25.01.2022 Introducing our team: Dr Rowena McMullan is a neonatal paediatrician. Parenting a new baby is a joyful and exciting journey, but can be overwhelming, particularly if things are not going as smoothly as planned. Rowena is a passionate and dedicated consultant neonatal paediatrician who has provided advice and guidance to thousands of families through the challenging early months of parenting. Her specialist training in the care of babies provides evidence-based excellence in... family-centred care. She believes it is a privilege to be a part of a familys early journey and is delighted to be a part of the team at Goals Bondi Junction. Recognising that babies often have more urgent needs than other ages, she aims to see families quickly please contact the office staff for urgent appointments. Rowenas areas of expertise include: * Health, growth and developmental follow up, including babies at higher risk of problems (e.g. pre-term, small or with medical problems) * Feeding, nutrition and gut health * Sleep and settling concerns * Routine checks for well babies * Assessment of infants with acute medical problems * Consultations during pregnancy Rowena completed undergraduate training in the UK in 2000, and subsequently undertook general paediatric training both in the UK and Australia. She completed subspecialty training in neonatology through the Sydney Childrens Hospital Network in 2014 and has worked as a staff specialist at RPA NICU since then. In that time, she has acquired extensive experience in caring for infants, from critically unwell babies in emergency and intensive care settings, to running long-term health and developmental clinics. Her own 2 children have also provided much useful experience! Rowena is completing her PhD at the University of Sydney looking at markers of long-term cardiovascular health in babies born small or preterm. David Kowalski graduated from the University of Sydney in 1991 and has been a qualified Obstetrician and Gynaecologist since 2005. His training included a lengthy fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery in addition to five years of instruction as a general surgeon. He has published and presented numerous papers in his field and currently holds a...cademic posts, as Senior Clinical Lecturer, with the Universities of Sydney and Western Sydney. 06.01.2022 Introducing our team: Dr Nicole Stamatopolous is an obstetrician and gynaecologist. Nicole initially attended the University of Sydney and completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm). She then went on to pursue her dream of delivering babies and completed the post graduate Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree at the University of Sydney.... Nicole did her core training at the Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick, Sydney, NSW before completing her training with a fellowship as the Acute Gynaecology, Early Pregnancy and Advanced Endosurgical Unit at Nepean Hospital, Penrith, Sydney, NSW. Nicole has developed a love for all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Her special interest is not just Obstetrics but in Early Pregnancy and Gynaecological ultrasound, including deep endometriosis ultrasound. Nicole is currently in enrolled at the University of Sydney doing her PhD in the possible causes of miscarriage. She was awarded a $10 000 grant from RANZCOG in 2019 to assist her in completing this project. Nicole has published articles with respect to miscarriage as well as in sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and has subsequent author publications in pregnancy related articles and Endometriosis. Nicole is a Clinical Associate Lecturer at the University of Sydney. She teaches the medical students that are attached to the Nepean Clinical School in Women and Childrens Health. She was awarded an excellence award in 2018 for her dedication and enthusiasm in teaching the students. She has a blog dedicated to topics that are often somewhat uncomfortable for women to talk about and often find a little embarrassing. Nicole has a great passion for womens health.
