14.01.2022 Congratulations to Excel Event Equipment Hire - who received one of the no-interest loans the QLD Government put in place for small businesses to help with CO...VID. And also a $10 000 Small Business COVID Adaptation Grant. David Duncalfe, one of the family owners, told me today that their business is down to 1% of what it was before COVID, as they are very much linked to many of the big events around SEQ that have now been cancelled. And that their business and staff just would not have survived without the loan. He also told me they were able to spend the grant money on setting themselves up with a new server and software as replacements for the ones that were ageing badly. It has been the difference between their being able to take on-line orders and not. Although it was really sad to hear how much they've struggled, I was so pleased to know that the financial support the QLD Government has put in place as part of our economic recovery, is really really making a difference. And David says business is just starting to pick up now. If you need any equipment for any event at all - cups, plates, marquees, chairs, tables, cooking equipment and lots more - these are the people to go to.
