13.01.2022 GoFish Nagambie Tip - Trolling V Casting Series They both have their benefits and their downsides, but it doesn’t mean that one is better than the other. Over the next couple of weeks, we will take a closer look. TROLLING... It consists of casting your lures out behind the boat, kayak or canoe and moving along at a slow pace, the perfect speed to get your lure working properly. Hard body lures are the most common and popular to use when targeting natives as they have the ability to dive easily and are extremely snag resistant. This technique was among the most popular back 20 years ago and still is for a range of species around the world. It’s a very straight forward technique and can be a lot more relaxing and chilled than standing up and casting all day. This technique is great for people who cannot stand all day, e.g. elderly, people with back injuries and even kids who have short attention spans, because you can put the rod in the holder and leave it there. In saying that, it’s not something that I recommend. For those who are keen cod anglers, you want to hold your rod all the time and ensure you are fishing it correctly. You want to continue to feed line out and bring it back in so that your lures is always within a metre of the structure. The more your lure is in the strike zone the more fish you will catch. 13.01.2022 Righto let's talk spinnerbaits Fishing with spinnerbaits is a great option if you are in the Weir Region. Here is why we love them: They are versatile - there are not a lot of places you can't use one. They can be bumped through timber, run along laydowns or dropped into the depths and will roll relatively snag-free. ... You can fish them at different speeds by using a different blade configuration - A double Colorado blade for example offers more resistance in the water so you naturally fish slower. A willow configuration has less resistance, so you fish faster. Give them a go out on the water this weekend Tight lines
13.01.2022 As everyone has pointed out, it was a VERY close race between first and second place for the $80,000 cod. We know this is a life changing amount of money and its not a decision we make lightly, we spent a lot of time deliberating and asking ourselves all the same questions as you are. Our expert panel of judges put both submissions through their paces to ensure the right decision was made AND we are 100% confident, we got it right. Paul Worsteling, Rhys Creed, Rod Lockwood (...Event Managing Director) and our Event Director put both candidates through their paces. We also used all the technology and software we have available to ensure we got the measurements right including; Photo mapping software Conversations with each competitor Brag mat submission for measuring During this process, it was picked up that Michael’s brag mat measured 1cm short, thus making his fish 98.6 where as Graham’ brag mat was bang on making his fish final length at 100.7. Whilst they kept us on our toes with what initially seemed like a close race, in the end, there was a definite and clear winner. Well done to both Graham and Michael and all anglers across the weekend.

10.01.2022 We are pumped to start pulling in monster cod in 4 days If you are planning on heading out in Nagambie here's one place to go. Majors Creek to Hughes Creek!... This area is an upstream section and includes the main river channel of the Goulburn River and the shallow creek system called Majors Creek. Tip: In this area, launch the boat at Majors Creek and then boat downstream until you meet the river, then turn right (upstream) and follow the river up for a few bends then start fishing! There are some incredible deep bends through this area which are perfect for trolling and also tying up and bait fishing.
