11.01.2022 We need help in locating current and historical nesting sites of the Glossy Black Cockatoo across the Sunshine Coast! These can be natural hollows or in a supplied nest box. Have you ever witnessed the Glossies visiting a hollow or nesting box on the Sunshine Coast? Why is this important? The Glossy Black Cockatoo have extremely particular requirements for their nesting sites and excellent nest box take up results on Kangaroo Island have been proven to do well near current nesting sites. This information will help us to install more cocky hollows in suitable locations here. Please send us a message if you believe you have a location to add. Cheers, Kim.

09.01.2022 A nice discovery of feed trees while on horseback early this morning - hence the wobbly photos and video... There is nothing like the call of the Glossy Black Cockatoo and then the flash of red to make your heart soar! Blessed to be on horseback in the misty rain observing this beauty I will be heading back on foot to further monitor this location.
