25.01.2022 Cara and Coffee Hello Everyone, We've had a tumultuous few months and the less said about it the better. 2020 did not have a good start with first the rains and subsequent floods, then the pandemic causing all sorts of disruptions. But all is relatively well now and Qld Health have eased their laws on social gatherings, therefore Cars & Coffee GC is back with the first meet this coming Saturday the 18th. As always we will start at 7.30am. The wonderful team from GCAAC will ha...ve hot BBQ Brekky and there will also be piping hot fresh coffee too, all we now need are the Cars. So polish them up, wash off the cob webs, inflate those tyres and bring down your littles beauties for a wonderful morning of great camaraderie and Cars. A little housekeeping, if you are unwell, stay HOME! If you believe that you might have been in contact with someone with COVID-19, stay HOME! Bring your own hand sanitiser and facial masks, I will have some facial masks available for purchase on site should anyone require them. Social distancing will apply. Keep you hands to yourself, cut out the handshakes, an elbow bump, a greeting or simply a Namaste will suffice. Lets all get out there and enjoy ourselves, have a little fun, but at the same time, do our best to keep the nasty's at bay. Cheers, Sohan Parekh
25.01.2022 Finally, the day arrived on Sunday 12th July, when the Covid19 restrictions were lifted for an unlimited number of people to get together for lunch. Twenty people gathered in Eleven Cars at the clubhouse for a 9am start on a lovely winter’s morning. We travelled through Gilston, & Maclaren Rd, Beaudesert Nerang Rd, & Maudsland Rd to Oxenford. On the way Heinz & Meike joined us in their Rover & Phil & Bernice were waiting in their 1929 Chev at the designated morning tea stop a...t Damien Leeding Park, in Watersport Lane. Leaving the Morning Tea stop, after plenty of friendly chatter & catching up, we crossed the M1 & travelled through the Jacobs Well canefields to the Gem Hotel at Alberton for a delicious lunch. We lost our hub cap after morning tea but luckily we heard it pinging on the bitumen. Thank you to Karen & Col for organising a great day out.
25.01.2022 It was a fabulous Christmas breakup at the Nerang RSL. Wishing every one a brilliant Christmas. Thanks Col and Crew (pity Col would not stay in one place long enough for a photo)
24.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all from the CGAAC Facebook team

23.01.2022 This is a reminder that we are now resuming our Sunday and Wednesday Runs and General Meetings. The next Run is this coming Sunday 12th July. I haven't formulated the run yet so I can't give you a route and time just yet, I think we will be heading somewhere North of the Coast. Please let me know if you intend to come so I can make a booking for lunch at a venue TBA. The July General Meeting will be the following Day, Monday 13th July. as usual 7:00p.m. for a 7:30p.m. start.... It will be good to get back to some kind of normal, although we will be having social-distancing
21.01.2022 November mid-week run to Tony Longhust's Espresso Twenty5 and car museum, great day out with fellow club members
19.01.2022 Our first club run since Australia day, it was good to give the Rover a run and to get together with some great friends, thanks Bill for a great day.
18.01.2022 On Sunday 11th October, we arrived at the Clubhouse to prepare for our annual ‘King of the Mountain’ run. 23 people left the Clubhouse in 13 cars & travelled through Gilston & Beechmont to Sharp Park at Canungra for morning tea. Here we were met by Heinz & Meike in their Rover. On the way through Lower Beechmont & Beechmont we encountered about six hundred cyclists climbing up & down the mountain roads. Unbeknown to us The Robbie McEwan Gran Fondo was being held this weekend... at Springbrook, Beechmont & Tamborine. Our drivers had to diligently avoid the cyclists & motor cyclists travelling in each direction. Leaving Canungra, we ventured up the Goat Track towards Tamborine. Bob Simm & David Mitchell had car trouble on the Mountain road. After travelling through Tamborine we continued down the Mountain to Upper Coomera to the Wattle Hotel for a delicious lunch. Thanks to Col & Karen for organising the great day for our ‘King of the Mountain’ Run. We were certainly up & down the Mountains. Welcome to our new members Paul & Lindsay participating in their lovely Bentley. Congratulations to Judy & Bob Cook who took out King of the Mountain Trophy & also the Lunch Raffle was won by Judy.
