02.01.2022 To all our valued patients, We may be closed for routine dental work however we are here for you if you experience a dental emergency! Presently, our phone lines will be attended on Monday-Friday from 8.30am until 4.30pm (07 55386277)... Please note our practice is closed to walk in patients. You need to call prior so we may determine if you fit the criteria for a dental emergency as mandated by our Level 3 restrictions from the Australian Dental Association. Restrictions are limited to the following: Extreme pain Infection, Facial swelling Dental trauma or a dental condition that if left untreated could result in a worsening of general health. Hence we need to defer all routine dental work such as: Tooth extractions (without pain or swelling) Broken/chipped tooth/teeth Loose teeth (that aren't a choking hazard) Bleeding or sore gums Denture concerns Crowns and bridges Scale and Clean Jaw issues (clicking/grating) These restrictions are in place as when dentists work on your teeth, they can produce aerosols-droplets or sprays of saliva or blood into the air. This happens routinely when you visit your dentist for your scaling & cleaning, also for fillings when the drills are used. Our practice follows stringent infection control measures under all circumstances which are elevated under the current conditions. These conditions may change at any time. But with the coronavirus pandemic, there is an increased risk of aerosols carrying the virus directly infecting dental staff and surfaces. This transmission may be possible even if you feel well as not everyone with the virus has the symptoms. We will be screening all emergency patients prior to treatment for the safety of everyone.
