23.01.2022 Always turn around and see what is happening behind you. I took this photo at 6:16 AM on 31.7.16. I was at The Spit to photograph the Sunrise at 6:29.

21.01.2022 Just before and after sunset the rocks become a vibrant orange colour. There were a few people taking photos, but eveyone else left too early. Definitely need a tripod, patience and warm clothes.

20.01.2022 Hi and Welcome. I look forward to seeing many past and future students adding some comments, and hopefully some images here too.

20.01.2022 New Years Eve 31.12.18. Surfers Paradise Beach, Gold Coast.

19.01.2022 With the beautiful weather and comfortable daytime temperatures this time of year, the on-location photography courses are an excellent opportunity to learn to use your camera NOW, as Spring will be upon us very soon. Springtime is a great time to capture new plant life, flowers, baby birds and new-born animals. Skill and preparation are the key ingredients to great photography. Get the skills now and be prepared!

13.01.2022 One minute later - this is what I came to photograph. Preparation meeting opportunity.

10.01.2022 During a recent Sunset Workshop, my student was using my tripod, but the opportunity to capture this scene was too good to miss. Here's the tech stuff ISO 640, shutter 1/8s, F5.6, 160mm focal length. Hand holding at 1/8s can be a challenge - especially at 160mm. The Sony A850 is 8 years old now, so the ISO at 640 is not comparable to the new cameras, hence the 'noise' in the image.... So with a bit of practice and knowledge you can still get an image which is acceptable - and that's better than not having any image. If you want to learn how, do one of our Workshops.

07.01.2022 October 2018, one of my best mates (also one of my former Photo Students) and I travelled to Tasmania for 5 Days. The purpose being to scout for locations for future Photo Tours as a joint venture. I'll continue to post photos on a regular basis, as I get time to process them, (at the moment it's still 'personal work').

04.01.2022 Somewhere between Hobart and Swansea!

03.01.2022 Learn the art of shooting landscapes and people on location with minimum equipment - camera, tripod (optional) and your on-camera flash. No need for expensive and tricky wireless flash set-ups or reflectors. Keep it simple.
