24.01.2022 Thank you everyone who has confirmed their attendance at the upcoming "Genetic Diseases in Cats" seminar this coming Saturday, 11 March. We have now, unfortunately, reached a maximum number as we weren't able to get the original venue that I had booked and this venue a slightly smaller, so we are now at maximum. Apologies to anyone who was hoping to book in during this week, but hopefully we will have another similar event later in the year.

15.01.2022 Hi all exhibitors We are fast approaching our 6th Annual QFA 2 Day Showcase which will be held on the weekend of 21 & 22 March and entries close next Friday 6t...h March which still gives you time to get your entries in. It has become one of the major calendar events on the annual show calendar as a show to be remembered as everyone has an enjoyable weekend catching up with local and interstate friends and meeting new friends for a full weekend of showing, socialising and generally have a fun time full of chat and laughs. The Strathpine Community centre is AIR CONDITIONED with plenty of light which makes for a pleasant and comfortable day for both exhibitors and exhibits. We have great Judges from the USA, Victoria and Qld. Purina are sponsoring FOUR RINGS and OzPet are sponsoring TWO RINGS. In addition to the very generous sponsorship there will also be fabulous rosettes in every ring. I am sure that from the great range of stalls with wonderful things for you, your cats, and your cat loving friends there will plenty to tempt everyone. Looking forward to catching up and feel free to Robbie 0429 422 131 or email [email protected] if you have any questions regarding the show. Our show secretary Leilani is eagerly awaiting the entries and will also be only too willing to answer any questions you may have [email protected] . We look forward to catching up with you all for what promises to be a great weekend.
13.01.2022 On behalf of the members of the Gold Coast Cat Club I would sincerely like to thank Dr. Richard Malik for giving us his extremely valuable time to present the seminar on "Genetic diseases in cats" last Saturday. Usually anyone presenting a seminar would not normally give this amount of time, so all who came along to the afternoon, I am sure appreciated his mountain of invaluable knowledge. How do we thank a person of this caliber and one who is so dedicated. In his words, wh...atever problems we may come up with we need to make contact with people like him and take the time to get the samples he needs and send them to him. Contributing financially towards the research is a major way we can assist in helping researchers get to the right outcome. Thank you to everyone who has posted or contacted me and said how much they enjoyed his talk and we need to have more, which I will work on. Barb LaRocca President Gold Coast Cat Club See more

11.01.2022 Thank you and congratulations to all exhibitors who entered the show we had a great lineup and hope you all enjoyed your day. I would like to thank the hard working members on the Gold Coast Cat Club for their dedication in setting up, working all day yesterday and dismantling the show at the end of the day. The hard work of Ben Dyett as Show Secretary deserves acknowledgement and many thanks, it is a huge undertaking and all of the members thoroughly appreciate what you did ...for our club. To Kay who greets exhibitors and public as they enter the show hall and, has done so for many years, thank you so much. To all stewards and ring clerks, without your willingness to volunteer to work no show can go ahead, thank you from the bottom of my heart & congratulations on a job well done. A huge public attendance was visible all day at the show, which makes for wonderful interaction with the breeders. Thank you to Susan Shoring for organising such fabulous advertising which clearly, the results speak for themselves. To the judges on the day both interstate and homegrown we thank you for giving us your time and hope you enjoyed your day. We look forward to welcoming you to our next show in June. See more

01.01.2022 UPDATE: We are changing our close off date if our Koala fundraising a bit earlier. It will now close this Friday 22nd November. Hi everyone, as per usual the Gold Coast Cat Club members will be having their annual break up lunch and this year, instead of having a secret Santa gift one of our members suggested that we give that money to Currumbin Wildlife sanctuary who are treating the koalas injured by our devastating bush fires. We all thought this was a fabulous idea an...d if anyone other than our members would like to donate to this really worthy cause to help save our unique natural icon the koala then you can donate and do a direct deposit to our account. If you would like details of our account please PM me and I will forward it to you. It has proven to be a great success already and instead of doing a $10 secret Santa some are even donating more which is wonderful. This will all go to help buy necessary supplies to save our beautiful koalas . It is so sad what our country is going through at the present time. All donations will be acknowledged and I will post how much we’ve raised when we close it off. If all donations could be in our account prior to Friday 22nd November, we will close donations then. Thanking you in advance as well. See more
