25.01.2022 A big thank you to coach Luke, and Django for having us in Brisbane. Pat and Django doing some great heavy rounds of sparring. Thank you so much boys.

24.01.2022 Great inter-club sparring with the crew from the Agoge, everyone did so well. Seb, Simon, Patrick, and Mel. Matt has done a great job in teaching the fundamentals of boxing to Mel as she demonstrate it so well. Well done Matt.

24.01.2022 So Simon now has two records at the Agoge. He was our first male state novice champion, and now he also has the fastest stoppage at the Agoge. Simon stopped his opponent in the first minute of the first round with a beautiful combo. Right hand to the body followed by a right uppercut, then finishing with a number of rights to the head causing a cut to the left eye. The combo its self wasnt the beautiful part of the victory, it was how Simon handled the victory by going straight over to his opponent and making sure he was ok. That is a true gentleman and a champion. This is what I was more proud of tonight. Well done Simon. .

23.01.2022 The Agoge Boxing Gym had its first fight tonight. Im proud to say that Simon was our very first Agoge fighter to represent our club and also come off with a great win. Dom and I are so proud of Simon. Simon showed great composure through the whole fight, great skill and brilliant body shots. Well done Simon you have done so well.

22.01.2022 Hi everyone, first of all I hope you are all well and your family and friends are doing well. Secondly I would like to thank you all for you true patience, for checking up on the gym, and for checking up on myself and my family. You know who you are, so thank you. The darkness is easing, and the sun light has fought its way through, but its not quite over yet. Now the ball is in our court and its up to us from here on to do the right thing by us all. The gym will open on M...onday the 8th of June for Boxing and fitness classes. What you are all required to do: 1) Bring your towel and water bottle with you. 2) Have your own boxing gloves, hand wraps, skipping rope. 3) Out of complete respect for everyone in the gym, to be hygienic, wear clean training clothes, and deodorant. 4)Be respectful to one another, and patient with each other. ( This is still early days for us all ). I appreciate the time you have given to read this, please do take note and if we all take part in this it will be easier for us all. Thank you all so much and I look forward to seeing you all on Monday the 8th of June. See more

20.01.2022 Great night at the Agoge, so good to see everyone enjoying and having fun training. Great work everyone.

19.01.2022 Its done. Pat ready for tomorrow night for the WBO African heavyweight title belt. Go get it Pat we at the Agoge are so very proud of you.

19.01.2022 What a fantastic afternoon it has been for the Agoge boxing gym. We had two fighters representing our gym today. We first had Mel: this was Mels first fight and she has been trained by Matt. Mel is the Agoges first female state champion. Mel put on a great show for everyone today, showing heart and so much grit. Mel boxed so well and listened so well to Matts instruction. Mel come away with a great win. Congratulations Mel - we at the Agoge are very proud of you. Matt w...hat a fantastic job you did with Mel. Well done. Im also very proud to announce the Agoges very first male State champion, Simon put on a beautiful display of boxing today. His results speak for themselves. Credit to Simons opponent, he too is a fantastic boxer. Simon did everything that is asked by a boxer - good guard, proper boxing punches, movement and staying composed. The Agoge crew are so very proud of our first male state champion. Congratulations Simon.

18.01.2022 Simon fought on the weekend for the golden gloves. Simon fought one hell of a fight, landing some fantastic head shots that were so clean and crisp that the worlds best car detailer would be impressed. Shots that were so hard that walls would fall, skills that even Sugar Ray would be impressed with. Unfortunately the the judges did not see the same and didnt give us the decision. We are so proud of Simon, he has come along so far and was such a different fighter that night. We at the Agoge are so proud of you Simon. With your shield or on it. SPARTA.

18.01.2022 Still got it. lol

17.01.2022 Hello all, as most of you would be aware the Australian government have confirmed that as of Monday the 23rd of March, 12 noon, Gyms will be closed for business till further notice. Please dont panic, as your membership cards, and monthly cards will be on hold until the gym is allowed to reopen as normal. I myself would like to take this chance to thank everyone who has supported me and the gym. I wish you all the very best in this difficult time we are all going through. All I can say is please be patient with what is happening and be safe. Best wishes Pep.

