17.01.2022 Hi everyone, We have had a number of enquiries about our upcoming events and we wanted to keep you up to date with where we're at. At this stage, all remaining events in our 2019/2020 race calendar will be proceeding as scheduled. This includes Triathlon Pink Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast Triathlon, Moreton Bay Triathlon and the 7 News Gold Coast Running Festival.... Queensland Health is currently advising there is no need to cancel any events or gatherings, or take additional precautions to normal practice. People who are unwell should not attend public events. However, it’s important to note the health and safety of staff, competitors, officials, and volunteers will remain our key priority at all times. As such, The Event Crew will be closely monitoring the situation over the coming weeks, and will heed any and all advice from relevant authorities and stakeholders including the Australian Government, Queensland Health and the World Health Organisation. The Event Crew will provide further updates as required and registered competitors will be the first to know of any change of circumstances. We appreciate that it's an uncertain time and participants are after answers however this is an evolving situation and we're managing it on an ongoing basis. 10.01.2022 We know you’ve been wondering what is happening with the upcoming Gold Coast Triathlon, scheduled to take place on April 5th 2020. Due to the government advisory, the event will not be going ahead on the planned date and we are currently working with venues, councils, governing bodies and all interested parties to make alternate plans. Please bear with us while we work through this - we will update you in the coming days as soon as we have something to report. We know that a... lot of people will be disappointed that the event isn’t going ahead as planned (as are we!) however we want to make sure we prioritise the health and safety of not only you as our participants, but the wider community we impact including staff, contractors, suppliers, officials, volunteers, medical, venues staff, traffic control and police. We appreciate all the support and understanding everyone has offered, we certainly have some challenges to come. We have taken the measure of putting a hold on taking any additional entries at this stage for our remaining events and we will issue a full position statement on Monday after the government directive is handed down on Sunday afternoon. Please rest assured we will look after you, we just don’t have the admin processes in place today to deal with refunds and transfers (yes, you will be given the option a transfer or refund for cancelled events should you wish). MASKS - mask use is compulsory for everyone at all times at the venue. Competitors are not required to wear one whilst waiting to start or during competition. You will need to provide your own mask. CLUB TENTS - tents will be allowed under our approved covid safe plan however we remind all clubs that it is their responsibility to maintain... the 4 person per 3x3m rule. HAND SANITISER - please use hand sanitiser regularly throughout the morning. There will be hand sanitiser stations positioned throughout the venue. CONTACT TRACING - spectators and anyone not registered to race are required to check in using the Qld Governments Check In Qld app. This can be downloaded in advance and the QR code scanned upon entry (posters will be throughout the venue). Competitors are not required to check in using the app as we have all your contact information on file.

02.01.2022 Well it sure was a good feeling to get our first event done since the complete shut down of events in March! We were super proud of everyone that was involved i...n the 7 News Gold Coast Running Festival at the start of April. As the first event with over 500 participants to operate under the COVID Safe requirements in Queensland it wasn’t easy, but we are glad we persevered and delivered for everyone. We now look forward to delivering more events over the coming months (and have approved COVID Safe events through October already). As a family owned small event management business we as much as anyone understand the trials and tribulations of this pandemic. We also very much understand we are all in this together with all our customers, employees, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders. We have been overwhelmed with the support that has been offered us from everyone and that is why we continue to offer the COVID Refund Guarantee should any of our events be unable to run due to COVID-19 restrictions in the future. Our COVID Refund Guarantee is that we are offering full refund (less the online transaction fee) to all entries across all events should we have to cancel due to COVID-19.
