16.01.2022 Hey here's Dillon I am a psychology student at the University of Adelaide. I am very excited to be interning with the Gold Foundation as a youth group facilitator. While attending uni, I enjoyed travelling to Malawi, Africa, where I worked as an assistant teacher at an international school meeting children from a wide range of backgrounds! I also joined a socially sustainable energy project to help the community.... Hobbies: play sport, cook, and enjoy the simple things in life, whether that's going for a walk through the countryside or relaxing by the beach! So far, I have loved meeting all the beautiful people who come to youth group and can just be themselves and have fun in a friendly environment. Friendship is so powerful, and it's been gratifying to see everyone make real connections. Some of you may see me already on Opening Day last week, and I look forward to seeing ALL of you this year!!!

10.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE TO YOUTH GROUP PAYMENT METHODS Dear All, We are writing to provide an update regarding how we accept casual and full program bookings/payments for our Youth Group events, held on Friday nights at our centre.... The existing two options for paying have been: 1) Pay for the whole program at once via EFT or in-person 2) Pay casually per session at the door. From today: 1) If you would like to pay for Youth Group for the remainder of 2020 all at once, please do so on TryBooking for $100 via the following link: https://www.trybooking.com/book/event?eid=652703& 2) For casual (one-off) sessions, we ask that whenever possible, families book/pay through TryBooking prior to attending a Youth Group session. This will help us to know who is coming and how many people are coming. This option will replace the ‘expression of interest’ through TryBooking. The cost of attending a regular Youth Group session will remain $10 for the remainder of 2020, unless there is a special event which may require an additional cost. Access the Trybooking page to pay casually here: https://www.trybooking.com/book/event?eid=652672& We will still have the option of paying at the door (cash or EFTPOS) for times when pre-paying is not possible, so if you have not pre-paid online, we ask that you come in at the start of the session and speak to a member of our crew about paying for the session. Also, please email all invoice requirements to Jesse at [email protected] even if you have spoken to a crew member about it. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. 04.01.2022 LOOKING TO CROWDFUND & BUILD A COFFEE CART FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WITH ASD! Gold Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation providing support for young people with ASD and their families. It all started in 2007 when my younger brother Connor Pangallo was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome and our Mother was told that at the time "there was little or no support available" and to "not expect too much and that he won't achieve much". So she then "refused" that advice and together with... a few other like-minded families went on a journey to build what we now know as Gold Foundation now servicing over 600 young people with ASD. That same boy who was told he "wouldn't achieve much" is now studying Law & International Relations at Flinders University and working part-time for the Premier of South Australia. We are currently looking at building an Australian First "Shine Like Gold!" Coffee Cart where young people can learn to build real life practical skills through paid workplace employment. It will be a Coffee Cart entirely run by young people with ASD and will serve a massive part of our local community (as well as other communities and schools we plan to visit with the Coffee Cart) and give them a sense of purpose and achievement in their lives. The plan is to crowdfund $10,000 to assist in helping design and build the infrastructure for our Coffee Cart (or we may simply just buy an existing one and brand it) as well as materials and ongoing stock and recruitment (Coffee Machine, Coffee Beans, Small Fridge, Milk, Sugar, Condiments & Labour). We also plan to sell delicious Greek sweets that my 83 year old Grandma plans to make and we sell every week! Exciting stuff I know Hope you can help support our cause and of course a reminder that all donations are tax deductible! https://gofund.me/a01e9aa9

02.01.2022 A truly tragic story and at a time where we should be helping one another even more.....this is sometimes an unfortunate result of social isolation. I've personally donated to this cause as I strongly believe that kids like Hayden deserve better. One of the reasons why I decided to stop pursuing my career in Marketing in Sydney and move back to Adelaide was to support my little brother Connor of whom has Asperger's as my family saw him fall through the cracks within his teenage years and who was on a similar trajectory to Hayden. Without early intervention and a support network, which I truly believe Gold Foundation provides kids like Hayden who experience social isolation and anxiety unfortunately end up on the wrong end. A tragic loss.

01.01.2022 *CHARITY HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE WITH ASPERGER'S LOOKING FOR LIKE MINDED PARTNERS TO JOIN US* Hi there! WHO WE ARE? ... We are a not for profit organisation known as Gold Foundation and we provide support for young people with Asperger Syndrome (High Functioning Autism) and their families. Over the past 15 years we have developed a successful holistic model by going above and beyond by providing a ‘Home away from Home’ with ongoing opportunities for these young people and their families to engage, thus creating a ‘community’. OPPORTUNITES AT OUR NEW CENTRE The Gold Foundation is extending an invitation for partners to join our family and provide value-added services to our ever-growing database of over 580 young people aged 6-28 years old (and their extended families). Our aim is to market your service to our growing database as a suite of programs & help to our members. Our new facility and rooms within the Camden Community Centre is safe, welcoming and in a beautiful, quaint neighbourhood. A new commercial playground sits in the central garden area which leads to an open undercover large pergola for guests, or through to the table tennis/recreation space. We have refurbished the facility which includes a self-contained cottage (fully resourced) and extensive outdoor fully fenced gardens. We invite you to contact us directly or visit our site if you’re working with young people with disability within the health, medical industry or community services. Please contact Alex Zenios on 0468 995 818 or [email protected]
