23.01.2022 Practical strategies to help your teenager with depression : https://parents.au.reachout.com//help-your-teenager-with-d https://parents.au.reachout.com///things-to-try-depression

23.01.2022 Second group of Outdoor Ed beginner class headed off to White Rocks today!

22.01.2022 Great news! Currently, we are planning on going ahead with the colour run this year. We are aiming for the last day of term 3, as usual. We are still working ou...t the details given covid restrictions, but with things as they are as of right now, we are able to hold the event. More details to come...

22.01.2022 And Exhibition planning is well underway... our year 6 students are currently unpacking the concept Change.... I wonder where it will lead them too...

21.01.2022 Congratulations Gold Creek - we did it! We came first in the ACT for the Education Perfect Maths Championships for 2020. Thank you to all students who took the time to smash out extra answers. By the way, we came 9th in Australia and 18th in the world.

21.01.2022 Our first group of beginner Outdoor Ed class had their first excursion today at White Rocks near Queanbeyan. In the first picture Mr De Zylva is doing acknowledgement of Country - what a beautiful spot for it. (An 'Acknowledgement of Country' is an opportunity to acknowledge, and pay respect, to the Traditional Owners and ongoing custodians of the land - the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Acknowledgements are often made at the commencement of an event, such as a meeting, speech or formal occasion.

21.01.2022 Year 8 senior site library workshop run by our teacher librarian Bianca, is about referencing and using library resources.

19.01.2022 Breakfast Club at Gold Creek School Breakfast Club is a school-based club run by Student Services in conjunction with the Community Connections class. It operates on Wednesday mornings on the Senior Campus from 8am until 8:45am from weeks 2 to 9 of the school terms. The aim is to provide a free breakfast to students and allows teachers, the Youth Worker (Eva) and students to connect in a positive, safe and relaxed environment. Our Breakfast Club has grown in popularity ov...er the past 12 months with as many as 50 60 students now showing up each week. It is also attracting students from the Junior Campus, who are often dropped off with older siblings. Due to increased demand and escalating food prices it was becoming more and more difficult to sustain the program long term. However, due to the generous donation from Supabarn Casey we can continue to operate and meet the increasing needs of our students. On Wednesday, 4 August it was such an honor to have James; the new Casey Supabarn Manager visit our Breakfast Club so he could see first-hand the difference this contribution was making to our students and to meet the staff who make this initiative a reality. It was wonderful to see James interacting with the students and for them to explain in their own words why they come to the Breakfast Club. It was also vital that collectively as a school we had the opportunity to personally thank him and Supabarn for their ongoing support in 2020. The collaboration between Supabarn and Gold Creek School is a great example of the local Community working together to create a positive outcome; happy, healthy students who are nourished in order to learn. Thanks, Supabarn!
