17.01.2022 GLW Freight Management Christmas in March! This weekend was a chance for Graeme & Linda to acknowledge and give back to a great group of employees and their partners who at times make sacrifices to keep the wheels turning. They also acknowledge that a few staff couldn’t make it this year. An early start saw 44 of us jump on a Carree Coachlines Bus and head towards BUSSELTON. Stopping for breakfast at the Crooked Carrot and then onto the Dunsborough Bowling Club for a light... lunch and a few ends of lawn bowls. Some boasting turned sour as balls seemed to be finding kitties of other games 1 or 2 lanes across, lots of laughs and but no Olympic contenders! Then onto the Beer Farm to quench some drivers thirst, I mean bowling is a very physically demanding sport. The night event was held at the Abbey Beach Resort with some pre dinner drinks and the presentation of 6 employees who have worked for the company for 5 years or more. They’ll get to enjoy a night or two at the Crown sometime soon. There was a bit of fun with awards for some of those moments we may have wanted to forget, including the Boss’s late night video rendition of AC/DC’s Highway to Hell on a run across the paddock. Finishing the night was a buffet dinner that ensured no one could eat anything more. A late checkout and a buffet breakfast, made for a leisurely morning before jumping back on the bus to head home. 10.01.2022 We welcomed this new K200 to the fleet this afternoon. In appreciation of his long service to GLW, Bevan will be taking care of this one on his regular run across the Nullarbor to Melbourne.
