20.01.2022 The MIMSafe Variogate is a removable gate system designed to turn your entire boot area into one large crate. You can do this by using both a Variogate and a Variobarrier HR (cargo barrier) to ensure your dog stays safely in the cargo area. The Variogate is one of our best selling items across Australia and New Zealand. Like all of our products, it is adjustable (width, depth, height and angle of the doors) and you do not require any tools to install the item. The item is rem...ovable in a matter of minutes and no modifications are required to be made to your vehicle. The Variogate has adjustable height poles to adjust to the opening of the cargo space. The MIMSafe Variogate comes in three different adjustable WIDTH sizings. You should purchase the product that will adequately cover the boot opening. #mimsafe #blackhoundenterprises #goldcoastdogs #dogsofthegoldcoast

13.01.2022 Today can is a particularly difficult day for dogs being Halloween and a severe Thunderstorm forecast for this afternoon. Many dogs will find the constant stream of people coming to the door over-whelming and over-stimulating. Resulting in unwanted behaviour like barking, anxiety or even aggression in some cases. Do your dog a favour and keep them away from all the hustle and bustle of Halloween, especially if they are over the top in their behaviour (as they are not learni...ng any good by being over the top) or anxious. Prep some KONGs and freeze them like I did this morning. Mine are stuffed with soaked kibble and some left over mashed sweet potato I had in the fridge. My dogs are KONG experts so theirs are frozen solid. Don't freeze your dog's KONGs unless your dog is experienced using them. Otherwise, they will get frustrated and not interact with them. The level of difficulty of the KONG should reflect your dogs ability and experience. Make them easy for the food to come out for beginners, and intermediate for semi-experienced dogs. Then feezing solid for dogs like mine who are well versed in using KONGs. You can also use bones, scatter feeding of treat/kibble every time there is a knock / noise at the door or clap of thunder. Your dog will soon learn the noise suddenly brings good thing like treats and won't feel the need to bark and carry on. Remember to keep chocolate away from your dog as well!

02.01.2022 Let's talk sticks and dogs. Now lots of people understand why throwing sticks for dogs is dangerous.... as they often become sharp objects that get embedded in the mouth of the dog. But let's talk sticks no the ground. ... We had some branches cut off a tree this week as they were falling and about to fall on the house. As you can imagine there were small sticks left all over the ground. I had made a mental note to come and collect as many as I could knowing if one of the dogs ran into them at high speed they could injure themselves. Well things happened that afternoon and my mind was on other things and I forgot to clean up the sticks. Later the next day I was away and a friend came and let the dogs out for me and Nudge my youngest, fast-moving accident-prone Aussie Shepherd ran and a stick pierced his leg in a couple of places. My friend immediately took him our Vet and he had surgery for cleaning and stitches both internal and external. So the sticks don't have to be thrown to be a danger for dogs. I have also known dogs who have had similar accidents and the stick has pierced their chest or stomach by out running at the park or bush. The moral of the story be aware of your surroundings I was and I didn't get to collect them up in time. Now we have an injury to manage. He will be ok, in fact, he is ok. He is back to happy goofball Nudge. As you can see by the pictures he is super stress in his crate last night
