19.01.2022 As part of #NationalVolunteersWeek, we will be profiling some of our grassroots coaches, officials and administrators that make our sport great! Community Coach... of the Year - Mark Hewitt-Park Mark has coached juniors at Northern Sydney and Beaches Hockey Association for over 10 years. During that time he has had great success at Association level and has mentored many young coaches coming through the ranks. Most notably, Mark took the initiative to create an Under 11 Indoor Hockey program for NSBHA which has successfully run for the past three years. Community Young Coach of the Year - Harry Tanswell Harry is an up-and-coming coach at Northern Sydney and Beaches Hockey Association. He coached the runners-up in Division 3 at the Under 15 Boys State Champs last year. Harry also coaches during Centre of Development and at various school programs for Hockey NSW throughout the year. He has also volunteered his time to coach at disability inclusion days such as those run by Blind Sports NSW.

05.01.2022 The Hockeyroos squad for 2021 has been announced and GNS is proud to congratulate Courtney Schonell who is one of 3 players who are 20 years old or younger in the squad. This is a remarkable achievement for a remarkable player! Courtney had a phenomenal 2020 season with GNS ending up as top goal scorer in the Sydney Women's League with 14 goals in a short season. 05.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Northern Sydney & Beaches are making fantastic progress with the proposed turf at Barra Brui. Could you please take the time to complete the survey as per their request.... Barra Brui Hockey Centre - We Need your Help Now! Progress continues at the Barra Brui Hockey Centre project in St Ives. At the June 2020 Ku-ring-gai Council meeting, the project received unanimous support from the Councillors to move from Council’s Strategy team to the Design and Constructio...n team. The project is now gaining momentum with Community Consultation and Geotech analysis. Council are now driving the project towards a mid 2021 finish. After delays caused by Covid-19 and various other disruptions this would be an amazing outcome. SURVEY WE NEED YOUR SAY NOW!! Ku-ring-gai Council put a survey on their website yesterday asking for submissions for the Barra Brui Hockey Centre. Please everyone take a few minutes to complete the survey and support the development.
