25.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day to my gorgeous Mumsy & to all the beautiful Mums out there

24.01.2022 Its day 1 of #myotherapyawarenessweek!! . Coming from a finance/compliance background, deciding to change careers into Myotherapy was a big one, but I have never looked back. . I am so passionate about what I do & love it so much, I actually wish I had had my epiphany sooner. Even during the uncertainty we have all been facing over the past 6 weeks, I have never once questioned this is what I am meant to do.... . A big part of that comes from my professional association @myotherapyassociationau, and all of the hard work they put in to support our industry and therapists like me! . #proudtobeamyotherapist See more

24.01.2022 Just a couple of important reminders ahead of appointments starting back tomorrow: 1 Wear your mask during your appointment. 2 Sanitise your hands as you enter the clinic. 3 If you have symptoms, please reschedule your appointment & GET TESTED!... We are beating this virus let’s keep it that way. #myotherapymatters

21.01.2022 Have you downloaded the COVIDSAFE app yet? . I have! . I know there has been a lot of negativity out there towards downloading this app with some saying its a way of the government keeping tabs on us & our information for all sorts of things.... . But pick up any persons phone & you will find a multitude of apps, for a whole range of uses, accessing a buttload of endless information on every person... the funny thing is, we dont think twice about those . This app, however, will fast track contract tracing if/when someone becomes infected, helping to keep our community (& loved ones) safer. . And thats something I support See more

21.01.2022 Hands up if you love G Myotherapy? . @crossfitwestgate @damocrossfit

20.01.2022 The part of G Myotherapy that you dont see... teaching! I am lucky enough to be able to spend my time outside of the clinic working with my partner, Shaun, in his business Advanced Clinical Education teaching other manual therapists new skills & sharing our knowledge & experience. Teaching has become a relatively new passion of mine, but one that Im thoroughly enjoying

20.01.2022 it up... Whats this you ask? . Here we have some electro-dry needling of the quadratus lumborum muscle . Electro-dry needling reduces pain AND muscle tension, and this QL was particularly angry today.... . Although #electrotherapy may look a little intimidating, your muscles will love you for it... and it feels AMAZING . #myotherapy #backpain #williamstown See more

20.01.2022 New shoe day! A year ago I decided to transition from highly structured, cushioned runners to more minimalist shoes like these Trail Glove 5s from @merrellaustralia My feet love wearing these bad boys & now I cant wear anything else They are flexible, wider through the forefoot & super light ... But just a heads ... If you are looking to transition to more minimalist runners, I strongly suggest you do so progressively, or you may end up needing to come see me for a treatment. . #treatyoselfthursday #newkicks #trailglove5

17.01.2022 What better time to tell you that... *drum roll please* . G Myotherapy is next week! . Even though Myotherapy had been deemed an essential service during our current COVID-19 lock down, I decided to temporarily close the clinic doors roughly 5 weeks ago until we got through the worst & understood the virus a little better.... . I am now taking appointments from Monday 4th May onwards, however, I have removed online bookings to allow me to best manage appointment times so as to remove the overlap of clients coming through the clinic. . If you would like to book an appointment, message or call me (Gab ) on 0437 139 236. . You may also notice some changes in the clinic to help manage infection control, which I will update you guys on in another post later today! . SOOOOO HAPPY TO BE BACK See more

16.01.2022 So often I get asked what does dry needling do? Many different things, depending on the application used. Essentially, it depends on how I apply it for you. ... Traditionally dry needling is used treat tight muscles and the associated pain. However, there is much more that can be achieved with a needle. Dry needling provides a means for me to influence your soft tissue structures in a way that produces a very specific outcome. It can pull apart adhesions from scar tissue, or it can stretch and change the state of fascia (connective tissue) that is causing pain or restricted movement. What does it feel like? This can be based on the application used, and even the practitioner applying it. There’s no reason to expect dry needling to be painful. In fact, some approaches can be very subtle & you may not feel anything at all. #GMyotherapy #dryneedling #oceangrovesmallbusiness #bellarinemyotherapist

13.01.2022 Under the new Stage 4 restrictions, as a Myotherapist I will only be able to see clients with a medically endorsed critical care plan. This means G Myo will be taking a short pause for the next 6 weeks, unless these restrictions change. I am still contactable via phone for anyone needing help with managing their pain/injury during this time, free of charge.... Stay safe out there legends, looking forward to seeing everyone on the other side See more

13.01.2022 Happy hump day! Bit of dry needling to some of the thoracic multifidus muscles to help get you through the week. No idea what your thoracic multifidus muscles do? ... Thats ok, because thats what Im here for! 10.01.2022 #freeyourfeet Have you ever stopped to think what your shoes are doing to your feet? When you squeeze your feet into narrow (socially acceptable) shoes on a daily basis, you’re restricting joint movement & stopping your feet from doing what they were naturally designed to do.... Choose a shoe that is shaped like a foot, not what the shoe companies think it should be shaped liked. Oh, but I’ve got wide feet. ... Do you?? Or have you just got feet? The ones you were born with? The ones that were there when you learnt how to walk? Ever heard of Chinese foot binding? That’s essentially what you’re doing to your feet when you wear narrow shoes. And no, it isn’t just heels or fancy shoes that are doing this. Many running shoes are guilty of it also. So the next time you put on a pair, try flaring your toes. Do they move as freely as they would without shoes? If not, maybe it’s time to reassess? @vivobarefootausnz @merrell #williamstownmyotherapist

06.01.2022 #NAIDOCWeek #NAIDOC2020 Always Was, Always Will Be. This recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.... Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers and first artists. NAIDOC Week 2020 acknowledges and celebrates that our nation’s story didn’t begin with documented European contact and invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations.

06.01.2022 Who feels better after a good sweat session? . Have you ever wondered why? . During #exercise , your brains hypothalamus and pituitary gland produces neurochemicals called endorphins, which bring about feelings of euphoria, well being and help us combat stress.... . Thats why regular exercise will put your nervous and endocrine system in a better position to deal with those day to day challenges, while helping to keep your mood consistent and positive. . #moveittoimproveit #williamstownmyotherapy #newportmyotherapy #altonamyotherapy See more

05.01.2022 I didn't even know my old booking system did this, but I am so glad it did because this brought a huge smile to my face last night! I am already so grateful that I get to do something that I love SO MUCH everyday as a "job", so receiving an email like this is the cherry on top Thank you

03.01.2022 Just FYI legends... Even though G Myo had already implemented this in the clinic, it is now a mandatory requirement. So please make sure you are doing your bit for our community & wear your mask to your appointment

02.01.2022 Your Myotherapy appointments may not always be passive. Movement is crucial for your well-being, therefore it can also be a very important part of treatment. This joint mobilisation technique is being used to help increase thoracic extension. So if you’ve been hunching over a computer all day (or week), this could be your jam!! ... Appointments are fully booked for this week, but jump like a bunny to secure a spot after Easter #GMyotherapy #jointmobilisation #oceangrovesmallbusiness #bellarinemyotherapy

01.01.2022 Heres a little sneak peek from our time in iso . Weve been training like this almost everyday for the past 6 weeks. It has helped to keep us sane (marginally) & it feels sooooo good! . Although all gyms are closed, our clinic is located above @crossfitwestgate, so we are lucky enough to be able to run amuck in there on our own.... .
