24.01.2022 Looks like weve got Larko onboard the GNC train as tech advisor

19.01.2022 Can smell a major project brewing right here

17.01.2022 51 deg in the car park at Barbagallo, 68 deg in car at practice today for the Enduro 100 next week. We were fortunate to retreat to the shade & lavish surrounds of Garage 134 where it was a mere 44 deg for most of the day. Unfortunately the gearbox wasnt appreciative of the 50 lap flogging it received in the searing heat & will require a re- build this week.

17.01.2022 Prized addition to the GNC garage with this piece of Australian motor racing history. Ex DJR Falcon EB 01. Couldnt be in better hands for a full spec restoration. We look forward to sharing the progress of this massive project.

16.01.2022 When youre not at the Saloon Car Nationals in Hidden Valley Darwin, the next best thing is rolling the 17 out in the Saloon Car edition of the Time Challenge at Barbagallo Raceway

16.01.2022 Always a huge buzz strapping into the saloon. And it goes up a few notches on race day, with Round one of the Saloon Car Championships on this Saturday / Sunday at Wanneroo. It will be the first time both the GNC Falcons line up on the grid, and, believe it or not, in the Pro section for Saloons. Cant wait to get into it

16.01.2022 If you have this Saturday free, spend it at Barbagallo Raceway for the Wanneroo 100 Enduro event. Chris & Glen will team up together for #17s first competitive hit out in a field of ex supercar & pro drivers, along with the amateurs. The. Saloon Cars will also be joined by a few Supercars & Porsches in the main event which should make for some very interesting racing & viewing. Drop in at the GNC digs at Garage 134 & see what Saloon Cars are all about.

15.01.2022 Found this extract from Wheels magazine ,May 1992, At the time this news was huge as it was the prelude to the proper return of V8 Ford V Holden battle that still rages today. EB1 was the weapon with its Roush & Yates Nascar inspired 5ltr V8. It wasnt until a few months after this article that CAMS banned the car as they deemed it too fast and not legal. This was highlighted on the media promotions day at Bathurst 92 when Dick Johnson lapped EB1 approx 2 seconds quicker t...han the only EB Falcon competing that year, driven by Glenn Seton in official qualifying, clocking just shy of 300kph on Conrod Straight. DJ entrusted Neil Lowe to build EB1 at a cost of over $300 000, which back in 92 was some coin. Lowe was the manager of DJRs highly successful Ford Sierra programme. Will keep you updated with some exciting resto progress which has just started. See more

14.01.2022 Easter weekend not wasted in isolation with 17s rebuilt engine fitted up & ready for private practice this time next week

14.01.2022 #17s brand new fuel surge tank system should help us go the distance in the Wanneroo Enduro event on November 16

13.01.2022 Big couple of weeks at GNC South panel & paint division with the refurbishment of the front end & routine fluid changes after the last round of races at Barbagallo.Glen managed to get the 11 to Collie for todays practice in anticipation of a wet Saturdays racing over three heats. Now this could be interesting with most drivers getting a sighter of the new long track for the first time. Meanwhile at GNC North, going way over the top division, Chris has dismantled the 17s engine to find a stretched timing chain throwing the valve timing out. Block has been machined ready for re-building & re-fitting over the next week. Chris is aiming for the round three outing at Barbagallo in a months time to finally unleash the beast.

12.01.2022 Bit of a mixed bag for GNC Motorsport yesterday with Chris choosing to retire the 17 without racing due to a large drop in head compression in a couple of cylinders.Glen held onto to his qualifying position to finish 12th in heat 1 and followed up some close, hard racing down back with a 13th in heat 2. The 11 also has a power issue with an intermittent valve fault causing a lack of corner exit speed, but should be ok to compete the two heats today. Extra pressure exerted on the tongue via the teeth through the corners is plan A for today

12.01.2022 Another part of the learning curve in the wet on Sunday for # 11 with Round 5 of the WA Saloon Car Championships. Finished the 3 races without belting the car up, but times were below what we were after. Great fun having a close up view of how the guns throw these things around in the heat of the battle, regardless of the conditions. Now to work on some ideas to shave some time with a practice session with # 17 in two weeks, and Chris hopefully joining # 11 on the grid for Round 6 at Barbagallo, July 14

12.01.2022 Just having a play with EB 1 in between getting the saloon cars ready for Round 1 of the Saloon Car Championship first weekend of March. Its remarkable how clean & original the engineering of the interior & underside of the car is considering its age. Old school engineering at its best.

