24.01.2022 JUNIORS - We had our last training/game on Wed afternoon which wraps up the 2020 season. It was a super fun end to a crazy season. We're all looking forward to the 2021 kickoff first Wednesday of Feb!!!! Anyone interested in playing, get in touch over the off-season so we can hit the ground running...(rink skating) early next season!! Gold Coast Stars, you are exactly that!!!!! Well done, through all the craziness, you still managed to work on your skills, skating, teamwork ...and have fabulous sportsmanship. We are all very proud of you!! Bring on Feb 2021 and keep practicing at home!! At this stage SENIOR drop in games are still being played Wed evenings at 7pm.

19.01.2022 Here is our "Gold Coast Stars" promo video... So awesome!!!

18.01.2022 Our State of Origin series (renamed the "Grunske Cup") wrapped up with Qld claiming the trophy and series win today. Game 1 saw Qld win by one goal, game 2 was a draw and game 3 was taken out by NSW leaving a tied series. After an exhaustive penalty shootout in extra time, Qld came away with the win!!!!! What a finale, 3 of the best games of hockey we've seen all season with absolutely nothing in it between the two sides.... There were spills, there were thrills, there were roudy support crews in both camps, two teams led by amazingly talented coaches and reffed by our own Mike Grunske (head coach), who is hanging up his boots after this weekend, but leaving on a high. In his words...."I couldn't be prouder of how the kids conducted themselves over the series. When I first thought of this, I had no idea what an awesome spectacle it would become. It took the whole 3 weeks and 15+ shoot-outs to separate the teams by 1 goal. It was played in the right spirit. The skill level and how they now think about the game would be an asset to any team at any level." We all continued to celebrate throughout the afternoon with some swimming, shooting, archery, swinging and axe throwing to top off a great day!! Thank you to everyone for making the "Grunske family send off" a spectacular day... They will certainly be missed by all!!!! Training continues on Wednesdays leading up to the season finale tournament up at Digi later this month......no rest for the wicked!!

12.01.2022 Even our youngest players (4&7) get in there with the bigger kids!

11.01.2022 Round 1 of STATE OF ORIGIN Junior Inline Hockey was a NAIL-BITER! QLD coming away with the win 2-1, although NSW was unlucky with numerous shots hitting the posts, it really could have gone either way!! Brilliant reffing by Mr Grunske, some EPIC goal saves by Dakota and Jason, the coaches rallying their teams from the dugouts! The MCing was entertaining and the noise from the sidelines cheering their teams on could be heard throughout Tweed and Banora!... Thankyou to Marisa for the photography, capturing the excitement and showcasing some of our youngest players up against the oldest - both giving it everything they've got!! We are looking forward to seeing if NSW can take out round 2 and even the score...stay tuned.....

10.01.2022 The winning goal and QLD takes the series in 2020!!

08.01.2022 ROUND 2 STATE OF ORIGIN QLD vs NSW was grid-locked at 2-2, leaving Round 3 next Sunday as the decider!!! Another tight game with incredible shots at goal denied by epic defence on both teams! Replacement goalies were called in for both teams (one in recovery with a thumb injury, the other suffering dehydration from a relentless Qld attack). Wed night training will be critical for both teams...who will take home the cup and claim the glory??????... ....stay tuned for the final result.... Anticipation is killing us all...... (If you are interested in your kids playing next season, get in touch U9, U11, U13, U15)

02.01.2022 Too much fun had by all!!!!
