25.01.2022 Saturday Trail Adventure from @twinquaysnoosa to the top of Mt Timbeerwah, then onto The Noosa Trail Network connecting onto McKinnon Drive just in time to cheer some of @julesdillon4 Crew who were doing a 70.3 today, then made our way home back to Noosa River for a coffee & walk for our recovery. 30kms in the run bank and what a stunning morning it was Lots of giggles & craziness with all our footage loaded on my GODIIVA YouTube. 21.01.2022 This was the year I started school 1977 and an old dear friend of mine posted this tonight and I loved it so much, it brought back so many good memories I just ...had to share it....this was our childhood enjoy Growing up I walked to primary school regardless of the weather and dinner time was at 6.00pm and bed was 8.30pm. Eating out at a restaurant was a huge deal, that only really happened when it was a birthday or a very special occasion. Fast food was extremely rare nights and having a bottle of lemonade from the milk bar was a real treat. You took your school clothes off as soon as you got home and put on your ‘home’ clothes. There was no taking or picking you up in the car, you walked or rode your bike! You got home did your chores and your homework before dinner. Our house phone had a cord attached, so there was no such things as private conversations or mobile phones! We didn’t have foxtel, Stan or Netflix, we had only 4 channels to watch. We played hopscotch, Hide & Seek, netball, handball, Cricket and sunbaked on our driveways. Staying in the house was a PUNISHMENT and the only thing we knew about "bored" was --- "You better find something to do before I find it for you!" We played music via a record or tape player. We went to the Milk Bar for bread and milk and a Lolli was 1 cent. We ate what mum made for dinner or we ate nothing at all and if we didn’t eat our vegetables there was no ice cream. Bottled water is luxury, we drank from the tap. We watched cartoons on Saturday mornings, and rode our bikes for hours and ran around the neighbourhood. We weren't AFRAID OF ANYTHING. We played till dark... sunset was our alarm. If someone had a fight, that's what it was and we were friends again a week later, if not SOONER. We watched our MOUTHS around our elders because ALL of our aunts, uncles, grandpas, grandmas, AND our parents' best friends were all extensions of our PARENTS and you didn't want them telling your parents if you misbehaved! Or they would give you something to cry about. We respected the Police, Firemen, Ambulance workers, Doctors and Nurses. We never answered back..... ever !! Wooden spoons and feather dusters were the cane of choice and we got detention at school for not doing homework, being late to class or being naughty. These were the good days. Imagine if Kids today could live like we did without a care in the world, they will never know how it feels to be a real kid I loved my childhood and all the Friends I hung around with. 18.01.2022 Today my fabulous hubby Tim and President of The Noosa Tri Club, hosted a Noosa Tri Charity Event. I just wanted to say thank you to this selfless amazing human who puts in so much time and effort to a sport he loves, to a Tri club he is truly passionate about, to a place we call home our beautiful Noosa. Not many people realise how hard he fought this year for The Noosa Tri to go ahead and he did this because he knows how important it is not only to himself but more import...antly to all the people within the Noosa Tri Club, the Tri Community not only within Australia but around the world and key local people (you know who you are) who live, breath, love and work during this amazing event every year. These people love to have a goal, we all look foward to this amazing event every year in a place we call home. So thank you for today, thank you for all the money you raised for two very special charities, thank you to the people who donated and thank you Tim for all your hard work for the past 12mths, you are a quiet one my beautiful husband but you have the biggest heart and Noosa is lucky to have you. 09.01.2022 Just like Court’s said in her post this is not a post about glory but I would like people who read this to know about this little Unicorn Babe. Over the past few months Courts and I have been clocking up over 100 COVID kms a week, we have been lucky to be able to do this and are very pumped and grateful after every run (maybe not when I crash) but hey comes with the territory So last week I just through it out there and planned a Hump Day 50k and of course Courts was on bo...ard. This Super Chicky is definitely a well oiled machine, her positive outlook on life has taught me a lot over these past few months and today she powered through and was an inspiration. 50kms is a long way but let me tell you with this little Unicorn time just zoomed by. 03.01.2022 Shout out to my little Wing Babe @courtneyakrigg I can’t tell you how pumped and proud I am of this little machine. Over 1500m of elevation so far this week and we are getting stronger as the weeks go bye. Training for an Ultra is not for everyone and hey I get that, it’s not only a physical load it’s just as much a mental load. Day in and day out for 26 weeks but when you cross that finish line and realise you have just finished 110kms of Mountainous Terrain you always understand why all of these tough training hours of hill after hill after hill and throw in a few mountains are worth it.
