25.01.2022 How delicious do these Raw Blueberry and Cashew Coconut Bars look! Give them a go, a healthy and beautiful looking treat, yum!! What youll need: Base:... 10g brazil nuts 160g walnuts 190g dates 5 tbsp melted coconut oil White layer: 450g cashews 70g date syrup or agave 15ml coconut oil Purple layer: 150g berries 125g coconut oil 60g coconut flour 35g cashews Method: Line a 4 x 10 inch rectangular baking tin with baking paper. To make the base put the nuts into a food processor and blend until a fine consistency. Then add the dates and melted coconut oil and blend again. When you squeeze the mixture it will form a ball and stick together. This shows its the right consistency. Push the base into the prepared tin and put into the fridge. Make the white layer by soaking the cashew nuts in a bowl cover with just enough water so it reaches the top of the cashew nuts and leave for 1 hour. Pour the cashews and the soaked water into a high-speed blender with the rest of the ingredients for the white layer. Blend until silky smooth. Take the tin out of the fridge and pour the white layer on top of the base. Put into the freezer for 1 hour. Make the purple layer by soaking the cashews again by covering with just enough water. Put all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until silky smooth again. Take the tin out of the freezer and pour the purple layer over the white. Put back into the freezer for about 2-3 hours until solid. Take out and slice and keep in the fridge until ready to serve. Recipe courtesy of Honestly Healthy and LG.



25.01.2022 Healthy Raw Chocolate Brownie! One to make for the weekend. MAKES 10-15 brownies... INGREDIENTS 2 cups medjool dates (theyre the squishier, stickier, tastier kind of dates) 1 cup pecans 2-3 tbsp raw cacao powder 2 tbsp maple syrup (optional and can be replaced with any other liquid sweetener) METHOD This is the easiest recipe. Simply blend the pecans in a food processor until they form a crumbly mixture, then add the dates and blend again before adding the cacao and maple syrup. Place the mixture into a baking tray and either refrigerate for three to four hours or freeze for one hour to allow them to set. Keep them in the fridge for freshness. Recipe by Deliciously Ella.

25.01.2022 Its Saturday night! Instead of reaching for a bag of potato chips, why not give these a go. They are yummy, I promise!! Kale is a dark leafy green full of amazing health benefits and nutrients. Ingredients:... 1 bunch of kale 2 tablespoons of coconut oil Himalayan rock salt Method: Preheat oven to 150 degrees celsius. Place coconut oil in oven for 1 minute to melt. Pull kale off the stem, wash well and dry on tea towel or paper towel to absorb moisture. Put coconut oil and kale in a bowl and mix until kale is well coated. Lay strips of kale on a large tray and put in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until crispy (make sure they do not turn brown). Remove from oven and sprinkle with rock salt. If you dont eat them all straight away store in a glass or plastic container once chips have completely cooled.

03.01.2022 Hit the Weights to Lose the Stubborn Weight! As far as you know, youre doing everything right to keep losing weight. Youre hitting your calorie and activity targets. Youre on the treadmill every day. Youre eating balanced meals and controlling your portions while also getting plenty of fruits and veggies daily. Are you still having trouble losing those last few pounds? If so, youve reached the dreaded weight-loss plateau. For some, it feels as if their bodies have sudden...ly slammed on the brakes and that fat burning has slowed to a crawl. The Solution! Though diet is still regarded as the most important step for any weight-management plan, resistance training is crucial in achieving not only fat loss, but also total-body, long-term transformation. In combination with fewer calories, resistance training accelerates fat loss, improvements in body composition, and better heart health. Lifting weights is one of the most effective forms of exercise, particularly when using whole-body and free-weight exercises to shed body fat. Researchers also found that when it comes to weight training, the higher the intensity, the better the chances for fat loss and muscle retention. When combined with diet, resistance exercises are more effective at inducing responses in body compositional changes than either aerobic exercise or diet alone. For example, choosing free weights over resistance bands or running over walking provided greater fat-loss benefits to subjects. In addition, cardio exercises are quite effective, if not more effective, than resistance training for burning fatespecially in the form of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). But cardio wont help you retain or boost muscle as you lose weight, which is essential for maintaining or improving metabolism. For long-lasting improvements of body composition, theres no better way than weights. It takes just a few days a week of resistance training, combined with a nutritious weight-loss system, to start revving up fat burning once again.

01.01.2022 A healthy and gluten free lunch or dinner idea! Balsamic Chicken Tenders w/Veggies by @cleanfoodcrush. Yummy! For 6 servings you will need: 2 Tbsp plus 1 tsp olive or avocado oil, 220g fresh mushrooms (sliced), 450g fresh green beans, 680kg chicken tenders, 2 cup grape/cherry tomatoes, 1 lemon, dried oregano. Homemade Greek Dressing: 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil, Juice of 1 fresh squeezed lemon, 2 cloves fresh garlic minced (sub with garlic infused oil instead of the virgin ...oil if straight garlic upsets your gut), 1 tsp dried oregano, 1/2 tsp sea salt 1/2 tsp black pepper. Whisk all dressing ingredients with 2 Tbsp raw honey, 3 Tbsp balsamic vinegar (find a lower sugar variety) Instructions: Saut mushrooms in large pan with 1 tsp of the oil, until just browning. Remove from pan, set aside. Heat 1 Tbsp oil over medium-high, add green beans. Continue to saut until green beans are cooked, but crunchy. Remove from the pan, set aside. Heat remaining 1 Tbsp oil over medium-high, add chicken and season with salt and pepper. Cook 3-4 minutes on both sides and remove once browned & cooked though. Remove from pan, set aside. In the same skillet, lowering heat to medium, add your homemade Greek dressing, honey, balsamic vinegar. Heat & stir until bubbling. Add back in the mushrooms, and green beans, toss. Add back in the cooked chicken and fresh tomatoes. Stir for a minute or two to combine flavours.
