04.01.2022 When we issued a notification of suspended planning over two months ago, we held genuine hopes that the opportunity to deliver an event as scheduled in July would present itself. While the COVID-19 situation is still evolving on a daily basis, WorldSport has had to make the difficult decision to reschedule the 30th Anniversary Gold Coast Rugby Carnival to July 2021. This decision was based on the updated directives of the Queensland Government in regards to Coronavirus (COV...ID-19) restrictions. The Queensland Government’s strong approach to addressing the COVID-19 threat which includes restricted gatherings, reduced travel opportunities and a declaration that the Queensland Public Health Emergency has been extended to 17 August 2020 makes it impossible to deliver this year’s Carnival in July. We are disappointed that we are unable to hold this event for our loyal players, managers and supporters. Having spent the past 10 months preparing for the event with our advisory boards, tour managers, travel and event partners, we are genuinely upset and disappointed not to be able to host you at this time. We want to thank all our customers and partners for their support, open discussions and encouragement through these unprecedented times. Our focus is now to the future and we are very excited to reschedule our 30th Anniversary Gold Coast Rugby Carnival to the 5th to the 10th July 2021. We aim to ensure this event is one of our biggest and best in honour of our 30 year history. We look forward to a bigger and better 2021! The WorldSport Team