11.01.2022 Nice to catch up with old mates from our days sailing 14 Foot Skiffs who were competing in the International 14 Worlds on the Swan. Chris had a busy 10 days on rescue duties in his RIB with some solid crash & burn conditions. Nothing quite like a I14 wound up in a good breeze. Very similar to Saloon Cars Racing : Great class, great racing, great mates

10.01.2022 The 11 started this mornings Saloon Car heat up the grid due to some entrants dnfs in the previous race, but any hope of staying with the bunch evaporated when the car in front stalled at the start. Had some great close racing and managed to lower the lap times despite most increasing theirs due to the lack of track grip. A cracked front rotor meant a quick change before the start of heat four, where the 11 managed to hold position for 10 laps of intense racing. (For us backmarkers anyway) Big disappointment not have Chris on the grid this weekend, but the upside was the 11 was spoilt for preparation again. A full engine rebuild looks on the cards for 17, whilst the 11 has a sizeable work list to knock off in the hope of getting to Round 2 in Collie in two weeks time. Well done to WASCC for another outstanding meeting.

09.01.2022 A bit of loving for the 11 ahead of the final round of the Make Smoking History Saloon Car Championships this Sunday. No cheap points on offer, with a big grid and the two Martin Engineering cars duking it out for top spot. Bring it on....

09.01.2022 Full weekend at Barbagallo Raceway this weekend for GNC Motorsport with Chris #17 competing on Saturday in the Saloon Car edition of the Regularity event, and on Sunday, Glen will be taking #11 to the grid for Round 6 of the WA Saloon Car Championship. Come on down to Garages 134 & 135 either day & marvel at the most fastidiously prepared AU Falcon on the planet, and check out some full on Saloon Car action while youre there. Inspection wont disappoint.

07.01.2022 Another action packed round with the final three races of the WA Saloon Car Championships for the GNC #11, finishing all races despite some fuel starvation problems in Qualifying & Race 1. Lap times got quicker & consistent in the latter two races, with Chris eliminating the understeer problems & fuel pickup issues. Finishing seventh in the first championship season for 11 was due more to the reliability of the old girl & the preparation & maintenance program we devised whe...n we started, than competitive lap times. In addition to the pedantic, obsessive nature & habits of Mr Immaculate running the race day garage. The 11 only missed one race of the 6 competed rounds due to a cracked gearbox housing, despite the unintentional abuse handed out at times. Great stuff to get it to the finish line. All the guys in the Pro grid were obviously quicker..... Fortunately, or unfortunately, we are both addicted to the Saloons & will leave no stone unturned in the quest for some decent lap times! Time to concentrate on teaming up in 17 for the Wanneroo Enduro next month, and learning how to unlock the information in both the cars data loggers.....No easy feat for two computer illiterate imbeciles. 06.01.2022 Qualifying done with Glen in 11 starting from P12, with a cracked windscreen from debris a minor distraction. Chris is having some power issues in 17 and hopefully will get to start in P14 after some quick diagnosis. Race 1 starts 11.15am.

04.01.2022 Despite the scorching heat on Saturday for the Enduro 100,it was another top day at Barbagallo Raceway for the GNC Motorsport team, with a few major goals achieved. Firstly, getting the car home on fuel and under a melting temperature was a major consideration. We both probably went at it a bit conservatively, hoping the race would go a full 40 laps, & we may be able to outlast the guns going hard. Unfortunately for our strategy, the race ended on lap 37 with a car in the san...dtrap at turn 6 & a few of the front runners on their last drops of fuel crossing the line. Secondly, we wanted Chris to finish qualifying, the heat race & and the Enduro in his first competitive hit out in the 17. Simple reward for the massive time spent immaculately preparing the AU Falcon. Well done to brothers Brandon & Travis Sharpe, taking out the Enduro in their VT Commodore, by a short car length from Clint Harvey & Brett Niall in an AU Falcon. Thanks to Colin Mortimer for helping crew the 17 for the day. Also a huge thanks to the WASCC for running the event, the flag marshalls & especially the grid marshalls who were at it non stop during the hottest part of the day. See more

03.01.2022 Some good gains made with both cars over the weekend, with Chris competing in the Time Challenge on Saturday, testing new brakes, rear suspension changes, and an emphisis on tyre pressures. #17 times are on the way down, with multiple whinges of slower cars getting in the way- The competitive streak begins to rear its head. Glen competed in round 6 of the Saloon Car Championship on Sunday, and whilst the 11 was a bit of a bitch in qualifying, lap times plummeted with some ...rear brake bias adjustments and some timely setup advice from Tony Auddino. Fortunately, a rear brake caliper swap from the wreck next door in garage 135 got the 11 to the grid in heat 3, after a bleed screw leak dumped a full head of brake fluid in heat 2. A couple of sub 70sec laps finally, and hanging out with a few of the quicker guys in the EA/VNs later in the race made for a more competitive finish in the last race of the day. Back to the track for more two car tuning before the last championship round on August 18. See more

01.01.2022 After a couple of setbacks in the progress, the 17 engine re-build is entering the fit up stage with both the head & block being machined to take it from an old rules low compression engine to high compression, high horse power, & hopefully close to bullet proof. Plenty of attention paid to the one percenters & the selection of high quality parts should make this one a strong build. Thanks to our supporters in these tough times. 01.01.2022 Massive effort by Tony Auddino & crew to get the #4 V8 Supercar to Queensland Raceway for Round 3 of the Khumo Super 3 Series, after extensive damage last round. All the best mate!
