25.01.2022 Treatment for chilblains.. Paraffin wax therapy is one of the most effective methods of applying heat to relieve pain and stiffness. Regular use of paraffin may significantly reduce the pain of chilblains and secondary complications associated with skin integrity and poor blood supply. Paraffin wax baths can even help to soften hardened skin. How is paraffin applied to your feet? ... We cover your feet in moisturiser, then submerge your foot in wax. Your feet are then wrapped up to retain the heat for up to 20 minutes. Please ring if you would like to know more or would like an appointment 54425825.

18.01.2022 COVID-19 Update We are wanting to advise all of our patients & referrers that Global Podiatry is open as usual at this time. We treat a number of elderly patients and patients with conditions such as diabetes and cancer which make these patients more vulnerable to the virus. ... The symptoms of coronavirus are reported to take as long as 14 days to develop and include cold/flu like symptoms. Fever, followed by a dry cough, sore throat, headache, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. If you have any of these symptoms regardless if you have travelled overseas or not please contact our clinic on 544 25825 to reschedule your appointment. What we are doing: Under normal day to day operation we have strict guidelines around infection control through instrument sterilisation, surface disinfection, hand washing and hand sanitisation between patients. All treatment surfaces and equipment are wiped down with disinfectant spray or wipes. Door handles and reception benches wiped down regularly offering hand sanitiser to all patients to use at the reception desk continue with our strict hand washing regime between patients .. if you are unwell or experiencing flu/cold like symptoms please reschedule your appointment. 08.01.2022 Do you suffer with Chilblains? Chilblains (erythema pernio)is a painful condition that occurs primarily through the winter months affecting predisposed individuals. Signs & Symptoms * tissue redness around the toes... * itching * inflammation * pain * blistering Chilblains are best prevented by keeping the feet warm in warm cotton or woollen socks. Avoiding direct heat sources, heat packs, electric blankets. Try to maintain an even warm temperature in the home.
