20.01.2022 End of the week roll on the weekend! Had a productive week spending time revamping the website and simplifying our polish & pad stocks. We have waaay too many pads and different compounds As part of the simplifying these arrived today, Rupes yellow wool pads and The Last Cut by Jace Price.... I’m really looking forward to trying these out next week on a lovely AMG E63 we have coming in. Keep an eye out for updates on this car next week! Have a great weekend everybody

15.01.2022 I guess one benefit of stage 4 is we are posting more articles! Our latest blog post was prompted by some questions we received about Covid 19 and the cleaning and sanitising of interiors. Latest studies show covid can survive between 3-7 days on surfaces found in most vehicles. We use a fantastic product called IGL Pure as our cleaner/disinfectant of choice but there are others available.... 14.01.2022 The last step before applying any ceramic coating or sealant is THE most important. Some detailers use isopropyl alcohol, which smears around polishing oils but does not completely remove them. We use brand specific solvent based solutions that COMPLETELY remove polishing oils that could interfere with the coating bonding to your paintwork, sure we could save a few bucks and use an inferior product too but that’s not the Gloss Syndicate way.... This is a step you don’t want your coating installer to skip or cut corners on.

11.01.2022 Our last car completed before Stage 4 Restrictions were implemented and we have a 6 week pause in our business. This perfect blue series 1 Holden VF SSV Redline came to us for a single step paint correction package. Although in overall good condition there was still the usual swirl marks and light scratches to be removed.... So after a thorough wash, chemical and mechanical decontamination the car was dried and pulled into the detailing bay. Sensitive areas were taped up before we selected a compound and polishing pad combination to remove the swirls and deeper defects while leaving a deep glossy finish. Once polished we cleaned the paint with panel wipe to remove any polishing oils and topped the paintwork with our 6 month Si02 sealant to protect it. We also applied solution finish to dye the black plastics so they look like new. Check out the pictures below to see how it went! 05.01.2022 Today we are working on a 2020 Toyota Landcruiser Prado. Unfortunately this is the way an $80,000 + car is delivered by the dealership . Sure it looks great on the lot but after a wash and decontamination the fillers from the paint wash away and this is what you are left with...Swirls and buffer trails galore! THIS is why your brand new car needs to be polished before you apply a ceramic coating.... Sadly, swirl free paint from a dealership is a no matter how much the car is worth.

03.01.2022 Why do we use an expensive solvent based panel wipe? a) because we like wasting money on name brand stuff in pretty bottles b) because the paint surface MUST be absolutely squeaky clean with no leftover residue for the coating to bond properly ... I’ll give you a hint and it’s not choice a! Some detailers use cheaper cleaners that don’t remove polishing oils effectively if at all and worse still some skip this crucial step entirely ! A quality coating job is all about fastidious prep work! Cutting corners on a $1000 plus coating job to save a couple of dollars just doesn’t make sense to me
