13.01.2022 Hi Superfrauen!!! Girls´Day on 16 June Girls'Day meets Superfrauen! It will be a great opportunity to meet real Superfrauen. If you're a girl in years 7 and 8, check out our onsite and online Girls´Day program. You can visit women working in a STEM field, spend the day with head chefs or meet women who create new trends in street art. Here are just a few of the fascinating Superfrauen you can meet on Girls´Day: ... Devika Kamath is a stellar astrophysicist and Superstar of STEM. She is internationally recognised for her work on observational studies of dying stars. As a child, her evenings included spending hours with her grandfather, pretending to navigate through oceans using the night sky, a sextant, and a telescope. Fascinated by stars, she decided to become an astronomer at the age of 13. Behnaz Hassanshahi is a researcher at Oracle Labs where she is leading a dynamic security analysis project. She started programming when she was a teenager and most of the people around her didn't take computers seriously. She self-educated herself in computer science before going to university simply because it felt magical to build software out of thin air. Sora Bae is a software engineer at Oracle Labs. She came across Computer Science in her university in her freshman year but quickly caught up with students who have been programming from an early age. She finds it fascinating that she can make her ideas come to life using programming. Simone Schenkel is the owner and founder of Gruen Eco Design. She designed over 300 energy efficient homes and is passionate about sustainable design. Her mission is to make energy efficient homes a staple in Australia. Lina Duque Sanchez studies bacteria at Monash University and CSIRO and creates antimicrobial surfaces to reduce infection rates on medical devices. She thinks it´s great that her research can improve people´s lives. Stay tuned to meet even for more Superfrauen! #SuperFrauen #GirlsDay #GoetheInstitut
