21.01.2022 To the woman who has lost her spark. To the woman whose get up and go, has well and truly gone. This is for you.... This is to remind you, that you don’t have to be everything to everyone, every day. You didn’t sign up for that. Remember when you used to laugh? Sing? Throw caution to the wind? Remember when you used to forgive yourself more quickly for not always being perfect. You can get that back again. You really can. And that doesn’t have to mean letting people down or walking away. It just means being kinder to you, feeling brave enough to say no sometimes. Being brave enough to stop sometimes. And rest. It starts the moment you realise that you’re not quite who you used to be. Some of that is good, some of that is not. There are parts of you that need to be brought back. And if anyone in your life is not okay with that they are not your people. 11.01.2022 Dilution is really important for your safety and those around you. When I completed my Aromatherapy diploma in 2011 these were the guidelines back then and are still relevant today. Essential oils are diluted in a carrier oil. The standard carrier oils are vegetable oils. Eg grapeseed, avocado, rose hip, wheat germ. The recommended rate of dilution is 1%-3% of the appropriate essential oil to the carrier oil. General rule is 1ml of essential oil is approximately 20 drops. ... If you are preparing a 3% dilution massage blend then; To 100ml of carrier oil, add 3ml (60 drops) of EO. To 50ml of carrier oil, add 1.5ml (30 drops) of EO. In a diffuser 5-10 drops of essential oil. (see manufacturer guidelines on your diffuser as all are different) When working with babies, children, pregnant women, elderly and people with sensitive skin, you should only use 0.5%-1.0% dilution. When preparing a 1% dilution massage blend; To 100ml carrier oil add 1ml (20 drops) EO. To 50ml of carrier oil add 0.5ml (10 drops) EO. In a diffuser 1-4 drops for babies and children ages 4mths - 6 years. Do not exceed 2 drops before bubs is 12mths old. Ingestion. This is very controversial. I DO NOT recommend ingesting essential oils at all unless you are treated under a fully qualified Aromatherapist, doctor, medical herbalist who have an understanding of the pharmacological interaction of the essential oils. Oral administration of essential oils has some disadvantages, these include possible nausea/ vomiting irritation of the gastrointestinal tract most of the essential oil will be metabolised by the liver. destruction of the EO constituents by stomach acidity or enzymes in the intestines. Preferred method for administering EO internally is by adding the EO to a lipophilic medium such as vegetable oil and adding into a capsule. Continued ingestion of EO can eventually lead to toxic buildup in the liver. Therefore it’s recommended to have a rest from internal ingestion of essential oils after 3 weeks to give your liver an opportunity to eliminate the accumulated toxins. Just because essential oils are natural substances, it doesn’t mean that they are safe. Do not apply pure essential oils directly onto the skin or take internally. Unless advised by a qualified practitioner. Never exceed recommended dosages. Always ask about any allergies. Eg nuts. As almond oil can trigger anaphylactic reactions in people.