18.01.2022 On Sunday 13th September, 25 members arrived at the clubhouse in 10 Classic Cars + 3 Moderns for our big adventure to the Scenic Rim 4 Real Milk Robotic Dairy. It is situated at Tamrookum between Beaudesert & Rathdowney & owned by the Dennis Family. On arrival at the Dairy we were joined by Heinz and Meike in their Rover. After partaking of our BYO morning tea, we proceeded into the Shed to view the Holstein Cows being milked in the Lely Robotic Dairy System. Greg Dennis (wel...l known as Farmer Gregie) gave us an in-depth insight into the workings of the Robotic Dairy. There are 4 Robots milking the cows 24 hours a day. The 250 Cows bring themselves into the milking bails three times a day & wait patiently inline for their turn to be milked. Each cow is recorded digitally so the Dennis family know exactly how much milk is produced by each cow daily. They are fed grain while they are being milked & the exact amount is delivered gradually during the time it takes as the computer knows how long each cow takes to be milked. The milk is all pasteurised and bottled 4 days per week on the property. There are no additives, or anything taken out of the milk. It is just pure milk as it comes from the cows. They also produce yoghurt & cheese. After leaving the Dairy we proceeded to Beaudesert RSL for a delicious lunch. Thank you to Col & Karen for organising a very informative & pleasant day in the country. It took some extra effort with all the Covid 19 rules. It was also nice to meet our new members Tracy & John in their Holden Brougham on their first outing with our club. It was also good to see Denis & Margaret Gow at the RSL club for lunch

17.01.2022 What a wonderful winter’s day for a drive in our Vintage & Classic cars. Twenty cars plus 2 Moderns arrived at the Clubhouse on Wednesday 29th July to carry 36 people to our destination at Canungra for morning tea at DJ Smith Park. Leaving the Park, we travelled on Lamington National Park Road for nearly 9klms to O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards to see their Mountainview Alpacas. For $3 you could buy a bag of food to feed them. On leaving the Alpaca Farm, we travelled bac...k through Canungra then on the Beaudesert Nerang Rd to Advancetown for delicious Lunch. Thank you to Bill Budd for organising a great day out.
17.01.2022 Great club run with the GCAAC, scenic drive to Beenleigh Artisan Distillery with sixteen other classic cars, followed by lunch at a local tavern.
16.01.2022 Great turnout for Cars and Coffee this morning. Thanks to Karen, Col, Albert, Joan, Dave Mitchell and Dave King for all of your fabulous work.
15.01.2022 On Wednesday 24th June, 20 people arrived at the Clubhouse on a lovely winter’s morning, for our first post Covid19 run. Travelling through the Tallebudgera Valley, we arrived at Lake Laguna at Palm Beach for morning tea. Mona kindly produced a birthday cake for me. Continuing on to Currumbin we visited Honeyworld, where an informative film was shown about the importance of bees pollinating all the plants for food produced in our Country. We were able to purchase all types of honey there plus watch the bees working in their hive. We also visited the SurfWorld Museum to learn about the history of Surfing. Our final destination was to Kirra Beach Hotel for a delicious lunch as we weren’t allowed to cross into NSW because of Covid19 restrictions. It was a shame the lunch guests had to be limited to 20 people.
11.01.2022 Ten classic cars (plus 2 moderns) assembled at our clubhouse for the monthly Sunday run on 10th November. This was a very smoky morning, because of the severe bush fires in the hinterland. Traveling through Gilston & Mt Nathan, we arrived in the Guanaba Valley area to meander through the acreage properties. The air was even smokier in this region closer to the foothills. We arrived at a new destination at Causeway Park near Oxenford for morning tea . This is on the opposite ...side of Coomera River to our more usual morning tea stop. Here we were pleased to see Heinz, Meike & Diamond waiting for our arrival. On leaving this park we headed towards Oxenford, where there were so many roundabouts & sets of traffic lights to navigate through the busy Sunday morning traffic, most people managed to follow the signs to the M1 & head back to the Nerang RSL where 18 people enjoyed the delicious lunch. Thanks to Karen & Col for organising this enjoyable day with time for chatting with other club mates.
10.01.2022 On Sunday 11th August, we arrived at the Clubhouse to an overcrowded carpark. The MG Club were holding a gymkana in the grounds & the Kustom Cars were also there in abundance. Some of our cars had problems manoeuvring their exit out of the carpark. As it was such a lovely winter’s morning & everyone was very pleased to escape from Covid isolation, there were so many cars & motorbikes on the roads. Fourteen people left the Clubhouse in 8 cars & we travelled through Gilston & ...Maudsland to Tamborine Mountain to enjoy Morning Tea at the Botanical Gardens. Leaving Tamborine, we ventured down the Goat Track towards Canungra. Heading eastwards our destination was once again the Advancetown Hotel. There are some difficulties booking a venue for Sunday lunch with so many people enjoying touring around the countryside. Thanks to Peter Amey for organising the great day as we even had live music for entertainment.
