24.01.2022 With extra precautions in place, Fine Entry Marine are still making good progress on our 26m Charter boat build with the main deck superstrucure taking shape now.

20.01.2022 "Arcadian" is a new 17.4m (57' 2" measured) rock lobster vessel launched late last year by Calibre Marine Pty LTD for the Higgs Family of Port MacDonnell, SA. She was built from an all new GMD hull design and Marine Kit and has performed to our high expectations, achieving 23 knots at sea trials. The loaded cruise speed is even more impressive, 17.5 knots with 140 pots plus misc gear on board at 1750 RPM from the Yanmar 900hp. The ride is very soft, predictable and dry, making Arcadian a pleasure to fish. Arcadian is a shining example of the high quality vessels that are made possible by combining a GMD design and Marine Kit, with Calibre Marine's fabrication and in-house engineering capability. We're looking forward to future builds for the South Australian coast and beyond!

19.01.2022 Big day for our group, with the official blessing of our new rescue boat Dingo Marley. Thank you to everyone for being a part of it.

18.01.2022 Here's a shiny (but not for long!) new 6.6m Air Rider built by Westerberg Marine in Albany from a GMD design and aluminium Marine Kit. This one will be hard to beat as a fishing and diving platform.

17.01.2022 Here's our new design and Marine Kit that's going together very quickly at Fine Entry Marine. It's an all new, high volume 26.2m x 7.3m Charter Vessel based upon our latest generation rock lobster hull. We'll have more photos and info to follow as the build progresses.

17.01.2022 Here's another update on our 26.2m charter boat design and Marine Kit being assembled at Fine Entry Marine in Geraldton, WA. The shell plate is going now, starting with the hull bottoms from the transom forward. We can't wait to see the hull fully skinned! The last few images straight from our design software give a preview of the superstructure in 3D. Please excuse the technicolour!

15.01.2022 Really good progress on our 26m Chart Boat design and kit at Fine Entry Marine. Decks are on and stringers are in, giving a great preview of the finished lines!

13.01.2022 Built by Colin Smith Boat Builders in Port MacDonnell, this design and kit was completed in 2017 and has set the new standard for sea keeping, stability, softness of ride and load carrying in a 50 rock lobster vessel. Powered by a 750hp Volvo D16 engine and swinging a large 5 blade prop through a Twin Disc gearbox, the sprint speed is 24 knots at 1900 RPM, with a comfortable cruise speed of 19 knots. The large aft work deck is a clear 4.6m wide, meaning five 3 pots can be stacked across it’s width. A rarity in a vessel this size!

08.01.2022 Soon to become the first sister vessel to "Maximum Achiever" from our previous post, construction has just begun on another of our 55' Marine Kits at ENGCRAFT Engineering in New Zealand. The vessel will work across multiple fisheries and will be equipped with a large cool room complete with 'drop in' live catch wells. The Marine Kit was shipped from Fremantle direct to Port Chalmers (near Dunedin) in a single 40' container. With some clever packing we can actually fit two of these 55' Rock Lobster Marine Kits into a single 40' container for shipping anywhere in the world!

05.01.2022 A huge congratulations to Stan and Gloria Priddle on the launch of their new 55' rock lobster vessel "Maximum Achiever"! Built by Colin Smith Boat Builders from an all-new GMD Marine Kit, Maximum Achiever is the spiritual successor to Stan's last GMD designed vessel "Quiet Achiever" and includes a decade of design refinement to the hull shape. Initial sea trials in a 15-20 knot westerly gave 25 knots sprint at 2300rpm from the 900hp Scania, cruising at 19 knots and 1800rpm.... Skipper Ben Wilson, who oversaw the fitout, tells us the vessel is smooth and comfortable, turns well and runs very dry. Joking he hasn't had a chance to test the wipers yet! The build of "Maximum Achiever" has been a great team effort and we wish the Priddles and crew many trouble free years of fishing from this beautiful vessel. 05.01.2022 Iron Pride sea trials last weekend in Perth. Lads did a run out to Rotto for the day! She is looking mint!!! @ Rottnest Island

04.01.2022 We've been a bit quiet on Facebook lately while we've had our heads down working on some new designs. There's a bit of a back log of projects we need to post now, so watch this space! We designed and kitted this 6.6m island cab Air Rider for Piavanini Welding in Collie. Simon has done a beautiful job building the kit and is now nearly finished building another of our 7.5m Air Riders for a client. Since these photos were taken the 6.6m has been finished and sea trialled with twin 140hp outboards propped for 38 knots so we'll look forward to some on-water shots soon. What a weapon! Congrats Simon!

02.01.2022 Here's some footage we received a while back of a 7.5m Air Rider centre consoles cruising at ~35knots out the back of Garden Island, off Fremantle, WA. This hull was all new in 2019 and features 28 deadrise, a super fine plumb stem and redesigned chines. Seakeeping performance is comfortable and predictable in all headings with the Air Rider's trademark soft and dry ride.
