19.01.2022 STAY HYDRATED // Last week I had the opportunity to visit a number of different workplaces across Sydney (in collab with @wellineux) to promote the benefits of staying hydrated. We provided tips and strategies around ways to keep water intake high and encouraged people to get creative with healthy water infusions to, hopefully, boost inspiration to drink more. Here are my top 5 tips for drinking enough water each day:... 1. Keep a bottle at your desk - I recommend a 1L bottle as it means you actually have to get up and walk to fill it up. Keeping you moving and hydrated all at once! Also, make sure it's a pretty bottle too - silly as it sounds, this actually inspires me to use my bottle! 2. Get creative with flavours - at the hydration workshops we facilitated last week, we had a range of fruits on offer to create your own custom infusion. Often we go for the lemons/citrus fruits but most fruit and veg will infuse over time and create a super refreshing blend. This can be much more exciting than sticking to plain old water so use whatever is in your fridge! 3. Set reminders - if you're someone on the go and busy all day, it may be useful to actually set reminders in your phone to stop and drink. Perhaps consider habit stacking this with 5 min of mindfulness to break up your day!? 4. Drink a glass of water before each meal. Sometimes our bodies can mistake hunger for thirst so it will help us to eat the right amount of food whilst also squeezing in some extra mLs! 5. Lastly, invest in a decent water filter. At home, I use a Southern Cross Pottery water filter (from @nourishedlife) and I fill my bottles up from this before leaving for work. Honestly, it's much more enjoyable, you can truly taste the difference.
