Well done Kate, in the short time we were there, we could see that the staff and community had embraced you and your leadership style. Well done, you are an asset to Primary Education and will achieve amazing things in your new role. Thanks to your mum and dad for a scrumptious meal and laughs, conversation and banter. 04.01.2022 Just so I never forget... Tuesday 14th April 2020 Scott Morrison is the Prime Minister of Australia. Daniel Andrews is the Premier of Victoria.... Australia has closed its borders to the world. Many states have closed their borders to the rest of Australia. It was declared last week that schools will not go back for Term 2 in Vic. For almost three weeks, pubs, cinemas, restaurants, indoor sports have been closed. Concerts, festivals, sports have been cancelled. Even Churches are closed. Only 5 people can attend a wedding and only 10 people can attend funerals. Petrol price is less than $1 per litre, diesel is $1.21. Panic buying means there has been no toilet paper, disinfecting supplies or hand sanitiser on the shelves. Pasta, rice, flour, eggs mince, canned tomatoes have been in limited supply. Supermarkets have restricted some products to one or two per shopper. Tape on the floors at shops to help distance shoppers (1.5m) from each other. Limited number of people inside shops, therefore lineups outside the doors. Non-essential shops and businesses starting to close. Office workers are working from home. Schools closed and children are to be schooled at home. Easter holidays must be spent at home. Over 70’s told to stay at home and self-isolate. Everyone being told to stay the *%#^ at home! There are only 4 reasons to leave your house - medical care, shopping for essential items, exercise and work/study if it cannot be done remotely. All non-essential travel banned. Fines of over $1600 are established for breaking the rules. Police patrolling the streets, beaches and parks. Shortages of masks, gowns, gloves and hand gel for our front-line workers. Shortage of ventilators for the critically ill. Manufacturers, distilleries and other businesses switch their lines to help make visors, masks, hand sanitiser and PPE. Arenas being prepared for the overflow of Covid-19 patients. Children's playgrounds are closed. We are to distance from each other. Press conferences daily from the government. The government throws money at businesses to try to keep the economy from imploding. Grants and loans. Some governments to pay 80% of employees wages where businesses cannot continue to do so. Daily updates on new cases and deaths. Barely anyone on the roads. People wearing masks and gloves outside. Many essential key workers are scared to go to work. Medical field workers are afraid to go home to their families. This is the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) Pandemic, declared March 11th, 2020. Why, you ask, did I write this status? One day it will show up in my memories feed, and it will be a yearly reminder that life is precious and not to take the things we dearly love for granted. We have so much! Be thankful. Be grateful. Be kind to each other - love one another - support everyone. Copy and share.

03.01.2022 TIME TO ACKNOWLEDGE OUR TEACHERS, PRINCIPALS & STAFF FOR A JOB WELL DONE In no way do I want to get political with my comments below. Far from it. In fact, our Governments both Federal and State have had to make numerous and difficult decisions over the last few weeks that affect and hopefully support us all. But the decisions to keep schools open ( rightly or wrongly ) have been difficult and controversial ones. Whilst I understand their reasons in doing this in relation t...Continue reading
