25.01.2022 Healthy Fats For many years there was a health misconception based on naïve reasoning. Dietary fats were thought to be bad. People didnt want to be fat, so they avoided eating fat. This sounded right, but it was a huge mistake.... There are some unhealthy fats that should be avoided. But there are also many fats that are necessary for healthy living. We need Essential Fatty Acids to absorb vitamins and regulate blood and hormones. We can only get these Fatty Acids through some healthy fat in the diet. Omega 3 fat got a lot of press in the late 1990s. Without omega 3 in our diet we suffer mood disorders and compromised thinking, and raise the risk of heart problems. Nuts, fish and flax all contain omega 3. Monounsaturated fats are also needed in our diet. They stabilize blood sugar and insulin levels, lower the risk of heart problems, reduce bad cholesterol, and increase life expectancy. Extra virgin olive oil and avocados are a good source of monounsaturated fats. Saturated fats are controversial. Some appear to be good in moderation, like coconut oil. Others, usually found in baked goods, are really junk food. There needs to be a distinction made here, and perhaps a different name. The fats that are liquid at body temperature appear to be the healthy variety. Sticking with unprocessed food helps us eat more healthy fats. Include exercise, meditation, social interaction and the healthiest diet possible in order to live a more enjoyable life. Regular massage is also recommended for healthy living. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #lessstress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #benefitsmassage #reasonmassage #optimalhealth #thaimassage #healthfats #omega3 #enhancemind #improvecognition

25.01.2022 The Right Stand Our body language and posture are linked to out mood. If we slouch we will find ourselves feeling depressed, or at least unenthusiastic. If we stand up straight we tend to take things more seriously. Some people find that can build confidence (perhaps before speaking in public) by holding themselves in a dominant position. Other fight depression be standing on one leg and acting a little odd. Linguists have noticed that individuals who speak in a formal manner... (Received Pronunciation) will almost always hold themselves up straight. This actually benefited speech and pronunciation. We can change our like by simply changing the way we stand. Posture can certainly affect your health. Of course poor posture when sitting or standing can lead to a bad back. But this can go further and cause poor circulation that compromises health, and a bad back with poor circulation will really tend to make us prematurely tired. Weight issues will complicate posture. If we are overweight we will find it hard to stand or sit straight. This can be a vicious circle as being overweight and having bad posture will make us tired, making it harder to exercise and lose weight. Occasionally there are hard to discern links with posture. If we are short-sighted we will tend to lean forward to look at a computer screen, and this compromises our back. Alternately, poor posture when sleeping will lead to posture issues, and probably other problems, during the day. More than a few headaches and other issues have been caused or exacerbated by poor posture. Stand straight, exercise, eat well, meditate, and have a regular massage. Life is better when we are fully operational. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #posture #goodposture #stand #standstraight.

24.01.2022 Clogged Hair Follicle Hair follicles can become clogged for many reasons. Heavy makeup, clothes that rub against this skin, heavy sweat, unclean water in spas, or skin exposed to oil can all clog a follicle. Hair follicles on the scalp can also be cogged because of overproduction of sebum. Clogged follicle on the body is an irritation, occasionally leading to an infection. This is most common on the legs and back of the arms. Clogged follicles on the scalp can lead to hair lo...ss. Removing dead skin by exfoliation, using a slightly rough instrument like an exfoliation glove or nail brush, can greatly reduce the number of clogged follicles. Some people find that scrubbing the arms or legs with bicarbonate of soda and water can also help. Hair and follicles on the head are helped with massage, and with any hair products that balance the oils. Individuals with oily hair can use a shampoo that slightly dries the hair and scalp. Individuals with dry can use products that add moisture. Massage, which helps circulation and boosts the immune system, can reduce problems with blocked follicles. If it best combined with a regular skin exfoliation. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #lessstress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #benefitsmassage #reasonmassage #optimalhealth #thaimassage #exfoliation #skinexfoliation #cloggedfolicle #blockedfolicle

