25.01.2022 Hello mama’s & mummas to be.. During pregnancy or when breastfeeding, a woman's body goes through many hormonal changes. What an incredible job it does growing our little miracles! Every pregnancy is different & this can mean for some of us our skin may have increased sensitivity, suffer from hormonal breakouts and/or darkening of pigmentation or melasma. I owe it to niacinamide (vitamin b) as the skincare ingredient that changed the game when I was dealing with hormonal b...reakout & perioral dermatitis during my last pregnancy. It helped regulate the oily production, strengthen my barrier & calm the PD, I feel Vit b is a secret weapon when dealing with hormonal & sensitised skins. 19.01.2022 It’s a catch 22.. you don’t want to get sunburnt & smashed with UV rays (which cause free-radical damage and age your skin like nothing else), but you don’t want to put lots of nasty chemicals onto your skin. Yes most sunscreens contain chemicals, especially mainstream department store brands. Some a lot more than others; you just need to be smart about it and be aware of this, so be choosy with what sunscreen you put onto your skin everyday. If the ingredients listing is ove...r 40 long then probably don’t go for that one. And probably check the same for any skincare and makeup you’re using daily. We stock 5 different spf’s for the face in studio, as every skin is different. We have hydrating, mattifying, tinted, mineral only in clear + tinted, and a face and body on the go. Here at Glow, we proudly use the Dermapen4, a handheld pen-like device. Skin needling is a non-invasive treatment that does not require topical anaesthetic where the upper epidermal or dermal layer is punctured very quickly with tiny sterile needles, creating thousands (literally up to 1920 per second) of micro wounds just beneath ...the surface of the skin. This process causes the body to create a surge of collagen and elastinthe two primary elements of skin production that heals and renewseffectively kick-starting the rejuvenation and healing process. We are sending the skin into a state of self-repair. Absolutely amazing for healing acne scarring, breaking up sun damage and surface pigmentation, softening fine lines, refining large pores, reducing diffused redness. Down time? 1-2 days of being slightly pink/red faced (everyone varies here depending on your skin type), any redness and inflammation will go down within 48 hours. 08.01.2022 What order should you apply your skin products?? For each skincare product to be effective, you do kinda need to follow a lineup that doesn’t cancel out the previous product's benefits. It doesn’t have to be a complicated flow chart, and you don’t need 10 different products to do what three or four quality cosmeceuticals will do. Main thing also to remember is to apply thinnest to thickest- is you wouldn’t apply a moisturiser before a water based serum. Let’s split it up be...tween AM and PM. . AM- The main focus of your morning routine should be setting the stage for the day with protection against whatever elements your skin is going to come into contact with=a targeted antioxidant serum to fight free radical damage+ an spf to protect from UV rays. . AM: -cleanse only if & after exercising (yes, that’s right! Only a water wash if you’re not gonna be a sweaty betty) -vit b or c serum/pigment inhibiting serum/peptide serum -hyaluronic serum if you’re dehydrated -spf 30+ or more (yes, everyday!) -mineral makeup (if need) . PM- the primary concern should be repairing & rejuvenating your skin & when you should address your personal skin issues with targeted corrector serums & of course hydration. . Not sure about seven times faster, but it definitely doesn’t help your skin at all if you’re not cleansing off the day before you go to bed. -Think of all that dirt, bacteria, chemicals that are trapped in the skin for 7+hours -Any dead skin cells will also be trapped, inhibiting it from naturally sloughing off as it should. -A quick handy makeup wipe just won’t cut it. They will only smear the makeup away, kinda like applying a cleanser & then not rinsing it off....
