19.01.2022 Sure you can, just not if you are a Cleric. Remember, Arcane Casters can buff your Stats. Many people when playing an Arcane Caster other then Bard in D&D tend to take a relatively offensive approach when it comes to combat and magic. That is why most non-casters have a motto of "Kill the Squishy First". There is an entire other set of spells and while many are highly circumstantial, they all have very effective uses when a little bit of creativity is applied.... Take Buffs, take Debuffs, take spells that help you to control the environment. If the very ground under a foe feet is working against them, they will be easy prey for the non-casters. Taking such spells also aids in party bonding as you all become part of a unit that works together to achieve things that couldn't be done with a single characters potential. Unless they are a high level Wizard. Wish can go a long, long, LONG way....

01.01.2022 Lighting, colour and the description of such things can impact greatly on the feel of a game session. Some GMs and Storytellers feel that it may be superfluous description and unnecessary, but during those times where you want your players to be immersed and feeling what their character is feeling, such seemingly minor details and help a great deal.