24.01.2022 Health and Aging. We probably all want to live longer and healthier lives. Some of us go to great lengths in an attempt to achieve this. Others think a healthier lifestyle is too much effort. But if a healthier lifestyle means enjoying a better lifestyle, then the effort is worth it. All the better if we live longer. -Get rid of as much sugar as possible. There is enough natural sugar in fruit and other food. Our skin will look better is we eat less sugar.... -Drink clean water. This helps our health and appearance in so many ways. Extremely high amounts of water can wash the salt out of our bodies, so make sure there is a little salt too, but otherwise water is safe. -Eat plenty of fruit, nuts and vegetables. The antioxidants in these are essential for health and looking young. Eat protein. This is essential for collagen underneath the skin, energy, preventing weight gain and stable blood sugar levels. -Lift weights and put on some muscle. This need not be obvious, but some muscle mass will help us burn calories and feel better. -Eat healthy fats, including omega3. Fish, nuts, olive oil and avocados are good sources. -Reduce stress. The cortisol from stress causes us many problems, from weight gain to increased risk of heart disease. Reduce daily stress by making some personal achievements, reaching a few goals, socializing, playing with children, and doing a few things that you find enjoyable. -Find a way to sleep well. Poor sleep increases stress and compromises everything in our mental and physical health. -A regular massage makes all the difference to stress, health and wellbeing. Especially good for the stress we cant otherwise be rid of. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #benefitsmassage #reasonmassage #optimalhealth #ageing #antiaging

24.01.2022 Living Better - Connecting to Others Philosophies and religions debate the existence of moral laws and the considerations we are obliged to show others. But whether it is for reasons of social harmony or for a higher spiritual truth these social interactions seem necessary. Quite probably co-operation with others is part of how we wired up to live. We are social creatures. And if we compromise our social interaction we compromise ourselves. Some research strongly suggests tha...t addiction issues and emotional problems stem from poor connection to families and others. This poor connection was once interpreted as an effect of addiction. At the very least strong family connections were seen as an important part of any recovery process. Living better includes honest and healthy living, social connections and consideration of all others. Massage is recommended for better health and living. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #sleepbetter #goodhealth #sociallife

23.01.2022 Add a Little to Life Our health, wellbeing and lives in general may be complex, but sometime a complex system can benefit from a few small changes. Just adding a few things to our diet can make all the difference to our health and mood. Turmeric This significantly reduces inflammation in the body, including the brain. It helps memory, especially as we age, and reduces skin damage from the Sun. A teaspoon per day can make a difference. Omega 3 Found in fish, flaxseed, nu...ts and many other things. This is great for mood, many people with mild depression or similar mental issues found that omega 3 made a huge difference. Also good for healthy skin and weight loss. Blueberries Great for skin, collagen, memory and health in general. Anti-aging benefits. Green tea Many teas seem to have a few health benefits. Cocoa the sugar in chocolate is bad, but the dark cocoa is super healthy. This helps cognitive function, some weight loss and has some anti-aging benefits. Cinnamon Keeps blood sugar levels consistent, and prevents cognitive decline in old age. Ginger anti-inflammatory, reduces pain after exercise, and combats or helps mage type two diabetes. Make exercise, meditation, good health and a regular massage a part of your lifestyle. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits

20.01.2022 Social Mood Our mood affects others around us, as their mood can affect us. The mood we find ourselves in might be the result of life problems we must work through, a bad situation, or just the company we keep. Sometime it can be hard to find the cause of our mood, so we dont know what to change.... Being in a better state of mind, a better mood, is a good thing, so long as we use the good state of mind to get ahead and solve challenges rather than use a good mood to remain complacent about our situation. A good mood means being active and alert, not living in ignorant bliss. If we can live in a way that generates a good mood we can have a positive influence on those around us. This may do more good than most advice and counselling. A good mood can be contagious, and the thing we need to handle life well and enjoy life a little more. Regular massage is one fine way to improve our health and mood, and it may even have a positive influence on those around us. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #lessstress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #benefitsmassage #reasonmassage #optimalhealth #thaimassage #mood

18.01.2022 Clear Thinking - Nootropics The film and TV series ‘Limitless’ showed a few individuals using a chemical enhancement to increase their intelligence. Real life doesn’t have anything as strong as what is deplicted in films like this, but there are a few useful things we can add to our diet to help our cognitive functions. Caffeine, in small doses equivalent to one cup of coffee (50mg) helps us think clearly. Use this in moderation, and avoid 8 hours before bed.... L-theanime is a key ingredient in Green and black tea. It helps calm concentration. This combines will with a small amount of Caffeine. Ginseng seems to benefit our body in many ways, giving us a healthy balanced immune system. It can help with concentration and clear thinking. Omega- 3 is only helpful if they have been previously lacking in the diet. Make sure to consume nuts and fish. Creatine, used by athelies, seems to give a small but steady improvement to thinking and memory. It is readily available as a powder. Gotu KolaAsiatic (pennywort) is a herb that seem to be good for mood, but may also help thinking. Tumeric is good (the yellow colour in curry), but it needs to be hot and taken with black pepper to work effectively. Tumeric seems to prevent memory loss as we age. We also need to ensure there is some B12 vitamin in our diet. Lack of this quickly leads to poor thinking and mood disorders. A healthy lifestyle and diet are the best way to stay in optimal mental shape. We recommend a regular massage as part of any lifestyle. Massage combats stress, improves circulation and enhances our immune system #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #lessstress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #benefitsmassage #reasonmassage #optimalhealth #thaimassage #nootropics #enhancemind #improvecognition

