23.01.2022 The return of Archery at the GCAC still eludes us unfortunately 30th April 2020. Archery Australia News 2020-03 released today includes an updated set of guidelines for Archery activities moving forward. There are requirements affecting archers per target (1), lane spacing for social distancing, outdoor practice only (no competition) and other requirements. The Archery Australia guidelines will need to be followed during the period of transition back to a state of normality, ...as well as adhering to any Federal or State requirements with respect to Covid-19. As it stands today in Queensland, due to the outdoor social gathering limit of two people (29th March) which is still valid, we cannot yet resume Archery at the Gold Coast Archery Club. The relevant Queensland State Government limits on social gatherings (for Covid) can be found on this link: https://www.health.gov.au//limits-on-public-gatherings-for The Management committee is continuing to monitor the situation and is in the process of formulating a plan to get us back on the field as soon as we are allowed to do so, but expect that there will be limitations initially. Secretary GCAC Inc.

Come and Try sessions are yet to be scheduled, however we will make the Come and Try sessions available as soon as possible.
19.01.2022 Fingers crossed for a return to Archery activities for GCAC members on June 14th when Stage 2 easing of restrictions will have been introduced by the Queensland State Government. We will still have limitations on numbers though, along with the need to maintain social distancing (one archer per target), and a range of other measures in keeping with the Archery Australia guidelines. The Team app will be used for session registration, and practice sessions/days will be posted. N...o walk ups will be permitted - no Team app registration for the day, no start. If your a GCAC member and don't already have the app on your mobile device or PC, download it now and join the GCAC team. Stay tuned for more information and stay healthy.

The Club is appreciative of the opportunity provided by the Queensland Government Department of Sport and Recreation to advance the Olympic sport of Target Archery on the Gold Coast.

Initially, Archery activities will be limited to Club Members only. Details of the arrangements moving forward have been emailed to members. Any individuals who have already completed a Come & Try session at the club and wish to apply for membership should initially contact th...e Membership Officer via email at [email protected]. 09.01.2022 Looks like we will be returning a week early following the QLD State Governments decision to bring forward Stage 2 Easing of Restrictions. Information has been sent to members via email and Team app, expect that the event for Sunday 7th June will be posted on the GCAC Team (Team app) on Wednesday 3rd June. Numbers will be limited to 20. The limitation is set by the State Government, and out of our control.... The Committee will monitor demand for Sundays practice session, and have not ruled out the creation of two sessions in the future if necessary.
09.01.2022 SQAS has withdrawn Stage 1 guidelines it had provided only days ago, and recommended Clubs do not open as part of the Step 1 easing of restrictions. SQAS indicated that it would be working with Archery Queensland to seek an exemption for Archery. Regretfully, the GCAC Management Committee must inform all members that the planned return to Archery from the 20th May has now been postponed to a later date. It is expected that Stage 2 restrictions will apply from June 12 and will permit non-contact activity for up to 20 people. Hopefully, the ease in restrictions at Stage 2 will apply to Archery activities, and we can get back to the Gold Coast Archery Club sometime soon.
