25.01.2022 Attention Farnborough Beach goers! Team Turtle CQ volunteers have discovered a turtle nest on Farnborough Beach north of Bangalee boat ramp, where vehicles ...are permitted on the beach. Council is asking the community to please avoid driving on the dry sand and only drive on the wet sand closer to the waterline until the end of March 2021. A reminder that Local Law No 4 restricts vehicles to within 50 metres of the boat ramp for launching and retrieval of boats only on all other beaches from Bangalee south to the Fitzroy River. Fines will be issued for offending drivers. Four species of endangered marine turtles nest along the Capricorn Coast beaches. You can help give the next generation a fighting chance by following these steps: Report turtle tracks or nest sightings to Fitzroy Basin Association https://www.fba.org.au/marine-turtle-season-report-a-sight/ Keep clear of nests Don't use torches, lamps or flash photography Turtles dig the dark! 10.01.2022 The seedling in side vege patch are struggling in this heat so Lachie has come up with a great natural idea to create a little shade for them until they get a little bigger.

03.01.2022 Small slow solutions. With a fair bit of man power, Lach has been chipping away at the carport. The tree posts were collected from a friends property making way for the sun to shine on the trees below and are being given a new life to form the framework for the carport. The posts will provide a frame for some climbing plants and the water caught from this structure will provide water for the egg chickens out the front to drink and to water their grazing area, which will soon home many fruit trees. The mulberry and the loquat that are already in that area are loving the nitrogen from the chicken poo but the bananas would certainly love some more water