17.01.2022 Green Tea Green tea has steadily gained some popularity over the last generation. It seems to have no end of health benefits, and gives us a pleasant clarity of mind. The mild mental stimulation of green tea comes from a combination of caffeine and L-theanine. Both of these are only present in small amounts, but the combination of the two in green tea give us a relaxed concentration. A cup of green tea gives this improved mental benefit for a few hours.... Longer term, steady consumption of green tea improves mental functioning in old age, reducing risk problems with Alzheimers and other age related forms of cognitive decline. Green tea fights the bacteria in our mouth that causes tooth decay and bad breath. In fact, people who suffer bad breath should try green tea before anything else. The anti-oxidants in green tea improve overall health and increase life expectancy. Green tea may also help individuals lose weight. There has been some controversy over lead in some tea plants, but very little of this lead makes it into the hot tea- most stays in the tea leaves. Decaffeinated tea and green tea from Japan seem the best options for safe lead free tea. Live a healthy life. Include a massage as part of that healthy lifestyle. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #benefitsmassage #reasonmassage #optimalhealth #greentea #matchpowder #tea.

17.01.2022 Supposed Super Foods One popular diet trend over the last generation has been superfoods. These have been promoted as the vital missing element from our diets, with many exaggerated claims. In truth these foods are quite healthy, but no more so than the vegetables we should be eating anyway. In some parts of the world where there is a vitamin deficiency these superfoods probably did once provide a few essential but missing nutrients, but if we are already eating a healthy di...et it makes little difference. If you want to snack then by all means eat blueberries, seaweed, goji berries, pomegranate, wheatgrass, walnuts, cacao, green tea or any other superfood referred to online. Good diet makes all the difference to our health. But while these are definitely good foods dont expect anything too super. Massage is recommended for good health and stress relief. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #sleepbetter #goodhealth #diet #superfoods

17.01.2022 Healthy Food on the Go. A healthy diet makes all the difference to how we feel and think. But we may find a healthy diet is inconvenient if we are busy. It helps if we develop some good habits. -Keep a supply of healthy food at hand. A fridge with carrots, celery and nuts is better than a jar of cookies.... -Eat protein, especially if a vegetarian or vegan. This helps you feel full. -Fill up on vegetables first. -Pre-packaged salads at grocery stores are preferable to any other packaged meals. -Salad dressings are often unhealthy. Make your own from olive oil. -Avoid soda and sugary drinks. -Have a rice cooker and vegetable steamer at work for healthy lunches. -Breakfast cereals are often full of sugar. Try oats or a low sugar cereal. -Blended vegetables and fruit are good for breakfast. Perhaps add some fibre powder. -Eggs are a good breakfast option. Boil enough eggs for a few days. -Wholegrain bread is reasonably good. Avoid white and processed bread. -Including fruit in lunch is beneficial for health. Eat nuts. Walnuts, cashews and other nuts have healthy fats. -Get Omega-3 into your diet. You will feel run down without this. Find omega-3 in fish, flaxseed, nuts, many vegetables and other foods. -Water is a priority. -Make time to mediate, and enjoy a regular massage. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits

17.01.2022 Summer Sun and Skin With summer and school holidays here many of us will be spending more time outdoors. We recommend some solid protection from the Suns UV rays. Applying sunblock or sunscreen is essential in hot weather. Sunblock is a physical barrier over your skin, sunscreens are a chemical barrier which prevents UV from reaching the beyond the surface of your skin. Sunblock with zinc is probably the best option.... The SPF of a sunblock /sunscreen indicates its strength, with the higher number being stronger. SPF 15 means the UV damage that usually take one hour now would now take 15 hours. SPF 30 it the recommended standard. The Sunscreen /sunblock should protect against both UVA and UVB. Good sunglasses, meaning 100% UV and preferably polarized, and a hat are strongly recommended. Protection from the Sun greatly reduces the risk of skin cancer. It also slows down the formation of wrinkles and loss of collagen, so we wont age as quickly. We do need a little bit of Sun exposure to formulate vitamin D and to reset circadian rhythms, but the amount of exposure is not high. Try getting some Sunlight on your arms, legs and torso in the very early morning when the conditions are moderate. This will give you the vitamin D and help you sleep at night. Avoid Sun exposure to the face. Treat yourself to a massage over the Christmas and New Year season. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #summer #summersun #spf #skincare

