15.01.2022 Saturday Grand final match for the Intermediate competition was played on the 19th September. It has been an unpredictable season with the COVID epidemic threatening to put an end to our already shortened season, but we made it in the end with a Silly Hair and Sock day to celebrate. We had 4 teams competing this season with the grand final match played between the Vixens (Green) and the Giants (Red). Solid defence and leadership was shown by the red captain Danielle Channon... in the first half. The red team struggled to get the goal counted in the first quarter with the green captain Sarah Griffiths securing numerous rebounds for her team. The Green team had a slight lead at half time with a score of 20-12. There was some sisterly battles on the court with Anna-Rose & Abbey Seale and Keira & Charli Macdonald on opposing teams making the showdown a little more tense in those households. Abbey Seale was impressive at Wing Attack jumping so high for many ball intercepts. Keira and Laura Stone paired well in the red shooting circle, especially in the second quarter. After half time green got into a nice rhythm and showed alot of confidence in the other players with solid shooting from Natalie Rayner backed by Elana Pope for team green. Allison Simon was impressive for the Red team in defence during the second half. Mackenzie Schafer and Anna-Rose Seale also played an excellent game in the centre for Green to secure the win with a final score 42-25. A short presentation of trophies was held after the game with Keira Macdonald winning the Intermediate Pointscore for the season and Lotus Rossi named the Encouragement Award winner for the Intermediates. Best Silly Hair and Socks went to Anita Jackson and Summer Edwards. Thankyou to the players, parents, umpires, scorers and committee this season. There was alot of work that went in behind the scenes early on to be able to hold our competitions this season and it was great to see the players on the court each weekend and abiding by our covid guidelines. Special mention to Ian Jackson from MidCoast council for getting the toilets up to Covid guidelines this season with a new soap and hand towel dispensers and ensuring the courts were in great playing condition each week.

10.01.2022 Woohooooo - The umpires and committee were celebrating a successful Saturday competition as it came to a close on the 19th September. It is hard to believe that we were able to get 10 weeks of games completed with the covid epidemic threatening to cut the season short. Thank you to all the players (and parents) that registered this season. We hope to see you all back in 2021 for a "normal' season. Fingers and toes crossed. xxxx

05.01.2022 Twilight Grand Final - what a great game tonight between the Red and Purple teams. It was a tough game with the goals scarce in the first half due to amazing defence at both ends. Unfortunately Paige rolled her ankle in the first 40seconds of the game, but made a brave comeback in the second half for the Purple team. At a score of 10 - all at half time it was anyone’s game. Thanks to Keira for floating for Paige during the grand final match. Red kept up the strong defence dur...ing the second half and Jess was on song shooting adding consistently to the scoreboard for the red team. The final score saw red victorious with a score of 29-20. Congratulations to all players. Trophies winners named tonight were Highest pointscore - Keira Macdonald Most goals scored for the comp - Alix Maddelina. Most Improved - Toreen Denyer and Charli MacDonald Encouragement Award - Nic Edwards and Zane Commons.

04.01.2022 2020 Tamika Preston Memorial Trophy was awarded to Katrina Channon on Saturday by John and Lois Barkwill. This memorial trophy is very special to our netball club and we thank Mandy Finlay and family for your ongoing support of the netball club. Katrina is a worthy recipient of this award as she has assisted the club this season during Saturday and Twilight netball with numerous jobs before, during and after games like scoring, umpiring, ticking names off the covid list, clea...ning, manning the netball clubhouse and well as always trying her best on the courts. Congratulations Katrina
