25.01.2022 CREATIVITY CAMP 2020 DAY 5 "I awoke this morning with devout thanksgiving for my friends, the old and the new" - Ralph Waldo Emerson Throughout this camp we had a Goat Track Theatre Post Box where the students could write letters of appreciation and gratitude to others throughout the camp. I tell no lie - we went though over 300 cards in 5 days with only 50 people there. The young people practiced the art of gratitude like never witnessed before (and there may have been a fe...w joke cards put in there as well). This camp was characterised by joy, gratitude, a zest for life, care and companionship. I have no doubt that great friendships were formed over these 5 days; the kind that could last a lifetime. 02.01.2022 CREATIVITY CAMP 2020 DAY 4 "It's not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves" - Sir Edmund Hillary. This is probably one of our favourite days of the camp, when we venture up the height of the mountain. It's daunting when you see it in front of you, and terribly hard with packs and all your gear strapped to you BUT, the view that awaits you at the top is something that makes it all worthwhile in the end. ... Friendships were formed and stories told as they walk side by side up the mountain trek. After we'd pitched the tents again on top of the worlds best view, we sat back to hot soup before we sat around the camp fire to perform some impromptu performances: stand up comedy, singing, dancing, and story telling. It's the kind of night full of fun, comfort and gratitude. A highlight and one for the memory bank for sure.
