22.01.2022 With circuit excels at access 2020 we are lucky to have a touch of "Days of Thunder" with the #85 excel of Glenn Mackenzie. Glenn, how long have you been a PIAR...C member and how did you get involved in racing? Joined PIARC during Covid so only a few months I did a few track days in a VS Clubsport I owned back in 2009-2010. Occupation. Sales Manager & Business Owner Years in Motorsport. 1 ( 2 if you count this year..) Racing Career Highlights to date. My first ever race weekend at Sandown, never been so nervous but had so much fun especially passing someone for the first time. Best and Worst moments in Motorsport? Best moment would be receiving the Hard Charger award at Winton where qualified last with a gear selector issue but then got it sorted and worked my way up to around 12th for the weekend that was great fun. Worst moment was a clutch failure at Sandown this year resulting in a DNF Hobbies / Interests outside Motorsport. Golf, AFL, Music, Movies, Food/Wine/Beer Who are your Sponsors / supporters I work full time but during lockdown started a side business to help fund racing called Equipment Link Australia which sells hydraulic components online, im also luck to be supported by Menace Customs, Scarcella Designz & AMR Motorsport Any upgrades to your car during lockdown. New motor built by Adam at AMR at the start of the year which is in now ready to go plus some other minor changes. What are you looking forward to at PIARC access circuit excel challenge. I always look forward to racing at Phillip Island it’s such an iconic track watching all the greats from when I was a kid race there to now having the chance to do it is great. All the guys and girls that race in the Excel category are fantastic to spend time with and race along side of. The field that has entered Access 2020 shows how popular Phillip Island is amongst the competitors so a full reverse grid will be heaps of fun and no doubt create great racing. 21.01.2022 What an up and down weekend! Was lucky to bank a pretty good qualifying lap so started 14th out of 48. Race 1 dropped a few spots after a rubbish start to finish 18th then pegged a couple of spots back and finished 16th after race 2. Race 3 was insane for a few different reasons... firstly car felt awesome and climbed up to about 13th or 14th but with a huge shunt in front of me at turn 4 which I was pretty lucky to avoid but received a ruptured brake line after running over... some debris which resulted a DNF Shattered as would've been my best ever result but after seeing several cars at the end I'm extremely lucky to come away unscathed. A massive thanks to AMR Motorsport for giving me what is easily a front running car but I'm not quite a front running driver Scarcella Designz for all the help and support making Mello Yello stand out from the crowd - looked great on Blendline TV and of course Menace Customs as wouldn't even be on the starting grid without their help and support - so many positive comments from those that know the job you guys did to make it straight again A massive thanks for all the messages feels good to be heading in the right direction after only what is my 2nd season of racing

17.01.2022 Just when you think Scarcella Designz couldn't wow you anymore...

17.01.2022 First race weekend done for the year but not the greatest start! Qualified 30th out of 45 on a very wet track, but transmission issues ine race 1 resulted in a DNF. Race 2 started dead last in 45th but after a great start and the car feeling fine finished in 30th. Race 3 another great start getting up to about 27th but then in a ploom of smoke up the back straight and dumping oil everywhere the transmission finally let go. ... Huge thanks for everyone that came out to support - thankfully all were there for race 2 As always a special mention to: AMR Motorsport - always does everything possible to make sure the car is right Menace Customs & Scarcella Designz - had som many comments on how good the car looked! 16.01.2022 Tonight is the opening race of the Victorian Excel E-Series and will be in the memory of one of the true gentleman of our Excel Victoria Club David Lowe and his number 91 Apex Pools Excel will be missed but never forgotten. We will be racing MX5's which is probably the closest cars to an Excel on iRacing. The series will go for approximately 10 weeks with 2 Enduro rounds.

13.01.2022 Qualified P13 out of 29 finished Race 1 in P12 - Plenty of room for improvement tomorrow

13.01.2022 All done for 2020 and couldn't be happier with how it finished. Car was a rocket all weekend even if starting and finishing results don't reflect that. Qualified 25th out of 53 cars with a 1:35.8 which was a PB. Got up to 22nd after race 1 but dropped a few spots finishing 27th in race 2 and for the start of the 1 hour enduro. With rain in the morning trying to set up the car right was a nightmare but took a punt and picked a dry setup which was the right call.... Unsure what position I worked my way up to but must've been easily in the top 20 and could've been higher if picked the right lap for the compulsory pit stop as a few behind me finished well into the top 10 making the right call. Unfortunately had a wheel work its way loose after about 24 laps so made another 2 unscheduled pit stops finishing in 38th overall - but more PB's in the race with a 1:35 was encouraging. A huge thank you to AMR Motorsport for preparing the car - the new engine is a rocket and couldn't reccomend Adam enough for a his hard work developing a package which makes it a front running car (just need a decent steerer for it now ) Also a big thank you to: Scarcella Designz - the car looks so good and gets nothing but compliments on the Mello Yello livery - thank you Menace Customs - with the car needing some tidying up now before 2021 gets under way no doubt these guys will have it back to as straight as it came out of the Hyundai factory with the work they do is top notch (almost too nice to race!) Bring on 2021 with a full race year ahead kicking off in February

11.01.2022 Had a great day today at Sandown giving the car a decent shakedown, special thanks for AMR Motorsport for and Driver Dynamics for the track time. If we arrange a few of us Excel we could possibly jump on again with them - with plenty of track time (pretty much open track last 2 hours or so) and using well over a tank of fuel it's sensational value for money.

10.01.2022 What a day! Was great to be back out racing again. Car was a rocket qualifying 10th out of 23 cars with a 2:02.9 Race 1 got a ripper start moved up to 9th battling away but then there was a slight "incident.." but that's going to happen from time to time... I missed race 2 as still trying to fix it after coping a hit but managed to get going for the 3rd race. Started last and struggled with bent steering/handling issues and with a couple of accidents in front of me and a saf...ety car finished 16th all in all a good result considering. A huge thanks to the guys that helped me after race 1. I was packing up and going to head home but they pitched in and got me going absolute legends. Also a huge thanks to AMR Motorsport the work Adam has put in and guidance has been awesome definitely no excuses now with the car Scarcella Designz - again all the supporting messages throughout the day thank you Menace Customs - the work that the guys have done definitely gets the attention

05.01.2022 Last year was my first year in Excel racing and loved it, but there was one thing I didn't like and that was the color of the car! Here is the end result after some fantastic efforts by amazing people. Firstly Scott and the guys at Menace Customs transforming the burgandy to black - the finish looks fantastic - almost too good to race!!... And then there is Nick from Scarcella Designz who put together many ideas - the Mello Yello car from Days of Thunder being the end result. Thank you so much guys I absolutely love it! Now back to AMR Motorsport to have the motor and finishing touches done.

02.01.2022 Qualifying done - starting in 30th out of 44 cars which isn't bad after not driving the car since September and it being a wet track. Car feels good so hope to move up a few spots with it starting to dry out a bit