16.01.2022 Quick Habits to Feel Better We can improve our mood, and hence our ability to engage with and enjoy life, with some quick tricks. Though we recommend a healthy diet and exercise as well. Mindful breathing. Place your tongue behind your front teeth. Breathe in through the nose to a count of four. Hold your breath for a count of 7. Exhale for a count of 8. Do this for a full minute. ... Smile and hold yourself in good posture. This improves mood. It can improve both your mood and those around you. Do kind things for others. Anything from buying them coffee to giving theme that item that they were looking for. Perform a kind act than means something to them. Music affects our emotions; some individuals respond to this more than others. Else, try binaural beats programmes or the sound of running water, the ocean etc. Be a social person. We are social creatures, it is part of our biology, there is no escaping this. This is not about denying or avoid problems. This is about being in a good frame of mind for living, and remembering what is important. Look after your health and your life. Massage, meditation, being social are all part of enjoyable living. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #lessstress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #benefitsmassage #reasonmassage #optimalhealth #thaimassage #mood #improvemood.

16.01.2022 Stress It would be too simple to say that stress is bad, or that we want to be rid of stress. We want to deal with stress and not let it concern us too much. Stress is a reaction to the demands of the situations we are in. We need to get something done, and our minds and bodies react to this demand. This much is healthy. The stress we feel is one form of motivation; the sense of achievement we feel when finishing a task is another reason to be motivated.... It is this sense of achievement, or at least completion that is key. It explains why a lifestyle that achieve nothing can be stressful. It also ties to another issue if we dont feel any sense of progress or achievement when completing a task that we were stressed about then we may be perusing the wrong goals. This is the stress of a dead-end-job or unfulfilling career. We are often read in pop psychology articles that stress compromises health and lowers life expectancy. This is misleading. Chromic stress that never abates despite our achievement does look to be bad for us. This needs to be addressed, perhaps with a complete lifestyle change. On the other hand worrying about stress seems to have a placebo effect, and actually cause health problems. Chromic worry about daily stress causes problems, while the daily stress is simply part of life. Regular massage is a great way to deal with stress. Massage can put us in a better frame of mind. We think more clearly, get more done, find solutions to problems, and generally feel quite good about life. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #stress #lowerstress #chronicstress #tension #lowertenstion

16.01.2022 Meditation- Busy Mind in a Busy World Meditation is sometimes hard to define or describe. Perhaps the best summary is that meditation is about being in tune with ourselves and in tune with the larger world that we are a part of. Broadly speaking there are two frames of mind- One is focusing on the task at hand, the other is our awareness of being part of the larger world. We cannot spend all our time in just one of these states. And embracing the larger awareness often helps... to give us some perspective on something that we later wish to focus on. The thing we wish to focus on makes more sense in a bigger context, and we are open to new ideas if our focus is not too narrow. Meditation is about the bigger perspective and our place within it. If you are new to this, try: A calm environment. White noise (ocean, wind) or binaural beat recording designed for meditation are very helpful. Accept who you are. Observe aspects of your life with detachment. Focusing on breathing, instead of focusing on daily concerns. Breathe through the nose in a slow, regular manner. Massage helps us stay mentally and physically fit, so we can approach life in the best way possible. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #lessstress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #benefitsmassage #reasonmassage #optimalhealth #thaimassage #meditation #clarity #mentalclarity #enhancemind #improvecognition

