25.01.2022 Hey Everyone! Great days racing and we can do it all again tomorrow. Was so good to see so many kids out giving it a try. So many smiles and best of all, the ambos had nothing to do all day. In the comments is a link to the overall results, if you went home early and want your prize, ask someone tomorrow or send us a message. Thank you everyone for attending. https://www.gcmtb.com.au//2/08/Nerang-Flowtime-Results.pdf
25.01.2022 Hey Dirt Groms! Tomorrow we are checking out the NEW trails at Reedy Creek, so new I had draw the red one in by hand! Please note, drop off is at the end of Barden Ridge Rd, pick up will be on the corner of Cordyline Dr and Kingscrest Dr. We will be doing Drop Bear, Cascades, Cockys Climb, then Rabbits Run to finish. This makes one less climb for the kids. Anyone who is riding with the kids will need to make a decision which location to start at! Plenty of berms so we will be concentrating on corners. Registration via the link below: https://online.mtba.org.au/ERegister.aspx?E=8459

17.01.2022 GCMTB would like to thank the users of the Nerang National Park mountain bike trails for your support and patience during a difficult and testing year. The year started off with some amazing torrential rain flooding the velodrome and washed out a few of the newer trails works, but it wasn’t long before COVID reared its ugly head impacting everyone. During the tough restrictions however, we were very lucky that QPWS allowed Nerang National Park to remain open when many other ...National Parks closed. This was a mental and physical health lifeline for so many people. The year also presented other significant challenges with the abrupt decommissioning of the popular and historical Norco and Whimps trails following a spate of unapproved trail modifications. A tumultuous couple of months followed until the Co-design project was announced by the Queensland Government and the Hon. Meaghan Scanlon as a mechanism to bring key stakeholders together to work towards approving a number of unsanctioned trails from the Dirt Art audit and closing some trails or trail sections in highly sensitive or threatened ecosystems. GCMTB coordinated a working group including Friends of Nerang Forest Trails, NTCA and other mountain bikers to develop a submission to Stage 1 of the Co-design project. This also included an online survey achieving 558 responses. On 11 December Stage 2 of the project, a stakeholder workshop was held to mainly to get an understanding of each stakeholder’s perspectives. There will be some interim actions arising from the workshop which we hope we can share with you in January once verified. We wish you the very best with your mountain bike adventures over the Xmas break, but also ask you all to respect the trails and the environment you and we ride in, look after other riders and trail users. 15.01.2022 This represents Step 1 of a multi-step process in the co-design project which is aiming to achieve a sustainable mountain bike trail network and a PRIORITISED program of works to authorise trails. The purpose of this survey is to sample as many opinions of Nerang National Park Mountain bike users as possible to help inform the Co-design project GCMTB is embarking on with the Queensland Government. The survey is open to ALL trail users and will close Monday 7th September.... https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSfedscVS9PLP0-U3/viewform

08.01.2022 You might have noticed the barriers on the entrance to the Cycle Centre lately. These have been erected by City of Gold Coast, Major Sporting Venues due to an incident that happened a few weeks ago where a young girl was injured. This is a temporary measure while a more permanent solution is being discussed. You can still enter via the path to the right, but please slow down and look around for other users.
08.01.2022 Groms is on again tomorrow from the Nerang Cycle Centre, starting at 7.30am. The forecast is 70% chance of rain but <1mm which is nothing really. Dont forget to register using the link below.
08.01.2022 GCMTB has received information from QPWS regarding Step 1 of the Co-design project. Step 1 entails developing a prioritised trail plan and report due by the 11th September. GCMTB will be gathering input from the wider mountain bike community on the trail plan, details of this will be announced soon. Following steps in the co-design project will involve negotiations between the various stakeholders (MTB users are only one stakeholder in the process) to achieve a prioritised p...rogram of works and an agreed environmentally sustainable trail network in Nerang National Park. GCMTB have been working extensively behind the scenes with Meaghan Scanlon and the Department of Environment and Science, and have been assured there will no more trail closures until we receive further notice during the co-design process. However, we need to point out recent illegal trails built since the Dirt Art audit are not included in the co-design project. GCMTB does not support the building of illegal trails and any further illegal building could place the co-design project in jeopardy. See more

This is valid for our CX race and also Dirt Groms.... "Unfortunately, the MTB event registration system MOS is not able to verify the new AusCycling memberships in TidyHQ.
