25.01.2022 Here at Gold Coast Family Car Rentals, we make it part of our mission to give back to the community wherever and whenever possible. Recently, we decided to create a recycling station at our office, for drink containers attracting the 10cents rebate. We are collecting the containers, recycling, claiming the rebate and then returning the proceeds to six very deserving charities. We are encouraging all of our customers and locals alike to take advantage of this initiative. For... our customers, we have placed shopping bags in each vehicle. If you collect your containers/bottles during your stay, we will happily recycle them and remit the money equally amongst the six charities. You can find out more about this, initiative here: https://goldcoast.familycarrentals.com.au//recycling-for-c

24.01.2022 Here at Gold Coast Family Car Rentals we're all about family. In fact, many of our customers feel more like family to us than customers. We have many that have been renting cars from us yearly or even more frequently for several years or longer. Today we have a great story about family. You see, over the years we have had many instances where someone has rented a car from us and their parents, or their adult children have subsequently rented another car from us. It’s the clas...sic referral system in operation. But now, we have our very first coming of age rental experience here’s the background to it. In our first year of operation (2001), Donna and Michael Redmond of Victoria rented a car from us for their family holiday with their three daughters, Abbi; Yasmin and Paige. In the following years, many repeat Gold Coast holidays were part of the fabric of the Redmond family lifestyle and we were proud to be part of them. Well, the girls have now grown up and established families of their own. Two of Donna & Michael’s sons-in-law are also named Michael and the other one is Joseph. The Redmond clan has spread its wings, now it includes the Bryant; Chancellor; Dias families. All three daughters and their families added a nostalgic Gold Coast holiday to their recent trip to Noosa for a wedding. When they decided to rent a car each from us, they became our first ever 2nd generation renters (i.e. been with us as a child and then as an adult). Donna and Michael’s five grandchildren: Noah; Isla; Miller; Winter and Atlas are now lined up to become 3rd generation Gold Coast Family Car Rentals customers in the years to come. We look forward to more generational expansion of families who choose the Family Car Rentals family to help make their holidays enjoyable and affordable. Darryl, Denise & Grant Essington-Wilson Gold Coast Family Car Rentals P.S. For those who are sharp enough to see that there are twelve people in the photo and that we have named thirteen, young Atlas was in the land of nod, snugly nestled in the bus, when the photo was taken just prior to their departure for home. P.P.S. At Gold Coast Family Car Rentals we love a good story. Have you had a similar generational experience with any other company (car rental companies or otherwise? We'd love to hear your story. Please feel free to share your story below.

23.01.2022 We have recently added some new Yr2019 model vehicles to our rental fleet On 5th August, we bought 2 new Nissan Qashqai Mid-size SUV style vehicles. We invested a bit more and got the ST+ version which has GPS Navigation, Bluetooth hands free phone system, 360-degree surround cameras, front and rear parking sensors, hill start assist, cruise control, forward collision warning and lane departure warning and autonomous emergency braking, plus the rear passenger and cargo com...partment has privacy screen glass. They have a generous 1330mm rear seat hip room, providing enough room for 3 child seats (two of them ISOFIX). Between the two of them they have spent a total of only 10 days unrented out of the first 90 days (collective) in our fleet that’s an 89% utilisation rate, sensational in the car rental business and even by our standards it is very good. One of the cars was rented out 20 minutes after we picked it up and the other car went out the next morning.

15.01.2022 CALLING ALL BRIGHT SPARKS!!! Last week we posted some great news about our charity program. You can read all about that here: https://www.facebook.com/Gold-Coast-Family-Car-Rentals-130031337048669/... Unfortunately, we've had some bad news too... A number of our customers have informed us they have been diligently and enthusiastically collecting the drink containers and storing them in the bags that we have provided, but the cleaners at their hotels or resorts have taken the containers away on the eve of their departure. We had one large group who figured they had about 100 containers, but when they got back to the hotel on their last afternoon, all were gone! That's $10 that could have gone to charity and is instead now ending up in government consolidated revenue. Has anyone got any ideas on how we can fix this? (Please post below) For the person with the best idea, we will donate $100 to one of our chosen charities in your name.

11.01.2022 For everyone who is a woman or who has women that they love in their lives, this is a reminder of this week being National Breast Cancer Prevention Week

09.01.2022 Wonderful to see the passion and the pride and so many car enthusiasts gathered to enjoy this year’s Cooly Rocks. Certainly some spectacular cars exhibited. Every year the streets of Coolangatta play host to this incredible display of motoring history. Put it in your calendars for next year. It’s an iconic Gold Coast event not to be missed. #coolyrocks #carenthusiasts

06.01.2022 On 12th September, we added to our 2019 range of vehicles with 3 new MG3 automatic hatches, again we spent a bit more and got the up-market Excite model, with Bluetooth hands free phone system, Apple Carplay, rear parking camera and sensors, cruise control, hill start assist, emergency brake assist, active cornering brake control and electronic stability program. They have a very good 1320mm rear seat hip room, providing enough room for 3 child seats (two of them ISOFIX). T...wo of the cars were rented out the day we got them and the other one went out the next morning. They are all back and out again. Most new car acquisitions have to be bedded in for a while before they get any popularity in bookings, but these cars prove the rewards are there for those of us who supply customers with better-featured cars at rates which represent excellent value!

04.01.2022 We’ve recently had good news about our program encouraging our customers to bring back their empty drink containers when they return their cars at the end of the rental! The containers are then taken to the exchange centre and the cash proceeds are distributed amongst the six charities we support: *Beyond Blue *Currumbin Wildlife Hospital ... *Dementia Australia *Headspace *RSL DefenceCare *Variety the Children’s Charity Here’s the great news! We have established a Recycling for Charity webpage within the Charity section of our website, which contains links to information pages for each of the six charities, including a link for people to make direct donations should they wish so to do. https://goldcoast.familycarrentals.com.au//recycling-for-c We have recently been contacted by some of the charities to inform us that people are indeed making direct donations through this facility. Which is just incredible and really touches our hearts. Thank you so much to all the people concerned. We would also like to encourage others to make a contribution, either to individual charities or to all six in one go both ways are easy to find and follow on our website. It doesn’t matter how small your contribution is, it will be appreciated by the recipient charities and also by us. Cheers and thanks in advance Darryl