14.01.2022 Soft Skin Some of us would like to have soft skin. Others are indifferent to the condition of their skin, though its a little difficult to imagine somebody who prefers to have rough skin. we can achieve better skin with a few good habits. Wash and shower daily. Use lukewarm water and keep it brief as over-washing strips oil form the skin.... Avoid soap, which dries skin. Use a body wash. Have a suitable facial wash. Exfoliate you skin in the shower. Use exfoliating gloves to rub off the dead cells from the top of your skin. Be gentle. Use a soft facecloth. Pat you skin dry with a soft towel. Moisturize your skin after showering. It helps if the bathroom is still full of steam. Moisturize before bed. Coconut oil is good for many people. Vitamin E oil (inside a vitamin capsule) under the eyes will slow down the formation of crows feet wrinkles. Drink plenty of water. Eat natural foods including salad, fruit, steamed vegetables, fish and olive oil. Avoid artificial fats, transfat and processed foods. Always wear sunblock on your face when outdoors, with sunglasses and a hat. Get some morning Sun on your arms. Legs and torso, but cover up the rest of the day. This greatly reduces aging of the skin. Massage will help circulation, boost natural immunity and generally improve our life by improving our all-over health. It will help us deal with stress and look our best. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #water #skin #cleanskin #softskin

13.01.2022 Some Happy Habits We dont pretend to know the cure for clinical depression or serious psychological problems, but there are some good habits that help with daily life. Be kind to others. The others wont always respond to this, but it will help your body release serotonin that will lift your mood. And if you are miserable because you are trapped inside your own thoughts, habits and neurosis then it helps to reach out to others.... Dont hold grudges. This takes up a lot of time and energy, and you basically let the some event in the past ruin the rest of your life. Even if the problem was legitimate, leave it as part of the history and dont keep carrying it with you. See problems as a challenge. This isnt to say that finding the right solution isnt important, because some decisions are important. But try looking for opportunities and changes in life than obstacle to life. Express gratitude. You will feel better. Dont sweat small stuff. It will soon pass. Speak well of others. Gossip and slander gives us a deluded view of the world. Appreciate the present, and the bigger picture. Comparisons to others are meaningless. Choose friends wisely. If you arent a potential good influence on another, or if they are not a potential good influence on you, then reconsider the relationship. Dont worry too much about approval (a value judgement) from others, but do make sure that both you and other people get the facts right. Exercise and eat well. These affect mood. Have an allergy test. An unnoticed allergy compromises life. Accept that there are some unfair aspects of life and that you cannot control everything. Massage will help keep you in optimal physical and mental health. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #happylife #healthyhabits

13.01.2022 Fresh Breath It would be something of an exaggeration to say that fresh breath will revolutionize our lives. But bad breath will certainly cause a lot of problems, or be the symptom of an underlying problem. Fresh breath is both a sign of good health and a goal well worth pursuing. A teaspoon of chlorophyll will help de-odorize our bodies, including our breath. This is available at health food stores and chemists. As we only need a small amount per day one bottle will last... a few months. Green tea helps our dental health and is very effective for getting rid of some types of bad breath. It can be consumed cold if preferred. Brushing, flossing and mouthwash two or three times a day makes all the difference to our breath and health in general. Avoid mouthwashes with alcohol. Clean your tongue with a tongue scraper. Drink plenty of water. This helps at several levels, but even just keeping our mouth from drying out is enough reason to drink water. Chewing sugar free gum helps keep the mouth well lubricated and smelling sweet. Gum with xylitol appears to be the best option. Avoid aspartame (951) which is a common allergy. Chew some mint or parsley to freshen breath. Eat come crunchy food like carrots, apples and celery. Eat some probiotics like yogurt, Kimchi, sauerkraut and probiotic drinks. Eat some prebiotic fibre. Smoking and to a lesser extent alcohol will compromise breath. Try reducing these or cutting them out altogether. Healthy diet, with minimal junk food, will help our breath. Spicy food can cause bad breath in some people, which is unfortunate because this cuisine tends to be healthy in many other ways. The same situation applies to garlic and onions. Try to use the advice above before altering your diet. Drinking a little apple cider vinegar before eating main meals can also help digestion. Low carb diets (like Atkins) cause bad breath in many people. Stress and general poor health can cause bad breath. Else, bad breath can be a symptom of a serious aliment. Have any persistent bad breath checked by a medical professional. Massage can keep us in better health and significantly reduce stress. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #lessstress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #benefitsmassage #reasonmassage #optimalhealth #badbreath #freshbreath

