25.01.2022 We looooove you Byron Bay
23.01.2022 We are extremely HApPy to share one of our GReAtEsT successes so far. Our first (but not last) water bore , water tanks and solar pump has been installed in the Turkana desert of Kenya. Successfully providing clean drinking water to approximately 3500 Turkana people. The local government was so impressed with our actions they purchased an extra water tank. A water trough was also installed for the animals as some people travel very far distances to get the water. A majority of the Turkana community were suffering deeply by the drought, many dying and most starving. This water will also help grow food crops. YiPpEEEeee!!! We found safe drinking water in the desert!!!! It’s moments like these we really feel all our hard work has paid off. Super happy! Saving for the next one!!

08.01.2022 Today (and everyday) we at Global Ripple recognise the connection to country by the First Nations people. We recognise the Bundjalung nation (the land where we stand today) with their past present and emerging peoples. Today is symbolic of hurt, where hopefully people like you and me are slowly waking up. ... Sadly our political leaders and courts have not yet. This will happen in the future. This is not a political post, although it really could be. This is about love and identity. We see you..... #changethedate #bundjalungcountry #byronbay #alwayswasalwayswillbeaboriginalland #invasionday #invasionday2021 #globalripple #australiaday #australiaday2021 #uluruheartstatement Image: artist unknown, Creative Commons licence
07.01.2022 Please sign. We are a charity who deal daily with the disparity of Byron’s housing crisis. Recently there were just 38 rental properties available across the entire area. Not one was affordable for families or singles on benefits. In comparison to the 38 homes available for long-term rental across Ballina, Byron, and Tweed Heads, there were 4,660 homes advertised for rent through Airbnb. The vast majority of those Airbnb homes were whole houses that stood completely empty 8...4 per cent of the time. Although the NSW state government tried to stop short term lets with subordinate legislation back in 2017, global corporation Airbnb posed a massive legal challenge further allowing this unbelievable statistic to put pressure on long term stable housing for long term locals. These locals (YOU) are what make our little Byron paradise what it is. It is all about community, not negatively geared gentrification.
06.01.2022 Guess what: we in Byron Bay have the highest median house prices in Australia. That means some of the most expensive houses in the world! We also have the highest median rates of homelessness in Australia. Community is not about gentrification, it is about social diversity and community cohesion. That is why we love you, for being such an amazing community.
03.01.2022 The privilege to be able to have that break between Christmas and new year where we don’t know what day it is. Let’s spare a thought for those doing it rough and not having such privilege. Thanks again Byron for really stepping up and supporting the good fight of love and kindness. xxxxx #charity #byronbay #kindness #human #love #people #blessed #byron #closed #opshop#charity #insta #thriftshop #australia #nsw #homeless -#help #empathy #future #love
