15.01.2022 Coogee Maritime Trail

14.01.2022 On a clear summers morning, Global Unmanned Systems fly a small drone over the restoring landscape at Yarrabee Reserve. The drone looks like a foam esky with ...wings, but the camera within it is a highly sophisticated piece of technology, recording the vegetation in the visible, infrared and near-infrared bands of the electromagnetic spectrum. Yarrabee is a key conservation reserve in efforts to reconnect remnant bushland between the Stirling Range and Fitzgerald River National Park. It is jointly managed by Greening Australia and Bush Heritage Australia who, over the past ten years, have been revegetating over 600 ha of agricultural land back to bushland. These measurements will help to assess the vegetation health and provide baseline information for monitoring vegetation changes over time.