12.01.2022 Thai Massage Most of us who like a massage simply enjoy the way it makes us feel. And anything that makes us feel good makes like a little better. Any health benefits are a bonus. Some benefits of Thai massage, which research tries to verify, include:... Unbeatable stretching. Great both before and after athletic performance. Improved mental wellbeing. Massage puts us in a good frame of mind. Boost in serotonin, the happy hormone, and a reduction in cortisol, the stress hormone. Improved circulation. This can relieve headaches, body cramps, and inflammation. Pain relief Human touch. We instinctively respond to this, and are attracted under most circumstances. Amongst other things this makes us feel connected. Increase in delta brainwaves, the frequencies associated with deep rest and sleep. This helps our brain put itself in order and feel rested. 12.01.2022 Foot Massage Many internal organs of the human body have nerves connected to the feet. This is part of the reason why foot massages can benefit many aspects of our health. Some benefits of foot massage include: ... Pressure to the right part of the foot can send energy to the weakened or troubled parts of the body. Foot massages can promote calm, relieve stress and increase feelings of psychological well-being. Foot massages can simply give you healthier feet, and this can reduce the chance of injury. 11.01.2022 Easter Eating Easter, along with Christmas, is one of the times where society expects us to indulge our appetites for sweet things. On an annual basis this isnt too bad, but it helps to be sensible with our holiday habits. -If you are going to eat sweets over Easter, go with chocolate rather than boiled sweets and pure sugar. Chocolate has some healthy ingredients like cocoa. This is especially true of dark chocolate. Sugar on its own has nothing of value.... -Dont eat confectionary on an empty stomach. This leads to a rapid influx of sugar, and your body compensating with insulin. Have some high fibre foods before eating sugar, or just eat sweets after main meals. -Drink plenty of water to keep teeth clean, especially after sweets. -Wait 30 minutes after eating sugar before cleaning teeth. Sugar will soften tooth enamel, so cleaning too soon will cause the enamel to wear away. -If you want to keep a sweet taste in your mouth, try sugar free gum. This helps clean teeth. Xylitol sweetened gum appears to be the best option. Chewing gum while waiting the obligatory 30 minutes to clean teeth is a good habit. Remember that Easter is about family, friends, connecting to others, spirituality and hopefully a few other things that put us in a positive frame of mind. Consider a massage, perhaps with your partner, to relax over Easter. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #benefitsmassage #reasonmassage #optimalhealth #easter #easteradvice

10.01.2022 Blood Pressure Human biology and health may well be very complex, but there are still some straightforward ways to look after ourselves, and to feel better about life. Our blood pressure is one area to look at. Many health gurus make this the first priority, because it effects so many aspects of our health. Ideally our blood pressure should be lower than 120 / 80. ... Poor diet, lack of exercise and (most notoriously) stress all raise our blood pressure. Our genetic disposition (we are all different) is also a factor. Changing any of these things will yield at least some improvement. Food high in potassium and Nitric oxide are great for lowering blood pressure. Almost any vegetable will help, though beetroot is a particularly effective. Dark chocolate (not light) and cocoa are also very good. Processed foods need to be avoided. For one thing tinned and packaged foods contain too much sodium, which increases blood pressure. We only need a small amount of sodium. Eat whole and natural foods instead. A massage is great for health. Amid other benefits it will reduce stress and really help blood pressure. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #bloodpressure #lowerbloodpresure #tension #lowertenstion

08.01.2022 Some New Science Behind Massage and Acupuncture. The benefits felt from massage and other historical therapies has mostly been accounted for by personal experience. People do feel better after a good massage. And there is some scientific support for this improvement, as blood pressure, circulation, stress and a few other factors do show measurable improvement. But the reason for this improvement have never been fully understood. People know massage makes them feel physically ...and mentally healthier, but have never really been sure why. A recent discovery has changed this. Hiding in plain sight, the human body has a layer of fluid filled space beneath the skin. This space, termed the interstitium, circulates fluid around the bodys surface and organs. Therapies that influence this interstitium and the fluids circulating within it could have a major influence on total body health. It seems quite likely that massage, as well as therapies like acupuncture, have been improving patient health by treating the interstitium and its circulating fluids. The details of this may take many years to fully understand. Massage remains a healthy way to improve life and feel good about living. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #benefitsmassage #reasonmassage #optimalhealth #interstitium #sciencemassage #massagenews

