19.01.2022 Should you wish for an unforgettable day in Miami Beach, start with The Holocaust Memorial (1933-1945 Meridian Ave), a most haunting and powerful piece of art which depicts the horrors, pain & sadness suffered by the Jews in WWII. The pictures & stories on the circular wall lead you to a tunnel which will bring tears to your eyes (you will see why) & leads you to the main sculpture, a huge outstretched hand covered with grief stricken, desperate figures of men, women and chil...dren. It's a beautiful, quiet place to reflect & left a deep impression on me. The ultimate follow up is a 20 min cycle away (rent a Decobike) - The Russian & Turkish Baths (5445 Collins Ave), a one of a kind experience where you wander from room to room experiencing saunas, steam rooms, a Russian Shvitz, heated crystal room, ocean Jacuzzi, polar room, ice cold plunge pools, showers and waterfalls. The idea is to go from hot to cold repeatedly, it's totally unpretentious & a place of healing and reenergising. You'll leave feeling like a new person! If you can stand up after that, grab your bike & cycle the famous Miami beach boardwalk to South Pointe Park which is beautifully lit at night with spectacular views of Miami City & the boats coming in and out of the harbour (Government Cut).
