17.01.2022 If your DPF requires cleaning contact Glenwoods DPF specialists. Our 3 step cleaning process is fast, effective and a much cheaper alternative to DPF replacement. Cleaning is carried out on the vehicle, on average cleaning a completely blocked filter is completed within 2 hours. retail price for a clean on a light vehicle is $495 workshop, This cost includes an initial diagnostic check to determine cause of blockage, prior to cleaning. The whole 3 step process will typicall...y be completed within 2 hours December special pricing for Dpf service is $395 How It WorksStep 1: Advanced Diagnostics Before cleaning is carried out our technicians perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic steps to ascertain condition and functionality of all components and sensors related to the DPF to ensure a clean will rectify your vehicles fault. Differential pressure of the filter is checked and recorded to gauge how blocked the filter is and provide a reference for comparison after cleaning. Step 2: DPF Clean & Flushing A fuel treatment designed to aid cleaning and lower required regeneration temperature is added to the fuel tank. Next using our specialist European designed cleaning equipment, the cleaning agent is injected directly into the DPF filter and allowed to soak, beginning the cleaning process. We then run the engine at high idle to work the cleaning solution through the filter clearing the blockage, expelling foam and carbon from the tail pipe. We finish the process with injection of a flush directly into the DPF whilst engine is run at high idle. Step 3: Regeneration & Analysis A forced or manual regeneration is now carried out so that correct function of the DPF can be observed and live data monitored. Differential pressure is recorded and compared to the original data noted before cleaning to confirm an effective clean has been completed.

05.01.2022 Blocked DPF Lack of power We can clean 90 percent of DPF's using our 3 part chemical cleaning process. Common Causes Of Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) What Causes DPFs To Block or Fail? ... We always get asked this question, so here’s a few things that are common causes. Firstly, a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is a Filter on the exhaust system which collects carbon soot and ash from your engine. It stores it in a chamber to help lower Emissions. It then performs a DPF Regeneration, Of which the chamber reaches a high temperature which burns off excessive carbon and soot, there are many things that can cause this to fail or not to regenerate. Component Failure Such As Glow-Plug Or EGR Valves. On some vehicles having a fault such as faulty Glow-Plugs won’t always show up on your dashboard as a fault. The engine management warning light sometimes does not come on as the fault priority isn’t high enough, the engine will still perform as it should. EGR Valves are also very common due to the soot clogging the valve so that less exhaust gasses passes through, this will cause the DPF not to Regenerate correctly which in time will cause the DPF to block, clog and later lead to a failure. Most of these egr faults can be repaired using our intake clean. Poor Fuel Qualities. Poor fuel quality will not burn as clean and produce more carbon & soot, causing the dpf to block, clog and later lead to failure. Always use premium branded fuels, supermarket fuels are usually low quality, you really get what you pay for with fuel. Also most people don't know but a lot of cars will not attempt to regenerate if the fuel level is below a quater of a tank... keep your tanks topped up guys! Poor Maintenance & Servicing. Poor maintenance and servicing of your vehicles engine has a big part to play in DPF failures. If you engine hasn’t been serviced or serviced using the incorrect oils then you could be at risk. Using the incorrect engine oil can cause the DPF to block, clog and later lead to a failure, also poor servicing can lead to engine or turbo failure. Always use manufacture spec oils and filters this will help keep the ash / carbon & soot levels minimal, always check your fluid levels, this will help the engine stay cool and healthy. Short Distance Journeys. Short distance journeys will not produce the heat needed to regenerate the DPF, a DPF regeneration can take up to 40 minutes to complete a successful regeneration so having a lot of short journeys your dpf may not reach the heat required to burn the soot and carbon away which overtime will block or clog. 02.01.2022 It must be horrible for the average everyday car owner to have to deal with code reading, parts changing mechanics out there. This car was bought to me it was owned by a customer who had come from another shop where thet had tried to repair it but caused more problems First dealing with a stall, no restart, then finally just a stalling issue coming to stops and a oxygen sensor code it never had before Parts replaced in an attempt to to fix a stalling problem by the other w...orkshop 1. Crank sensor, which fixed the original stalling, intermittant no start condition 2.vehicle still had a stalling issue but would always restart 3.engine computer replaced still stalling 4.it nows has an oxygen sensor code ,still stalling 5.oxygen sensors replaced 6.exhaust pipe damaged when oxygen sensors replaced 7. Has oxygen sensor heater code stored which proved to be a inbuilt fault in engine computer that had been installed 8.replaced engine computer and reprogrammed which fixed the oxygen sensor codes but still stalling 9.stalling problem was a dirty throttle body 10. Car came back a couple of days later with a lean system code caused by an exhaust leak from the damaged exhaust For you customers out there . Find your self a good diagnostic tech and never leave him. Sure he may charge you $200 up front to look at your car but you can rest in knowing it will be right. Its time to educate our customers about the value of a proper diagnosis and how expensive it can be to just read a code and change parts
