25.01.2022 HOME DELIVERY/FITMENT. Due to COVID 19 and me loosing my job I’ve plenty of time up my sleeve so for those that can’t get to collect tires I can deliver. Cost will be $1 per kilometer only one way. Eg if google maps says your 16 k’s from my address that’ll be the cost of delivery. 19.01.2022 Dakar rider Edwin Straver passed away Motorcyclist Edwin Straver passed away last night in the presence of his loved ones, as a result of the injuries he sustai...ned in the penultimate stage of the Dakar Rally. Edwin Straver was 48 years old. The Dutch motorcyclist crashed unluckily last Thursday during the eleventh stage of the Dakar Rally. He broke the upper neck vertebrae and had no heartbeat for about ten minutes. After being resuscitated, Straver was transferred by helicopter to the hospital in Riyadh. It became clear there that he would remain unconscious. Straver was taken to the Netherlands last Wednesday, where it was again confirmed that the damage to the brain was too serious. Last night Edwin Straver rallyteam succumbed to his injuries. Edwin Straver was born on 12 April 1971 in Almkerk. He comes from a road race family - his father Anton is a former road race driver - but his heart was with the sand. He liked motocross and enduro much more than road racing. His first rally raid was the Erzberg Rodeo in 2012. In 2016, the Dakar Rally came into the picture. Straver, however, had to postpone his debut for a year because he crashed in the Merzouga Rally and was therefore unable to qualify for the Dakar. In 2018 it was time. Straver was in his third Dakar, the third time also as a malle-moto-rider. Partly because of the way he did Dakar - completely on his own, without any assistance from mechanics or a service team - but certainly also because of his personality, Straver enjoyed prestige in the Dakar family and in particular among the motorcyclists. Last year he won - also to his own surprise - the Original by Motul classification. Straver did not assume that he could defend his title, but with fourth place there was a top classification in the barrel. Straver was keen to also reach the finish in his third Dakar, the classification was irrelevant. In his last Dakar stage, Wednesday, Straver finished in 27th. Precisely during this Dakar, Straver emphasized several times that safety was paramount. "I brake for everything and don't go over a dune if I can't see what is behind it," he said the day before the accident. Straver was well aware of the dangers of his sport. We all know that this is a risky sport, but we try to think as little as possible about the fact that it can happen. I try to drive so carefully that I build in safety margins, but even then something can go wrong. We all accept those risks. If you can't do that, you'd better stay home," he said after the death of fellow motorcyclist Paolo Gonçalves. Straver worked as a maintenance engineer in daily life. He had his own company in his hometown Rijswijk.

15.01.2022 To all goldentyre followers and those who know me I don’t usually ‘promote myself’ but just putting it out there for people who may not know. For those unaware I’ve riden a motorbike around the world and I’ve raced the ultimate race-the Dakar(and finished) What I am eluding to is get in to my garage have a chat about tyres about bikes, ask anything you want, get your tyre and perhaps leave inspired to chase a dream, or humbled by an interesting story-I’ve 100’s, also ask about the book I wrote, ask to see a Dakar finishes medal which are rarer than Olympic gold in this country-otherwise it just collects dust in the cupboard-actually I need to find it! 13.01.2022 More disappointing news of late with the cancellation of such events as the 24hr and the Sunraysia Safari, I’ve quite a few customers that do either or both. Due to these cancellations I’ve now an oversupply of stock-both Tyres and Mousse. I did order a lot in for customers and extra. If you don’t require your order anymore no problems just drop me a line but if you still have the capacity to pay and collect for any future rides that’d be great also!... Hopefully next season brings more promise to everyone.

If mousse is something you’ve thought about but not sure well I’d suggest getting a front first, see what you think, no more fear of a flat at all, and a front can last a long time, so definitely worth it, does create a lot of confidence to hit things faster and harder! 02.01.2022 Who likes a ‘Fatty’....c’mon be honest!! The legendary fatty has increased in price by $5 late last year. I didn’t pass on the cost as I had stock that I received at a lower rate, but now that stock is gone, but I will not increase the price until the 1st of May so if 5 bucks will break you better get in by next Friday. 01.01.2022 It’s been a crazy year which has also had an effect on GT stock. Goldentyre sold 3 months worth of every bodies favorite the GT 333 in 3 weeks so unfortunately we will not see them again until late August/early September. By the end of this month I’ll have the GT333 in a 110/100 18 just not the 120/100. Also available at the end of this month the G-Mousse, 516KX Gummy. Currently I have a couple of fatty’s, one 333, 232’s(both 110/100 and 120/100), adventure and juniors. ... Get your orders in now to get them hot off the press at the end of the month.
