25.01.2022 EDIT: oops, sorry...it’s on next week (the 8th). Get your hands dirty in the community garden this Saturday 9am-12pm. Free lunch :)

25.01.2022 UPDATE Well, just to maintain the trend of keeping you confused and disoriented, after saying that we had decided to go ahead with GG this Sunday, we have now reversed that and decided that there will be no Gully Gathering this Sunday! Sorry for any confusion.... Although there will nothing on this Sunday, it is still our intention to try and find some way of sharing with, and supporting each other, both materially and spiritually. So watch this space. And if you have any great ideas, let us know.

21.01.2022 Garden Day is coming this weekend: Sunday 8:30am, and lunch at 12pm - 1pm. Come along for a free BBQ lunch, and sink your hands into some soil.

20.01.2022 We run a local youth group, and this Friday, we are having a brainstorming session for activities we could do this year. If you know a young person in Long Gully, then please invite them along. Direct message us for more details if needed. Friday, 4pm - 5pm at the church.

17.01.2022 EDIT: thanks to all who donated today. We raised $280 which has been passed onto the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal. // Reminder that tomorrow from 10am-12pm, we will be offering apricots for a donation towards the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal. The apricots are delicous, and come from the Hope...It Grows! community garden.... See you there!

14.01.2022 Brilliant work on our pizza area and amphitheatre by @livingedgeconstruction. Looking forward to great community events here when we can. Thanks for the funding goes to #fostervillemine, @cvgtaustralia, @championsiga in Long Gully and the #CollierTrust.

13.01.2022 Our popular cooking sessions are on again. They start this Thursday and will last for 6 weeks. Turn up at 12.30pm to cook a delicious lunch together. Free for Long Gully residents; gold coin donations for (very welcome) ring-ins! Call Kylie on 0468 616 525 for more info.

12.01.2022 The berries are going off in the lane way behind the church. If you’re in the Gully come and pick the black ones before the birds do. @ St Matthew's Church

11.01.2022 Hi all! The Seeds community in Bendigo is running an internship in 2020. It's a 12 month residential course involving Christian community, mentoring, biblical reflection, and practical neighbourhood ministry. Seeds has been active in the Long Gully neighbourhood for the last 15 years. Have a look at this link for some more info, and get in touch if you are interested. https://seeds.org.au/internship/

08.01.2022 We’ll be having a small fundraiser for bushfire efforts this Saturday, 10am-12pm. Delicious crop of apricots at the HopeIt Grows! garden. Suggested donation: $3 per paper bag. All proceeds to @redcrossau. @iheartbendigo @bendigoadvertiser

08.01.2022 Year 10 student, Amy Cornford, has made some great face masks from upcycled fabrics, and is selling them for a gold coin donation at the Long Gully Post Office. Go get a mask and grab a coffee while you are there! Well done Amy.

07.01.2022 Thanks heaps to Tom Ryan, manager at Long Gully IGA! Their community chest fund is helping our amphitheatre be repaired - it's an essential outdoor space for festivals and pizza nights.

05.01.2022 Shannon from the People’s Pantry sewed up a storm with these cool cloth masks - one of which matches @davefagg’s jumper perfectly. Thanks Shannon!

05.01.2022 Parents of kids aged 0-5 years, the Mother Goose group runs at St Matt's every Wednesday from 9.30am - 11am. It's a lovely and welcoming group: you get to teach your child songs, rhymes, and stories that we all know and love, as well as some that are new :). Also, get to know some other families in your area. The group is run by staff from Baptcare, and they are fantastic. It's also free - win! If you'd like more info, call them on 0439 038 140, or download the flier.... The group starts on this coming Wednesday. http://bendigoreads.com.au//Baptcare-Parent-Child-Mother-G

02.01.2022 Anthea Taylor and the People’s Pantry get a write up :)

01.01.2022 For Long Gully residents, and those who work here as well... Many of us have existing friends and family who can help us in a tight spot, but many don't. We need ways to supporting each other right now. St Matt's has set up 2 ways to make this happen for the local neighbourhood.... 1. Facebook Group - "Long Gully Neighbourhood Sharing" St Matt's has set up a Facebook group for the COVID-19 crisis: it is for sharing personal and practical needs that we have, as well as offers of assistance. Click on link below if you want to join. 2. Offline support Some people don't have the Internet or Facebook, so we'll be letterbox dropping soon with our phone number, and a way for people to give us their requests for help. If you'd like to be part of a group of volunteers who responds to these requests, let us know by messenger. https://www.facebook.com/groups/LongGullySharing/
