We are particularly interested in finding people who exhibit at least a couple of the following qualities and professional expertise: ... Passion for arts and storytelling Passion for wellbeing and addressing mental health Experience working in mental health and/or connections into mental health sector Governance experience Legal expertise Financial expertise We meet in the stunning Paper Bird Book Shop in Fremantle - living in or near Fremantle can help but is not essential. Board members are responsible for strategic oversight of the organisation, ensuring we continue to meet our mission and aims, and advocate for the organisation and its mission within the wider community. Duties include: Attending meetings (approx. 5 per year, which will increase in future years) Participating in strategic discussions at board meetings and other meetings as required Supporting the Artistic Director in particular functional areas, for example connections to relevant networks and seeking funding Some positions on the board call for additional duties (for example Secretary)

21.01.2022 Our Young Writers Development Program produced some fantastic stories from wonderfully creative young people, like Chloe (aged 12) 'The thing is, not everyone’s going to like you. In fact, only a third of the people you meet will. The other two thirds will either despise you, or not really care. So we each get one third of the world to make our day. Life would be grand if we were all grouped into our thirds, surrounded by people we love and who love us back. Geography is... what messes it up. Life decided it’d be way more fun if we were all jumbled in together randomly. We have to search to find people in our third. And we can be surrounded by people all in the same third who aren’t in ours. That’s why it’s such a miracle I found Augustus.'