17.01.2022 Hello everybody, I trust you are all well and healthy. As most are aware some of the restrictions have been lifted. This is the phase 1 restriction that has been lifted. So yes, some gyms are aloud to operate. The issue with our gym is we come under Phase 3, as we are a boxing gym which is a contact sport. Holding pads for each other, sparring, and partner drills does not give us 1.5m space between each other. The size of our gym wont allow the 1.5m clearance with each othe...r during classes. So please, I ask for you just to be that little more patient than you have already been, and we shall be back to normal before too long. I appreciate your patience. I miss you all dearly, and we will be back before you know it. Thank you all.

16.01.2022 What a fantastic night it was for the Agoge, and for these two fine boxers. Young Blake was first up: Blake controlled his opponent very well with his speed and long reach. Blake used his skills to his favour and came off with a great win. Simon came out of the gate with a great controlled aggression which caught his opponent by surprise and right on the chin. Simon was a step in front of his opponent all the way and controlled the fight to the end. I would like to thank Blakes, and Simons opponents for the fight, both lads showed a lot of heart and some great skills as well. We at the Agoge are very proud of Simon and Blake, keep the good work up boys.

16.01.2022 Im trying to be as humble as I can, and not be arrogant or cocky. Im not one to talk about myself, nor tell people things I have done in my life. What I do do is help people when they ask me a favour, and this is one... as one of my students hurt his ankle so I carried him for 80 meters with his bag to his vehicle while my other students filmed me and asked me to put the videos on the gyms page. Just to confirm my student is 5.9 ft and weighs 90kg.

14.01.2022 Hi everyone, hope you are all well. So we have the go ahead now from the Government to open and operate as normal. So heads up for you all, please sign in each time you come to the gym for training, please bring your own gloves, wraps, skipping ropes, water bottle, and towels. Its been a long wait, but considering what the rest of the world have we are in a good spot. Im glad the government have allowed boxing gyms (contact sport) to reopen now, once again I appreciate your true patience and most of all your true loyalty to myself and our great gym. Thank you all.

14.01.2022 A big thank you to my close friend and brother Bobby Mayne for this excellent book he has written about the beautiful art of boxing. This book has it all, from basics to advanced. Amateur to professional. Bobby has always been a big help to me with all my fighters from the amateurs to the pros. Thank you so much Bobby for your support over the years and for the book.

14.01.2022 Another fight night for our two fighters Simon and Blake. Young Blake was up first: Blake dominated right away keeping his opponent guessing all the way. By the second round the ref saw enough and stopped the fight. Some great work there from young Blake. Simon was up next, this was the hardest fight Simon has had. Simon got caught in the first round with a beautiful body shot which I think the back of the crowd could hear and feel. Unfortunately that took the wind out of Simons sails so to speak and the fight was an up hill battle from there. Simon got some good shots in himself and at one stage looked like he was coming back. Unfortunately we didnt get the win, although it was a fair decision, but if it came to grit and heart the fight was ours. We at the Agoge are very proud of the two boys. Well done boys.

13.01.2022 Great to see that even the heat wont keep the group away. Well done everyone.

12.01.2022 Young Blake fought on Saturday night against a good, young and experienced boxer. Blake demonstrated some great boxing skills in his counter-attacking. Dom and I, and a lot of the crowd, were very impressed with Blake’s performance and very happy with him. Unfortunately the judges didn’t see it our way and this a prime example of does a judge like apples or oranges? This is where it is important that we’re not upset with the club that we faced, as the decisions are out of their hands as well. We know that Blake will bounce back a much better boxer from this fight. He certainly has a good future in front of him.

09.01.2022 After a hard 4 years going onto my fifth year my dream has come true. The gym I always wanted as a young teenager has come true for me. My ancestors, my culture and the founders of this beautiful art we teach is all in the one name of the gym. THE AGOGE. I would like to take this chance to say thank you to all who have supported the gym in good and hard times and who have stayed by my side. A very special thank you to two people: Dom who has helped me and taught so much about the fight game, about people and about loyalty and trust. Second of all my beautiful wife who has always believed in me in making this come true and supported me all the way. Oh, of course, thank you Sparta for the Agoge.

