24.01.2022 Glossodia Rural Fire Brigade would like to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Christmas and New Year period! It was great seeing everyone in the streets for our Santa Run, and the crews were especially grateful for all the signs that were up along the way. Great community spirit. Don’t forget to spare a thought for the many firefighters who will be on the ground over Christmas and the New Year period, giving up family time to protect our communities.

20.01.2022 As you all know the annual Christmas Eve Santa Run is coming up fast. We would normally be taking donations of lollies for the run. But this year due to COVID-...19 we have decided that a donation bucket would be best. The bucket is located at Judd’s (Glossodia Butcher shop) on the counter. Any donation big or small is very much appreciated, then one member of the brigade will go and purchase the lollies and Santa being the one to throw them out like every other year. We feel the donation bucket this year is the best way to keep minimal contact down on the lollies. Santa and the Crew can’t wait to see you on the run

19.01.2022 The Gospers Mountain fire is now contained. After lightning started the fire on October 26, it has burnt through more than 512,000 hectares across the Lithgow,... Hawkesbury, Hunter Valley, Cudgegong, Blue Mountains and Central Coast local government areas. The firefighting effort has seen a range of local, interstate, federal and international agencies involved. Containment took longer than expected due to unfavourable weather conditions, however due to our hardworking crews, we have achieved that today. It is important to remember not to be complacent as there are still a few months of the bush fire season to go with some bushland that still has not been burnt.

19.01.2022 From today, a permit is not required to conduct a pile burn. Notification and compliance with the Open Burning policy from Hawkesbury City Council is still required.

18.01.2022 Glossodia RFB send their condolences to all those affected by another tragic accident!

17.01.2022 After weeks of being closed, the Putty Road is now open. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked to make this road safe.

16.01.2022 Excuse the Photo Quality, but our crew recently made Westpac advertising. Thanks heaps to everyone, both individuals and companies who contributed with donations to our firefighters during these challenging times. The community spirit makes what we do worth it!

02.01.2022 We'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who has made donations over the past few months. Whether it was lollies, water, snacks or other supplies; our crews are incredibly grateful for your generosity. We can't name everyone who donated, but some notable donations came from Fone Fanatics Mobile Phone Repairs and Accessories, Pinnacle Excavations, Big W Richmond, Glossodia Classic Car Club and the Westpac Operations Department at Concord West. Fone Fanatics filled our Toyo...ta Hilux Personnel Carrier full of powerade, fruit, snacks and water for all the firefighters on the ground on Saturday at Kurrajong Heights and Bilpin. Pinnacle Excavations donated a wide range of refreshments to the firefighters at Glossodia to fill our truck with every time we go out. The Manager Alison from Big W donated a large quantity of Lollies to go towards our Santa Run this year. Glossodia Classic Car Club, who raised $426 from the proceeds of a raffle to fund raise for our brigade. Westpac Operations wrangled up donations from all there staff to create snack packs for firefighters which we believe they have delivered to many brigades across the greater sydney region. We apologies if we missed anyone who has been a major supporter of our efforts within the community. We are incredibly grateful for all donations, big or small, and look forward to seeing you all on the streets tomorrow night for our annual Santa Run!!!
