21.01.2022 Hiya Folks GNFL Footy is right around the corner and unfortunately our Field Umpire numbers are really struggling. At this point in time we cannot commit to h...aving umpires at games in round 1 and beyond, which is not good for any country footy comp. (We need 33 just to cover all grades/fixtures.. we have 14 on a good day) If anybody Boy/Girl, Fit/Unfit, Expert/Novice is even remotely interested in having a run, learning the game or just wants to earn some extra pocket money let me know! Payments range between $50 -$150 for 1-3hrs exercise at the local footy with free entry. $50 bucks an hour of tax-free cash sounds alright to me! We are just like any other local footy club minus the fact we don’t train nearly as hard and there is always a carton afterward. We are lucky to still have experienced umpires in our barracks who are willing to teach and train you up and then some youth to show that any age is able to do it. An added bonus is Harry Taylor, who is on the scene as the GNFL Ops Manager. One of his goals is to change that culture that surrounds local footy and their umpires so there is no better time than now to grab a friend and come down for a run. We train Tuesday at Eadon Clark Oval and Thursday at La-Fiamma Soccer Field both starting at 5.30pm, See you there!

13.01.2022 UMPIRE WORKSHOPS - MONDAY 19th APRIL @ ROVER FOOTBALL CLUB (81 Horwood Rd, Woorree WA 6530) Junior/Introduction Session @ 4:30pm. Introduction to Umpiring (Tar...gets New Umpires (either for Juniors, Women’s or Seniors would also be good for Junior Coaches too to get an understanding of umpiring). Basics of umpiring (positioning, rules, communication). 45 minute inside session, 30 minute outside session. Seniors Session @ 6:00pm Education session with New Rules & Key rules (Dangerous Tackles, Holding the Ball anything else that might need clarifying). Outside practical work with the umpires and then inside for a presentation on the above. Would be good to have some club representatives there as well (coaches, captains, presidents).