08.01.2022 Congratulations to Simon, Toni, and Blake on becoming state novice champions. Unfortunately Pat come up short this time, but as we know this is boxing. All four of you have worked hard for this. We at the Agoge are proud of all four of you. Congratulations

07.01.2022 Last night will be a night Pat wont forget, as it was his first boxing fight and a win at that. As we all know, for those who have been in any ring, nerves can get the better of us at the best of times. Pat experienced that in his first round while still performing well as a boxer. Pat stayed very composed and listened to the calls very well. By the third round Pat hit his opponent with a beautiful body shot and got an 8 count, Pat stayed wise after that shot and went straight for the same shot again and got the stoppage in the third. I would like to say that Pats opponent boxed very well with heart and did not back off at all. This was a great fight as the crowd were cheering it on with passion. A big congratulations to Pat for his first fight I can see great opportunities in boxing coming your way Pat. Well done.

06.01.2022 Well things didnt go to plan for us last night. Pat did his best on the night but unfortunately we come up short. Congratulations to Demsey on his performance and win. We at the Agoge wish you all the very for your future and your upcoming fight. A big thank you to Angelo for really looking after our team with everything. We really appreciate it. Thank you to the Agoge crew for your full support.

06.01.2022 Some nice light pad work with Ash.

05.01.2022 Gavin, on behalf of the Agoge Boxing Gym, it has been a pleasure having you train with us, and an honour training with the top strength and conditioning trainer for the UFC in China. The compliments you have given the gym mean a lot. All the best to you and your lovely partner. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.

04.01.2022 Great day today Louis, getting the hang of that boxmaster real good. Well done.

04.01.2022 Young Blake: what a bright future this young man can have if he continues on the path he is on. Blake fought on Saturday night. He found it hard to find an opponent but we got one. Blake fought with phenomenal speed which shocked his opponent, with great aggression, and fantastic power. Blake’s opponent was in deep shock from Blake’s performance. Blake got the job done by the second round when the referee saw enough. This was Blake’s fifth fight and his second stoppage. Dom has done one hell of a job with Blake. Well done Blake we at the Agoge are very proud of you.

03.01.2022 Great year for young Simon, and a great night. Simon has won all his fights this year - performing well, boxing smart, understanding the psychology of boxing, controlling his emotions and making them work for him instead of against him. As your friend and trainer Simon you have come a long way as a person and a boxer. We are very proud of you at the Agoge.

03.01.2022 Im must say, Im very proud of these two men today. They both did 10 rounds of hard sparring, both have improved so much in a small amount of time. Well done men.

03.01.2022 Wild Bill Nasios first Austilan National Championship belt donated to The Agoge Boxing Gym as thanks for time spent training here with us at the Agoge. Thank you Will.

01.01.2022 Well, its time - all the hard work has been done: physically, psychologically and spiritually. Now this is not about that. I would like to take this chance to thank a number of people. Ill like to thank Geoff Peterson from Petersons gym, I would like to thank Bobby Mayne from Boxrite, I would like to thank Brett Regan from Kore boxing gym, and Jay Gray from Onxy. Thank you so much for your support, great advice and being there to help in anyway you lads can. Id also like ...to thank the sparring boys Luke Adams, Jack John, and Denuado Murray. Thank you to Angelo Di Carlo from ACE Boxing Promotions for this great opportunity. Thanks also to Stuart Morn for all the hard work you have put in behind the scenes and for sourcing this opportunity for the team. I would also like to thank Demsey McKean for accepting the fight and for the opportunity. Most of all, Id like to thank Pat Eneanya for giving myself an opportunity to train him for this fight. Its a great honour knowing that he trusts Dom and I, knowing that Perth has so many other great trainers as well. Thank you Pat.

01.01.2022 Nice class tonight considering how hot and humid it was. Well done everyone.
