23.01.2022 If you have a Superannuation fund with a balance of less than $6,000 that you haven't contributed to for the past 16 months, there is a chance that it may be rolled back to the ATO in October this year. The ATO will then consolidate the amount with an active Superannuation fund in your name on your behalf where possible. If you do not want your inactive Superannuation fund with a balance of less than $6,000 to be closed you will need to do something that will mean the fund i...s no longer considered inactive. This is part of the 'Protecting your Superannuation' package, to be introduced on 1 July this year, and is designed to prevent low Superannuation balances from becoming eroded by fees. 22.01.2022 If you have a Superannuation fund, there is a chance that you might have Life, Total and Permanent Disablement, and/or Income Protection insurance attached to it. If you or your employer haven't made any contributions to your Superannuation fund in the past 16 months, there is a chance that the insurance attached to that account will be cancelled on the 1st of July this year. This could be you if you hold more than one Superannuation account, and your employer is not contribu...ting to both or all of them. In order to make sure your insurance is not cancelled, you will need to notify the Superannuation fund that you would like to keep it. This is part of the new 'Protecting your Superannuation' package to be introduced on the 1st of July this year. You can find out more about the changes, and insurance in your Super below. As we face the difficult challenge of responding to the Corona-virus, we want you to know that our number one priority is the health and safety of you, our clients, and our staff....