10.01.2022 Australia Day 2020, our cars on display at the Gold Coast Hinterland Heritage Museum
09.01.2022 On Wednesday 26th November, 10 Club Cars plus 1 Modern arrived bright & early for our trip to Beenleigh Historical Village & Museum. Travelling through Gilston & Maudsland, we arrived at Highland Reserve Park on Rose Valley Way for Morning Tea. Everyone enjoyed the chat & we were joined by some water birds looking for something to eat. Continuing along Reserve Road & Old Coach Road to Rifle Range Road where we crossed the M1 & travelled through the industrial area where all t...he semi-trailers were being loaded from cold storage depots. Crossing back across the M1, some people stopped at Yatala Pies to purchase their lunch. Arriving at the Beenleigh Historical Village we were directed to a parking area set aside for our cars. Everyone enjoyed reminiscing as they inspected all the old buildings restored from the early Beenleigh settlement including the original Council Chambers. Also, a homestead from a nearby cane farm is being restored. There was also a lot of vehicles, mowers & machinery all well preserved, on display. The people who didn’t purchase pies were happy to support the Village by purchasing lunch. We welcome our new member Karl in his Mercury Comet & also new members Tony & Trudy Jenkinson who joined us for lunch. Thanks to Bill Budd for organising a great day. The Twenty people who attended enjoyed reminiscing & were happy to see everything preserved in such good condition.
08.01.2022 On Wednesday 28th October, 22 people arrived at the clubhouse to travel in 10 classic cars plus 1 modern car for the mid week run organised by Coral & Graham Cogzell. Travelling through Pacific Pines and then Maudsland we arrived at Highland Reserve Park for morning tea. Passing through Oxenford we crossed the M1 & drove to Santa Barbara for everyone to have a chat & view the luxurious boats on the river. Continuing towards Paradise Point we stopped at Ross Evans Garden Centre for perusal of their plants, pots and planters, statues, and water features. Our next stop was at Arundel Tavern for a delicious lunch. Thank you to Coral & Graham for organising such an interesting & enjoyable day. 07.01.2022 On Sunday 8th November, members gathered at the Clubhouse for our annual Ladies Day. There were 18 club cars plus 2 moderns with a total of 40 people. After morning tea, including a lovely cake made by Leonie, everyone went on an observation run. Some of the ladies dared to drive the cars (or rather their menfolk were game enough to allow the ladies to drive their precious cars). Our first Ladies Day was held in 1995 when all the ladies were driving the Vintage cars of that e...ra which were much more difficult to drive than our present club cars. No automatic cars or power steering in those days. Following the short run around Mudgeeraba, we returned to the club for a gymkana of events for the ladies to participate in. Thanks to Wayne Robson for organising this. The trophy was won by one of our new members Tracey with John as the navigator in their lovely Holden Brougham. It was great to see so many of our new members participating. Thank you to our wonderful social organiser Leonie Butcher-Brown for providing a very tasty BBQ lunch for everyone. Also, thanks to President Col for organising this Ladies Day & keeping our tradition going.
06.01.2022 A nice mid-week run this morning thanks to Bill Budd. Out to Canungra for morning tea and then off to visit a fabulous motoring collection at Tambourine. After the visit it was lunch at Advancetown Hotel via Beechmont. And who won the lunch raffle? Well Coll certainly had a big smile.
06.01.2022 Come and see our cars at the Gold Coast Hinterland Heritage Museum at 238 Mudgeeraba Road, Mudgeeraba, betwen 10 and 2pm on Australia Day

Ther...e will be a $3.00 charge per person for the cheese tasting. Tv From there we will travel a short distance south to the Victory Hotel at Mooball for lunch. 03.01.2022 Vale Pam Giles It is with great sadness that the Club says farewell to long-time club member Pam Giles. She passed this morning (10/11/2019). Pam was a tireless and enthusiastic member of the Club and will be missed by all who knew her. The condolences of The Gold Coast Antique Auto Club community go out to Graham and to Pam's family. "When you are sorrowful, look . . . in your heart,... and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight." (Kahlil Gibran, "The Prophet") Vale Pam
01.01.2022 On Sunday 8th December, everyone gathered at the clubhouse for the Sunday Run to the Tank Ride Museum at Tamborine. Nine Classic Cars & 3 Moderns (people who needed air-conditioning on the very hot day) were carrying 23 people. Thomas & James Darke organised the clues we had to find on the way for the observation run, starting at the clubhouse. First clue was what can you buy for 13c? The answer was the price of fuel on the old bowser at the front of our clubhouse. A bit diff...erent to the price today. On leaving the clubhouse we all travelled to the M1 & started looking for clues which included counting all the bridges we passed underneath. We turned off at Exit 45 at Ormeau & travelled south towards Tamborine Village. Still finding clues (if we were lucky). We stopped at the Tank Ride & after morning tea we were given a tour & a very interesting talk by Tim. This was about all his unusual treasures he has stored in the shed. Included are a large display of military vehicles (including centurion tanks, trucks, motorcycles, trikes & bicycles, artefacts & collectables He also has the world’s only operational bridge laying tank. On leaving the Tank Museum we then continued further south to Canungra still looking for the clues. A delicious Lunch was enjoyed at the Canungra Hotel. The winners of the Observation Run were Peter & Bernadette Amey with Margaret Hession & Mona Fleming coming second. Thank you to Ben & Melissa Darke for organising the enjoyable but very different Sunday Run. A special thanks to Thomas & James for organising the clues to find & adjudicating We were told no correspondence would be entered into.. It is great to see the young members enjoying being involved in club activities.