07.01.2022 Collagen One of the viable signs of aging is the loss of collagen in the face. This collagen is a supporting layer beneath the outer, visible layer of skin. We produce less collagen as we age, so our skin will tend to sag. We can minimize and perhaps partly reverse collagen loss with some basic good habits.... -Wearing sunscreen, preferably zinc oxide, during the middle of the day to prevent sun damage. But do a get a little sunlight in the early morning for your health. -Also wear a broad hat and good sunglasses to prevent sun damage. -A super healthy diet of vegetables and fruit and wholegrain makes a noticeable difference to our appearance. Include some good sources of protein. -Reduce sugar consumption as much as possible. -Drink plenty of water. -Copper peptide solution applied to the face appears to help with collagen. -Ginseng, both applied to the skin and in the diet, seem to help. -Vitamin C in the diet is always good. Some apply vitamin C liquid to the skin. -Exercise help circulation, which keeps us healthy and helps with collagen. -Red light, (around 630nm) seems to help the skin produce collagen. Devices are available online. A regular massage has many benefits, including improved circulation. Improved circulation will improve our appearance and help with collagen production. And the general benefits of massage will help increase the benefits of all our other diet and health exercises. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #benefitsmassage #reasonmassage #optimalhealth #collagen #antiaging #aging

07.01.2022 Inflammation Inflammation is a protective response; immune cells and blood vessels in part of the body react to eliminate something considered harmful. The more common signs of inflammation are redness, swelling, heat and difficulty in using an affected joint or limb. Inflammation can be a natural reaction to an injury or infection, else it can be a chronic problem, an allergic reaction, or the side effect of heavy exercise and bodybuilding. Such inflammation can be painful ...and cause difficult in normal daily functioning. Massage and a healthy diet are both effective ways to deal with inflammation. Underlying medical problems must be dealt with by an appropriate professional, but inflammation from exercise, allergy or even injury often benefits greatly from massage. With the massage benefiting the immune system as well. 07.01.2022 Psoriasis Psoriasis is an auto-immune condition that cause parts of the skin to become red and scaly. The condition is thought to be genetic in origin, with the outbreaks triggered by the environment, diet, lifestyle and stress. Psoriasis is not completely understood, but the condition is not contagious. Because psoriasis is connected to the immune system the symptoms can be alleviated by boosting the immune system and reducing all illnesses and stresses that rob us of energy.... But this treatment of the immune system can be complex; as the condition is caused by the immune system it is possible that increasing the immune function can make the condition worse. Sunlight or artificial light with a wavelength of 311-313nm will reduce psoriasis outbreaks. And Diets rich in omega3 and low in processed food also help. Massage can boost the immune system while lowering stress. This has been shown to benefit individuals with psoriasis. Massage is beneficial for all aspects of life. Many enjoy massage just to feel better about themselves. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #benefitsmassage #reasonmassage #optimalhealth #psoriasis #psoriasistreatment

06.01.2022 Hand Exercises. Modern People use their hands for a lot of fine detail work. Many use a computer keyboard, or control pads for games, play musical instruments etc. This can cause pain in fingers, tendons, palms and wrists, and inadvertently put stress on the neck and shoulders. 05.01.2022 Watering Down the Truth. For most of the 20th century people simply drank water or other beverages when they were thirsty. Then in the 1980s health advice experts recommended more water in our diet, and maybe less soda and coffee. As water was free from the tap this was easy advice to follow, and people felt compelled to drink 8 10 glasses of water per day. When bottled water became prevalent in the 1990s many people paid to continue their water consumption habits. But the ...simple advice given about water is misleading. We need more when we exercise and less at other times. Bigger people need more water than small children. Hotter days need us to drink more water than cooler weather. One guide does not help all. Our distant ancestors probably drank more water than us, because there was no other option at the time. Today we tend to drink less water because coffee, soda and alcohol instead. This isnt ideal. We should add more water and reduce the other beverages. Some points. Too much water will wash the salt out of our body, leaving us dizzy and possibly leading to unconsciousness, occasionally this has been fatal. Add some salt to the diet. Unfortunately lack of salt looks like dehydration. Absolutely pure water will wash all the trace elements out of the body. This is also dangerous. Some minerals and trace elements are necessary for health. Flavoured water and fruit water can be acidic, and harmful to our teeth. It is a semi-myth that water detoxes us. Our kidneys do the detoxing, but they need a moderate amount of water to function. Low water levels will harm the skin, but increasing water beyond a normal amount will not do anything other than restore skin and health to normal. We should drink water according to thirst, but over drinking water is fine as long as our levels of salt and micronutrients are adequate. Use water for sport, exercise, yoga, massage, and any summer outdoor living. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #summer #summersun #water #waterrecommendatoin

