25.01.2022 Please sign and share! Every year the Federal Government releases huge swathes of offshore acreage for potential exploration by Big Oil. This year, the pristine marine environment released proposes a brazen encroachment on a number of our iconic marine wilderness areas. Places like World Heritage listed Ningaloo and Shark Bay, and the Abrolhos Islands.... Ningaloo is the world’s largest fringing reef, a 260-kilometre long coral reef swarming with turtles, tropical fish, manta rays, humpback whales and the elusive whale shark. This is a World Heritage listed areait’s no place for oil drilling. Will you add your name today to help stop this before it even begins? The Wilderness Society WA will be making a submission to the Australian Government opposing the release of this acreage. As part of that submission, we would like to include your name in a long list of Australians. The list will powerfully demonstrate widespread community opposition to the release of these vast areas of ocean for drillingboth to our Government, but also to any oil companies that might be considering exploring for oil there.

25.01.2022 Gnaraloo is a unique and rare place. It is home to the endangered Loggerhead turtle and other marine life. But recent adventures from people wanting to explore have disturbed the nesting beaches of Gnaraloo and damaged precious dune ecosystems. Please, become aware of your surroundings and keep to the tracks provided. 23.01.2022 How awesome is this! Cate, Cara, Karen and Adam, during their stay at 3Mile Camp last spring, made their own organic surf wax, which has been sold at the 3Mile Shop. This awesome foursome, not only did they donate their time to make the organic surfboard wax while on holidays, they also donated the full sale proceeds to the Gnaraloo Wilderness Foundation, raising $67.00. A massive Thank you to Cate, Cara, Karen and Adam. Every bit of generosity helps to continue our efforts ...to #KeepGnaralooWild. Visit https://gnaraloo.org/help-us/ to find ways to help and remember that your donations are tax deductible! Please keep your donation receipts so you can submit them with your year-end tax records. Have a lovely evening!

19.01.2022 A secret nursery where whales whisper to their calves is part of the "remarkable" biodiversity of Western Australia's remote Exmouth Gulf. Ask the Premier to protect Ningaloo’s Nursery: https://www.protectningaloo.org.au/protect-ningaloos-nurs/

17.01.2022 Through the support of the GWF, Gnaraloo Station has been accepted as a "Land for Wildlife" property! See the video https://buff.ly/2Vq3bVE Land for Wildlife is a voluntary scheme to encourage and assist private landholders to provide habitat for wildlife on their property. Thank you to Rangelands NRM who assisted by completing the on-ground property assessment and report. The Land for Wildlife program is an initiative of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) and we also thank them for their support.

14.01.2022 Call for Gnaraloo turtle nesting areas to be recognized in legislation as turtle sanctuary areas. 11.01.2022 Gnaraloo is a wild, beautiful place that is also nesting grounds for endangered Loggerhead sea turtles. Gnaraloo’s white sandy beaches and crystal blue waters offer turtles the perfect spot for foraging, resting, mating and nesting. But during 2020, due to increased tourism because of Covid, the beaches of Gnaraloo became subject to some 4WD traffic that has never happened before. What was once a safe place for turtles and their nests is at risk should this continue. Please h...elp us to protect the Gnaraloo turtles by keeping all vehicles off the beach and dunes to Keep Gnaraloo Wild. 11.01.2022 "If you’re one of the many people around Australia and the world who know and love Coral Bay and its lagoons and the crowd-free beaches that hug the coast down to the legendary waves at Gnaraloo and Quobba, or just someone who finds the prospect of oil and gas around these places inherently unsettling, you might want to have a look at what’s in the offing." "The government is rolling out the welcome mat for the oil and gas industry to open yet more areas adjacent to Ningaloo,... as well off the Abrolhos Islands, Shark Bay (another World Heritage area) and the Kimberley. It’s notable that these could be approved in the same window as the Subsea 7 pipeline facility in Exmouth Gulf. Which oil and gas companies would roll the dice with WA’s undeveloped, world-class reefs? Who in government could stomach the approvals and risks pinned forever against their name?" WAtoday.com.au

10.01.2022 What was once a safe place for turtles and their nests is at risk. On-ground management of the Ningaloo Coast is failing to adequately protect the area in this beautiful World Heritage and National Heritage Listed Area. Illegal camping is a new threat as is 4WD traffic during the sea turtle nesting season on previously pristine beaches and dunes as well as fishing in marine sanctuary zones.... Please help us to protect the Gnaraloo turtles by keeping all vehicles off the beach and dunes to Keep Gnaraloo Wild. If you want to help, read our post and express your concern to the West Australian Government and to the Australian Government. https://gnaraloo.org/turtles-under-threat-from-uncontrolle/

04.01.2022 The Gnaraloo Wilderness Foundation was awarded with the Len Howard Community Group Conservation Award by the Conservation Council of Western Australia during November 2019 for its actions to protect Gnaraloo. This award celebrates outstanding community leadership and achievement in conservation and sustainability in Western Australia. The recipient group must have been actively involved in the environmental movement for a number of years and have achieved demonstrable success... in their efforts. The award also recognises the GWF for its scientific work since 2006 in revealing and protecting previously unknown nesting rookeries of endangered sea turtles on Gnaraloo beaches in the Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area.
