23.01.2022 #TheSpit | Part of the Seaway Promenade will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday 23rd June, while the Bureau of Meteorology relocates some equipment. A crane will be in operation so for safety reasons, the below area in blue will be temporarily closed off. You will still be able to access the beach via the path south of the Seaway Kiosk. We thank you for your understanding.

22.01.2022 The road into Doug Jennings Park will be temporarily closed to traffic tomorrow morning. This is so we can safely finish off some mowing and maintenance works near the edges of the roadside. Alternative parking is available near the Seaway Kiosk. Pedestrian access also remains open into the Park. We hope to have it all tidied up and open again by mid-morning. Thanks for your understanding.

21.01.2022 We’re excited to be bringing the community’s vision for The Spit to life! Work starts next week on the Seaway Promenade and Moondarewa Spit foreshore improvements and should be finished in time for Christmas. We’ve awarded the construction contracts to Burleigh Heads firm, Hazell Bros Queensland. Take a sneak peek below. #SpitMasterPlan #UniteAndRecover #AdvancingQLD

21.01.2022 We're pushing ahead with dredging works, ensuring vital transport links remain open for the Gold Coast's marine industries. We’re putting a temporary path in place between Wednesday 1st July and Wednesday 15th July.... You can read more about the project here: https://gcwa.qld.gov.au/works-underway-to-improve-access-t/

19.01.2022 #TheSpit | As a part of our Sand Bypass System Jetty upgrades, there will be some temporary closures to beach access during weekdays from time to time over the next month. When the path is closed, there'll be signs to direct you to an alternative access path. However, we will ensure pedestrian access remains open every weekend, including this long weekend. Have a safe and happy break!

11.01.2022 #SpitMasterPlan | We want to know what you think! We’ve been working with Burleigh Heads based design agency, Relative Creative, to develop two placemaking and identity concepts for The Spit. Building on the standards established through The Spit Public Realm Guidelines, the final placemaking identity will be threaded through the precincts as projects roll out, giving The Spit its own unique brand. In the future you’ll see this incorporated on things such as signage, social m...edia posts and even street furniture. We love both concepts so we’re turning it over to you, the Gold Coast community, to tell us what you like about each of them. From there, we’ll incorporate your feedback into the final concept so The Spit has an identity we can all be proud of. To check out the concepts and provide your feedback, visit here: https://gcwa.qld.gov.au/the-spit-placemaking-identity-stra/ #HaveYourSay #AdvancingQLD #UniteAndRecover Growing Queensland RelativeCreative