04.01.2022 Holiday Overload Many of us put on a little weight over the Christmas season. Most of us still have some of that weight on us the following Christmas season, so we find that the scale creeps up over the years. It makes a big difference to our health if we can lose the weight, possibly as part of the New Years resolutions. Distinguish between actual weigh gain and bloating from water retention. Water retention will give weak legs and swelling hands and eyelids.... Cut down on salt. You only need a small amount Drink water, black coffee and black or green tea only. Avoid sugary drinks. Find healthy alternatives to the food you have trouble resisting. Eat figs instead of chocolate. Keep celery and carrots on hand as snacks. Plan meals in advance. Eat fish, nuts and good oils. Fill up on vegetables. Steaming is usually the best option. Avoid processed foods and instant meals. Set meals to a schedule Find other engaging activities to do other than eating. 03.01.2022 Clear Thinking - Nootropics The film and TV series Limitless showed a few individuals using a chemical enhancement to increase their intelligence. Real life doesnt have anything as strong as what is deplicted in films like this, but there are a few useful things we can add to our diet to help our cognitive functions.

01.01.2022 Background Beat to Life. Our brains, much like our hearts and breathing system, work at a certain rhythm. The rhythm of all these systems varies with our mood and how we exert ourselves. Our heartbeat and breathing usually become faster if we exercise or feel stressed, or even if we are happily involved in something we enjoy. Our brain rhythm will respond in a similar way. The connection here goes two ways. As the heart, mind and brain rhythm are effected by our mood so we ca...n also influence our mood by influencing our heart mind and brain pattern. Listening to music, of the right types, can put us in the right mood for concentration, or the right mood for aerobics. Meditation tracks or the sound of moving water can also work well for changing out mood. Another more versatile option is binaural beats. Binaural beats give a warbling or pulse sound that our brain can synchronize to. A different frequency for the warbling corresponds to different frames of mind. Some warbling sounds are good for relaxation, some for creative daydreaming, some for concentration, some for problem solving. If we need a certain frame of mind we can choose the right binaural beat. Websites like YouTube have many binaural beat programmes. There are also many commercial programmes available online. Regular massage is also a great way to achieve a good state of mind. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #benefitsmassage #reasonmassage #optimalhealth #beat #binauralbeats #sound

01.01.2022 Winter Health There are a few myths about staying healthy in winter. Sunscreen... We can still suffer Sunburn in winter, which will feel worse if we have dried out skin. There is still UV radiation in winter which will slowly burn our skin. Use a mild sunscreen (SP15+) with a moisturizer. We need some sunlight in winter to get our vitamin D. Get some Sun early in the morning. Alcohol This gives us the false impression of feeling warm. If actually causes us to lose heat! Which can be dangerous in very cold weather. Limit drinking to when you are in front of a warm fire. Keep head Warm The previous generation were told that we lost most of our body heat through our head. This was an exaggeration- it is only because we neglect the head and leave it uncovered. Still, we strongly recommend covering the top of the head and ears to stay warm. Depression Some people have Seasonal Affective disorder (SAD) which leaves them feeling depressed during winter. But bright morning lights and good nutrition (omega 3 and B12) will often prevent or reduce this issue. The winter Colds and Flu This is the season for colds and influenza. But the cold weather does not cause the problem per say. Illnesses like these come from bacteria and viruses. The cold may compromise our immune system, leaving us unable to fight a virus, but if we stay super healthy, eat garlic, onions, Echinacea and probiotics, we will find colds are few and far between. Dry Skin Use a moisturizer. Dry skin is not just an inconvenience, cracked skin leaves up prone to picking up inflections. Try a moisturizer with sunscreen SPF15+ Chicken Soup This actually is good for clearing the sinus passages. It wont cure a cold, but it will relieve some of the symptoms and make us feel a bit better. Worth trying. Vitamin C Over use may not prevents colds, but lack of vitamin C will leave us prone to being ill. Eat some fruit and vegetables to feel more healthy. Tea. Tea is low calorie and quite healthy for teeth and body. A good way to keep hydrated in all seasons. Stay healthy and winter need not be an inconvenience. A regular massage goes a long way to maintaining our health. #thaimassage #massage #thaiyoga #sydneythaimassage #health #holistichealth #mentalhealth #chatswoodmassage #massagechatswood #massagestraithfield #straithfieldmassage #eastwoodmassage #massageeastwood #westrydemassage #massage #stressmassage #stress #destress #lessstress #healthy #healthylife #healthyhabits #benefitsmassage #reasonmassage #optimalhealth #thaimassage #winter #wintermyths #winterhealth
